Dr. Baldillo is very professional, concise, thorough, and is superb at making patients feel comfortable. She is very knowledgeable not just about topics in "women issues" but in just about everything that is brought up to her. She's an excellent read of her patients concerns which really helps create efficient communication in addressing and fixing any problems. Her staff is very efficient, warm, and professional. I got there 10 minutes early and they took me in as soon as I checked in, perfect if you don't like waiting or if you are strapped for time. The entire appointment was about 30 minutes and this included full exams, lab test, blood test, prescriptions sent to a pharmacy of your choice, and a diagnosis to pinpoint the solution. She outlines the steps that will be done through the process up until our next follow up appointment which her staff sets up for you on your way out. Highly recommended to anyone looking for professionalism, integrity, comfort, answers, and solutions.

I tried to narrow it down by the hospitals I wanted to deliver at then reviewing doctors at that hospital. Kapiolani was my third choice to be honest but when I read the reviews for Hawaii Women's Healthcare I decided to just go for it. I scheduled my first prenatal appointment with Laura and she was nice. Laura assigned me to Dr. Spector - whom is great! Laura informed me though that I'd get a chance to meet all the Doctors at the clinic at some point in case something happens and I'm comfortable with them which I thought was phenomenal because it wouldn't be a surprise last minute. (06/10/2019) I called once in regards to spotting and spoke with Nicole. I told her my concerns and she took them very seriously and emailed Dr. Spector for me, which I wasn't aware of until she called me back. It was a great surprise that she communicated with Dr. Spector. (06/17/2019) Then I had another concern a week later and spoke to Skye who was very kind, she emailed Dr. Spector as well and she was able to squeeze me in last minute to address my concerns and do extra tests. Check in was quite simple and the person running the desk was super sweet. I didn't catch her name unfortunately. Vanessa checked me in and did my vitals and having a conversation with her was so easy. I was then put into a clean room and met Dr. Spector who was very accommodating, sweet and informative with extremely great bed side manners! She went above and beyond to review my past medical records. (07/01/2019) I went back to get some other labs done and Dr. Spector made sure I was okay the whole time and even told me what she was going to do step by step and showed me everything she was going to be using so it wouldn't be a surprise. Dr. Spector could easily email me through the patient portal with my results but she takes the time to call me and I appreciate that so much. I'm not a fan of the doctors and waiting for the results causes me to have anxiety, but having to hear it from Dr. Spector over the phone instead of an email is very comforting. Dr. Spector answers every question I have with no hesitation! Also.. Their phlebotomist, Bella, is very gentle and does a good job. I highly suggest going to Hawaii Women's Health Care - the whole experience was over the top with very delightful employees. Thank you Dr. Spector and staff! :)

This review is for Dr. Lauren Sword. My old OBGYN moved away and all the other providers in the…read moreoffice were booked solid so I decided to try Dr. Sword who had a wide open schedule. I went to see Dr. S for a routine Pap and OBGYN visit, which was quick and no frills. She was nice enough, did the exam and we were done and I was on my way. I paid my co-pay at the office which is their requirement. This is where things get fishy. My HMSA PPO co-pay is $12, they charged me over $22. Yes, there is tax etc. but it still didn't add up. Whatever I paid the co-pay. Background info: I see her mid January and my HMSA PPO insurance coverage is up the end of January. I called HMSA and made sure her visit is covered (it was they said) and the claim was submitted to HMSA. DONE, or so I thought. Fast forward to end of Feb, I get a bill from Dr. Sword for $586. I think WTF? Turns out she reversed my original office visit of 20 minutes to 30 minutes and submitted a new claim Feb 15th. I call HMSA to find out what's going on and since she cancelled my original claim outside of my insurance and resubmitted I now have to pay the full bill. I also called their billing department and talked to Nelvi Antonio, who would not listen and kept talking in circles. She admitted that my original claim with Dr. Sword did go through and when I asked her WHY 3+ weeks later they cancelled and resubmitted a new claim she wouldn't answer and kept talking down to me like I didn't know what I was talking about. Terrible service and rude. Nelvi claims that they mistakingly filled me as an existing patient (which I AM) but since it's been years since I came in they must file me as a new patient again. Sure, fine, but it took you 3+ weeks to figure that out? No answer to why you didn't do your job correctly in the first place? No accountability. Shame on you Nelvi for doing an awful job. Do it right from the beginning and learn some customer service. Can't even explain or have any accountability. Very upsetting that weeks after my visit Dr. Sword is now trying to get more money out of insurance. I think that's called FRAUD. Thank you Dr. Sword for messing up my insurance claims and now I'm stuck with a $586 bill that was originally covered via my old insurance. Beware of this office, they try to charge your insurance more and more to get more $$$$$ and then their billing department has no clue and tries to scape goat out of any responsibility. Dr. Sword please fire your billing company, they are doing you a disservice and chasing away clients. I will NOT be back to your office.

They are up to date in terms of technology, procedures and equipment. The staff are organized, friendly, efficient and have great communication. Patient education and instructions are clear. The doctor, I'm sure, is responsible for the office success. Dr. Leialoha has excellent bedside manner. She showed empathy during all of my physical (and emotional) ups and downs. I didn't have to wait long for my initial visit. They are closed for lunch from 1230-130pm. As a new patient, the asked me to come in half hr early to register. Once checked in and papers filled out, the wait wasn't long. Dr Asato is busy. She walked into the exam room, introduced herself, we discussed any on going issues as it has been a few years since I've seen an OBGYN. Exam went well and all my questions were answered. Dr Asato indeed is a very pleasant and knowlegable person and should I have any questions before my next exam, I will be calling her office. (by the way, she did occupy the space of former Dr USHIJIMA office) and good drs are hard to find! She's a keeper.

On delivery day, she was with us for over 5-6 hours, guiding us through every push, every moment, and every emotion. That level of dedication is rare. She is truly an amazing human being and one of the best doctors you could ever hope to have by your side during such a magical and life-changing experience. Instead of simply scheduling an appointment, I was asked a long list of questions and told my information would be reviewed by the doctor to decide if she wanted to accept me as a patient. Meanwhile, my insurance website clearly listed her as accepting new patients. When I followed up on June 10th, I was told she decided not to accept me. When I asked if this was normal, I was told yes--that the doctor wants to ensure patients will be "good" and follow directions of care or something to that effect. Somehow, I found myself actually trying to convince the receptionist that I would be a "good patient," which in hindsight feels pretty awful. No one should feel like they have to plead for medical care. I went on to call another doctor the same day and was treated with professionalism and respect--asked basic questions and scheduled immediately. This whole process just felt unnecessary and, frankly, a bit gross.
