This seems to be the place to come locally if you like your bourbon, as shelves on one entire wall, and about half of the back wall, were devoted to it. The selection was decent, though a large portion of it was numerous varieties of the most popular brands. Prices were typically a buck or two above competitive for the whiskey/bourbon/scotch selections in general. I liked their rum selection too. We had an indoor/outdoor room with doors that opened to the outside. I had a raspberry lemon martini with a sugared glass rim. Very nicely presented. They have a very varied menu and they also have a large gluten-free menu. We both had the lobster bisque as a starter and then we both ordered the fish tacos. The soup was filled with lots of lobster meat and was delicious. The fish tacos were made with cod and the waiter mentioned that the slaw had some habanero chile in it. I asked if it was spicy and he said it might have a slight kick, but was not spicy. He was absolutely correct and in fact, if he hadn't mentioned the habanero I would not have picked up on it at all. It was really good. If you order bread, (and you have choices on type), you are charged I think a dollar per order, but that is donated to help people who are food challenged. We were full from our dinner, but we could not pass up an order of key lime pie for dessert, which we shared. It was a hard choice because they had a special dessert which was chocolate peanut-butter pie. I wish we could have had both. Their other desserts also sounded great. By the way, a portion of their revenues from desserts are also donated to help those who need food assistance. I was very impressed that they do that. Not sure is that worked though since GARs are notoriously great places to work. :) As for food, I don't care how old I get, the chicken tenders are a forever favorite, but their Cajun pasta is my absolute favorite thing on the menu. Also, don't sleep on the Ozzie rolls, and when it's on the menu the crab Louie is incredible. My husband is obsessed with their burger - that's actually his baseline for any restaurant we eat at now. It's a huge space, and they do get really busy, but they take reservations, so it's usually not a problem getting a table. Highly recommend if you are in the area. I wish we had GARs in NC. I miss them so much! Bonus: they are really good with allergies and picky eaters.
