I called Virginia Foundation Solutions after speaking with a company I worked with previously. Design Specialist Brett came out on a rainy Saturday morning to talk with me a look at my home issues. Brett took his time to show me what he had found using some very sophisticated equipment. I had cracked brick outside and cracked dry wall inside. He let me know what needed to be done to support my foundation and the cost. 15 push piers, permits, move my HVAC and masonry repair were included in the cost. This is expensive work to get done but the cost was lower than the first company I spoke with and we even picked out a mortar color for brick repair. Everything needed to do the job was covered. Brett was not pushy and did not give me horror stories to try to pressure me into putting down a deposit but I did and signed a contract. On Monday morning 3/2/20 a team of men showed up and the work began. Williams Seles, Jonathan Massengill, Antonia Roca and Supervisor Tommy Dunmyer. The men explained to me and showed me what they were doing and it was fascinating to watch. By Wednesday 3/4/20 they had completed the job and my house was on a firm foundation. Another team of men showed up Wednesday afternoon to assist with the cleanup of my yard and they did a very good job. The following Monday, Linwood and another workman, masonry engineers, showed up and cut out brick and replaced them back on my house beautifully. The only issue I had was, Linwood did not return as promised to put caulking around my windows where they had separated from the house during the house lifting. On 3/20/20 Tommy Dunmyer, Field Supv, returned to review the work with me and to see if I had any questions. I mention to him the caulking of the windows was not done as promised by his company but I had taken care of getting that job done. I should also mention caulking was not a part of the contract but an item that was told to me would be done. Everyone I talked with was pleasant and professional. After having previous foundation work several years ago we would get large cracks, doors were sticking and the floor popped, so we started looking again. We most definitely chose the right company this time. From Brad (salesman/estimator) to the Purple Crew (Will, Antonio and Gibbs) the whole experience has been great. The crew showed up every morning and checked in with us and let us know what they would be doing under the house. When they were done they touched base with us and let us know what time they would be here next day and what they would be doing. They closed up the crawl space every night and didn't even trample my new grass. Will was especially helpful after he did his initial walk through and I showed him where the problems were he looked at the drawings and moved a Smart Jack to a trouble spot. When they finally lifted the floor to get everything back inline, my wife was amazed. Our bedroom door hadn't closed in 15 years and the first lift they did the door closed and latched perfectly. The cracks in the walls closed up with every lift they did and now when you walk across the floor, no popping and creaking. Very professional and courteous crew. When we hired VFS they were very professional, crew was polite, cleaned up, and things were done in a timely manner. I thought I had hired the best. Veteran owned and proud of it! Only to find that about 3 months after the job was finished I began see moisture that concerned me. After hiring a plumber he found some most distressing information. The company had sealed an enormous amount of rot under my shower. I connected VFS and they informed me that wasn't part of their contract and their men didn't see it. I find that extremely hard to believe because the pictured that were taken are inches away from where they were working installing. the plastic for the encapsulation. If nothing else they should have been concerned for our safety. The plumber said if it had gone unnoticed for much longer someone would have fallen through the floor. VFS claim they are concerned about the integrity of our homes. Well in my case that did hold true. I was giving the run around by a number of people ending with Rob. I requested a meeting with the representatives from the company so I was talking to more than one person (and yes I was crying and upset- wouldn't you be after spending $45,000.00)I was told they would not meet with me. I told I would come to Viking Drive and I was told I would NOT be allowed in the building. All of this I find very disturbing. read more

An outstanding job and great followup. We are nearing the final stages of our home foundation repair, and must say that the process has been nearly flawless. We interviewed several foundation specialists before selecting Virginia Foundation Solutions; some were more expensive and one quote was comparable to VFS. After several presentations we liked the down to earth approach of the salesman, who was very attuned to the customer needs and was very clearly interested in our understanding what and why certain repairs would be needed. We also liked the fact that after initial discussion ,he actually went beneath the house and returned with pics of what the conditions were as well as what would be needed to be done. We did not have to wait a week for the info. The gentlemen who actually performed the work, Tommy, Sammy and Erick were outstanding in all aspects of the job, from clean up to ensuring that the materials were disposed of in an environmental appropriate manner. This was significant in that our neighbor had similar work done and disposal of the materials were significantly different. They were as courteous as they were in their professionalism. We are very happy that we chose Virginia Foundation Solutions! From the beginning thru the end, this company was top notch. Great Communication!! My wife and I often discussed this aspect during the process. Ted was easy to work with, personable, and informative. We had a major delay due to a home refinance (bank took 2.5 months to finalize a simple refi). Ted didn't pressure us. Their office did keep in touch during that process. Once the refi was done, they were able to schedule us within 2 weeks. We were advised each day on when to expect their arrival. They did great work under adverse weather conditions and stayed late at times to make sure they stayed on schedule. They paid attention to detail and Tom came back on Saturday to yet again inspect their work given that they finished after dark Friday. Virginia Foundation Solutions We had the Gray Team finished at our home yesterday. Our house had uneven floors and felt soft in places. Once diagnosed, what was necessary was explained. Virginia Foundation is an excellent company and are worlds above the customer support that the "initial" competitor provides. It started with the free consultation. Andrew B. inspected our crawl space and gave an honest assessment of what we could do to insulate our crawl space. No up-selling. No pressure. He never used the "used car salesman" approach. The prices are fair and below the competition. The competition did a consultation the same day and quoted us the same at about $1000 more and said a bunch of stuff we clearly did not need. We had moisture issues in our crawl space. We called a couple of companies, one which never responded with a quote and the other that wanted to basically put a band aid on the issues.
