American Windows & Siding of Virginia

Yep, another five star review for American Windows…read more We received three estimates for replacing three windows, a French door and a picture window. American Window undercut the estimates of the other two vendors by a substantial margin. We also really liked they only asked for a modest down payment. Jay was our sales contact at American Windows and he was absolutely great. He has an engaging personality, and kept all his commitments to us. We appreciated that when installation day came, he swung by to ensure all was going well. Oh, how did the installation go? It was fantastic. Not only did the windows and door come earlier than promised, the American Windows crew came on time and worked quickly and professionally. We were amazed that the whole job only took 4 1/2 hours to complete. The windows and door materials are high quality and we are very satisfied with the results.

After a frustrating, high-pressure sales pitch from another company, we turned to Reddit and saw…read moreincredible reviews for American Windows and Siding. We decided to drive an hour out to their showroom without calling first. Even though they weren't open yet and are by-appointment-only, Phil greeted us without hesitation. It turned out they couldn't take on our small window sill repair since they didn't install the original window, but Phil helped us anyway! He gave us repair ideas, explained potential causes, pointed us toward the right tools, and gave us contacts who could help. To top it off, his cuddly dog Wilson kept us company, and Phil even recommended a local spot for lunch since he knew we had a long drive. We are completely speechless at his kindness and support, despite not even being paying customers. Based on this first impression, we would work with Phil any day. The world needs more people like him!

The window brand that they installed, Gorell has gone out of business and while they were guaranteed for lifetime, we had to pay to replace a couple so far when the panes lost the seal. I have had to call again after leaving a message with no return call but everyone I have talked to at DreamHome from salesman to customer service is very pleasant and curious. When my daughter bought her house a few years ago, at our recommendation, they also used DreamHome to replace all the windows and doors and they are very pleased and will use them again for other services.

Dreamhome "OF SPRINGFIELD VA" talked me into a Roofmax spray on my 27-year-old roof. What a waste…read moreof money. Did nothing for my old roof; they sprayed over dirty, moldy, blackened 27-year-old shingles, $6000 wasted. I gave them a bad review a while back on Yelp, and then the company owner called me and said that if they refunded me half of my cost, would I remove or revise the review; basically a bribe to clear a bad review. That was about four weeks ago, and I have not heard back from them since. The salesperson was a rip-off, and Dreamhome is a rip-off. Avoid their scam. Sean - Midland, VA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TO FOLLOW UP: A direct quote from Kevin the Dreamhome Relationship Manager (in Springfield VA) in an email to me... Sep 28, 2026, 1:54PM (11 days ago) "Sean,       I am sorry you feel that way.  We do want to help, and we feel something is owed... My question still stands.  Will you settle for less than $3,000?  I can mail you a check for $2,000 with a signed settlement agreement today." And then, you never hear back from them (Dreamhome)! They talk a lot of BS but never deliver. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RESPONSE TO DREAMHOME OCT. 10, 2026 COMMENT FROM NISH PATEL: First off, I was "sold" a Roof Maxx treatment for my "27-year-old" roof. That is simply the fact; no one disputes that. Everywhere, including the Roof Maxx product literature itself, says this should not be used on a 27-year-old roof; that is just a fact. Especially a roof that is black with mold. In addition, Roof Maxx must be sprayed when the temperature is above 36 degrees Fahrenheit (and ideally around or above 40°F in the weekly forecast). When Roof Maxx sprayed my roof on the morning of Dec. 4, 2024, it was 35 degrees. DREAMHOME was the manager of this work; they were responsible, and they took my payment. There was nothing to "address"; you cannot "unspray" the roof. "Initiate a warranty claim" so that DreamHome could now sell me a NEW roof? This "Buy-Back Guarantee" is simply a marketing scheme. Are you kidding me? You think that I would let the same rip-off company now replace my roof? NOT a chance! I would be forced to pay the price that you all set for a new roof, and not a competitive quote from multiple roofing companies. In DreamHome's own words in a Sept. 3, 2026 email to me: "Could our salesperson have made the wrong assessment in recommending treatment rather than replacement? Yes, that is certainly possible." FACT: On Yelp, out of the last "20" reviews, "13" of them have been 1-star, very negative reviews, NOT just mine. DreamHome is simply a group of slick hustlers, and most of their customers agree. The reviews speak for themselves. Nish and his thug buddies can spin this however they like, but this is a shady business that does not stand by their word; they push a garbage product and services. SIMPLY LOOK AT ALL THE OTHER REVIEWS! I'm a retired software developer and manager for some of the largest companies in the USA. I would have long been fired if I ran a marketing scam like this Springfield VA DreamHome group. This Springfield group even has a reputation as "one star" among the other DreamHome subsidiaries around the county. From the DreamHome website... DreamHome Restore Buy-Back Guarantee™ If our "repair fails" within five (5) years from the completion date, we will buy back the repair and provide credit toward a full roof replacement. No fine print, no runaround. Signed personally by Lenny Scarola, President. This was not a "repair"; it was a spray treatment, and the meaning of "fails" is subjective. It did not fail; it should never have been applied in the first place. Just slick marketing words. FACT: Nish Patel, Lenny Scarola, and Kevin Butler do not stand by their work or product. To date, I have received zero compensation, but DreamHome has the money! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Both times they did a great job -- very professional, reasonably priced and prompt. I can't recommend them highly enough. Update -- last night during the storm we had water leaking in through the top of a window. I emailed Matt Marshall, who replied right away. The next morning when I checked in to see when someone could come by to take a look, he called me back and said he was nearby and could be there in 10 minutes. He looked at the window, cleared some debris that he thought might be the problem, and applied some new caulk - all free of charge. He told me to call him if it leaks again and gave me a rough estimate for a more comprehensive fix if one is needed. You can't ask for better customer service than that.

When he discovered a problem that was not foreseen by the estimator he had to run out to get a part but came back promptly and finished the job on schedule. Although this specific element was not included in the original estimate, Jose installed it without fuss and did not charge for the part or his extra labor. Where can you find that kind of responsibility these days? I would never call anyone but Marshall!
