It's a bit out of the way for me - but the week of Thanksgiving 2020 - I was looking for some specific spirits for some craft cocktails - specifically "Allspice Dram" - and this was the closest Virginia ABC Store to stock this little known spirit. Physically, it's somewhat smaller than some of the other Virginia ABC Stores - but they manage to cram a nice selection in there! I had some other items on my spirits shopping list that I was planning on picking up at one of my "home" Virginia ABC Stores. But they had it all, so I also grabbed a bottle of Pimms No. 1, Rumchata, and some Bourbon and Creme de Cacao. The store had all the signs about only being allowed to enter if one had on a face mask. All the staff were wearing them - properly I might add. None of this passive aggressive over the mouth, but not the nose technique. While I was there - they had a staff member opening the door for customers to enter and exit. Great service! #VirginiaABCStore

A brief history according to Virginiaplaces.org states that after Prohibition ended, Virginia authorized retail stores to sell beer and wine but retained direct control over the sale of hard liquor. The General Assembly set up what is today the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Authority and gave it the exclusive right to sell hard liquor directly to the public. So, this is where you go to get your spirits of choice. They are small but well stocked stores and they often have sales. If there is something you want that is not on the shelf you can do a special order & they will get it in for you, even for just one bottle. The staff is always friendly and helpful & the store is always clean & stocked. What could be better! Cheers!

On a plus note this is one of their better locations. Park in the rear or side of the building. Little River Turnpike can have a lot of traffic. Actually the employees here are super polite and know their liquor products. It is a tidy and organized store. Due to the laws I'll give it an average rating. Please don't drink and drive.

The theme is pretty much the same, the store is easy to navigate and you are close to guaranteed to find whatever you are in the mood for. All the favorites or frequently bought liquors are locked up so you have to ask for it. Staff is friendly and ready to assist if need be. Store is always clean and there is plenty of parking.

I live there as a kid but then had moved down with my family to the Northern Virginia/DC area. I took this most recent trip to see a friend at a birthday, a major birthday at that. Much like the trip itself, this has convinced me that where I am now is home. There is no place like Boston. So why do I bring this all up? Well, for anybody local reading this it is a little bit of a culture shock to have a state ABC center where you can buy hard liquor and spirits. Here where I live we have a package stores that we could just simply go and buy them that are independently owned and operated, not controlled by the state itself. No for anybody from north of Virginia going down there, the state ABC store is kind of unique experience. You walk in you see all the hard liquors categorized by liquor type rows upon rows of it. They do except out-of-state ideas if anyone is concerned. I found the staff to be friendly, I asked about one specific type of whiskey which is hard to find. They did not have in stock. however, I need to buy a nice bottle of wine which I plan to use to celebrate with family this upcoming Thanksgiving. I can highly recommend this location, and I imagine the other locations are the same standards.

The second room had more wine on display. The shop is nice and appears to be high end, mostly dedicated to wine. I did not compare wine prices, but my impression is that wine here is more expensive than some of the national or regional retail chains such as Costco, Total Wine, Binny's Beverage Depot, etc. They also offer cigars, beer and cheese. We did not buy anything during our visit. When we were leaving, a customer arrived to buy some wine. If we ever run out of wine we will stop here to buy wine or other items.

I came here looking for Cake vodka ( pinnacle ) for my surprise they don't have it ! They only have like 5 flavors of pinnacle vodka. That brand has like 20 flavors ! They have specials in different brands ! Good! I bought one three olive vodka for 10 dollars, it was in clearance. The staff is friendly and attentive. They close at 9 pm! A month ago I thought it was at 10 , I went to the store at 9 15 pm and they opened the door for me , they help me with everything. They need more supplies but at least they have the essential.
