We all agree on 2 thumbs up across the board for decor and ambiance. It was giving industrial-NYC-Soho vibes. Quite impressive for Main Street Manassas. Timing was everything ... we were too early for the dinner crowd and just missed the lunch rush so the parking Gods were on our side ... we snagged a spot right in front of the restaurant. Stephen was a gracious server / bartender to our wee little party of 3. The beers were cold and the Cadillac Margarita was decent. The Rueben and bbq wings were raved about (especially the bbq sauce ... it was legendary)! Unfortunately, the salmon bites and the pork belly deviled egg appetizers were soooo salty and just not edible. Also $15 was diabolical for the portion size of the salmon bites. (Pic attached) I've paid that for a full bourbon glazed salmon meal with rice and veggies. Not a deal breaker. Would most def return to try other app / entree / summer cocktail options. There are a lot of events, including trivia nights, karaoke, music, bingo, and live music throughout the month. The street in front of sinistra becomes the scene for a large stage with a life band every first Friday and it becomes quite crowded. I recommend you check it out.

This Festival goes under few different names: The church website calls it "Greek and East…read moreFestival", the host (Harris Pavilion) calls it "Annual Manassas International Food Festival," and earlier versions on the Facebook called it "Old World" festival. These are all good names for this Nativity of Our Lord Carpatho-Russian Orthodox church fundraiser. In a conversation with one member I learned that this is one of those orthodox churches that do not have the National denomination (Bulgarian Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Greek Orthodox, etc...) as it caters not just to the first generation of immigrants but more to all generations and all people with the Orthodox fate, with no consideration of the national borders. I learned that they have one mass in English and Our Father prayer is recited in 7 world languages. The menu of the festival reflects the church diversity but caused a dilemma of many comers as far as what to eat because it is a long way from Ethiopia to Russia on the food road. People took longer time to figure out if they would rather have Ethiopian, Greek, Slavic, Romanian, Mexican or American food but once in line you move quickly with the food vendors winking and lifting their trays to entice you to get their food. Pierogi were very good, baked well; hard outside and soft inside so combination of dough, potato and cheese was properly melting in the mouth. While I was eating delicious plums with crème, my tongue quickly detected a harder object within the plum. I wondered why plums were not pitted like the most things in US are and to my pleasant surprise the object in question was a walnut half. Once I knew what I am eating - it all came together very nicely. Letdown was that the deserts did not offered any layered moist cake or crepes - which always make me anticipate any Slavic or Western Europe festival. Another letdown was that I could not have a Greek or Russian beer. There was just one Greek wine type but on a hot day a beer goes better with the lunch. The venue was perfect and enthusiasm of the host was energizing. I was happy to support in some way their church. The visit can be combined with a walk in the old town Manassas.

A wonderful place for a special event with excellent food and service…read more We recently held our daughter's baby shower at Taste of Old Country in Manassas and could not have been happier with how everything turned out. The restaurant is very nice inside and also sells a variety of olive oils and other specialty items. We actually used some of their olive oil packages as prizes for the games during the shower, which worked out perfectly. Elias and Zachery were wonderful from before the event began while we were setting up, throughout the entire shower, and even afterward while we were cleaning up. They obviously knew how to handle an event like this and seemed to know exactly what needed to happen as our guests began arriving and the shower progressed. We had two long tables set up for our group, one seating 14 and the other 12 people. I thought the tables and place settings looked wonderful, and they allowed us to add our own table runners, pumpkin-themed centerpieces, and decorations along both sides of the room. When it was time to eat, the food was set out buffet-style along the bar near the back. The menu was Mediterranean based and included spanakopita, cheese pies (not pizzas), artisan sandwiches, meatballs, stuffed grape leaves, and other items. Everything was absolutely delicious, and there was certainly no shortage of food. We had enough for everyone at the shower, enough left for dinner for eight of us afterward, and still had leftovers for two families to take home. The staff did a great job throughout the event without making us feel rushed, and the entire experience was comfortable and relaxing. Considering the beautiful venue, excellent service, quality and amount of food, and how smoothly everything went, I thought the price was an excellent value. Overall, Taste of Old Country helped make our daughter's baby shower a wonderful event and one we will remember for a long time. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a place in the Manassas area for a shower, family gathering, or other special event. Definitely a five-star experience. Enjoy!

There's plenty of parking in the shopping plaza lot. Everything in the store was neatly arranged and there were signs hanging above each section so you knew where to go. All the prices were also clearly marked. They were vacuuming the store while I was there, so they do take care of the cleanliness. I found the whiskey my husband requested and headed to the register. I had no trouble paying and out of habit I said I didn't need a plastic bag, but I think it's required for a purchase like this because the cashier said something like "yeah, bag" as he packed up the whiskey. (Next time I'll be sure to bring a reusable bag.) Overall, it's a good store and I would return here for future purchases I need to make.

Although the seating area can get in the way. -1 for the self checkout; I really wish it'd be a 15 items or less area. I constantly see shoppers ringing up a full(er) cart and a long line of people with their hands full (no cart or basket).

She insinuated that I hadn't prepared the meat correctly. NO- your store is selling expired meats and fish with fake expiration dates on the label. I've decided to drive to the other Harris Teeter off of Carpathia near Gainesville to purchase my meats, chicken and fish. No bad meat or fish since making this change of stores. I will use Bristow store for a quick run to pick up a canned good or produce. I don't even buy dairy like yogurt also due to expired products in the cold cases. I've spoken with the manager and I've taken expired products to customer service to show they have expired products. No big deal to these clerks- it's the customers fault it's expired! Buyer be aware of the fish counter and the meat cooler for questionable product! Thankful for a clean and caring Harris Teeter on Carpathia, near Gainesville.
