I've been getting my hair cuts and coloring done with Sonny at VIP hair studio for years. Her attention to detail and the ability to understand exactly what I want for my hair style is amazing. She's honest - meaning if she thinks what I want may not be great, she explains the process and suggests alternatives and options. Her hair coloring products are really high quality and the henna coloring lasts, doesn't tdamage my hair. I highly recommend this place! read more

Sony is AMAZING. I've been all around the north metro Atlanta, and I haven't found anyone who's been able to cut my hair how I like. Disconnected layers, messy, with two twin tails in the back of my head. I've been to high end salons, students, friends, no one could give me quite the haircut I wanted. She understood perfectly the first time and I didn't even need any reference pictures for the second cut. Always amazing conversation and Coco is so cute, too, if you're a dog person. read more

I have been coming to this salon for almost 7 years. The service is excellent. I have been getting organic henna hair color from the first visit and I will never go back to dying my hair. The henna leaves my hair soft and healthy. The products have really been a better option for my hair as there has never been damage to my hair. The price is so reasonable. I have seen the same services offered at other salons for 1-1/2 to 2 times the fees. Best service and deal in town! read more

Came in for a quick haircut while on a business trip, I've never met a friendlier salon owner. If you're looking for a haircut at a reasonable price I would recommend this place. Quick, personable and easy! read more

It's so terrible. She's not professional and so much talking. I have a headache . But prices cheap. read more

I got a haircut with the owner Sunny. She did a great job with my hair. I have very thick hair, Sunny made sure to get rid of the bad part while keeping the length of my hair. We talked a lot from her experience in working with luxury jewelry to my essential oils, I can feel that Sunny has huge passion in making her clients feel beautiful. Thank you for giving me a great hair day. read more

My sister has been a regular client at VIP Hair Studio and gets her color and perm done there. She recommended it highly and when I came down to visit her, I went to get highlights and keratin treatment. The owner of the salon, Sony, took the time for thorough consultation and understood exactly what I was asking for. The color came out perfectly, very natural looking and NOT fried. I didn't want pin straight hair from the keratin treatment and she put curlers to create "lovely curls'. I could not be happier with my hair and will have to travel to Georgia more often so that I can get my hair done here. The total came out to be a third of what I would have paid for in New York. Great service and amazing price! read more

My daughter had gone from black to blonde taking her 9 months to get the color she wanted. I used to go here years ago and trusted her to touch up the root. The owner ended up charging her $160, $40 more than what she quoted saying she did something extra and gave her a color completely different from just touching up the root. Instead of highlighting the hair and matching the color, she completely dyed the whole hair, leaving strands of orange hairr everywhere where she couldn't see then later put pirple toner which stayed permanently. The owner said she could fix it if we came back but instead my daughter went to another salon and got it fixed. Now she refuses to refund the money saying it looked ok to her when we left the salon, but then why did she offer to fix it? Do not go here, she is a rip off. She simply replied let's end it here. How irresponsible. read more

I showed Sony a pix of the platinum blond i wanted. She messed up my hair up so she did it again but instead, she burned my scalp. She said the price would be $90. I ended up paying $190. 2 weeks later I went back cuz she said she would fix my hair but now it's a dullish green and she also stained my new sweater. She also made me walk off with my hair still wet and clumped. When I got home & as soon as I saw my hair, I burst into tears. I feel ugly and I feel ripped off. Please don't come here!! read more

worst salon i have ever been to. pls stay away from here. i came in for a root touch up and left with all my hair a different color. i came in with blonde hair and left with orange, purple, and silver hair. contacted the salon for a refund and the owner refused saying to just leave it here and that she did not see anything wrong with what my hair looked like. had to go to another salon to get it fixed as i did not feel comfortable letting her touch my hair ever again. read more

Too short of haircut than I asked for and a perm that left my hair very damaged, dry and poofy. Also burns on several places of my head including the side of face. I would not recommend this place for Japanese straight perm or a regular haircut. I have long straight thick hair that has been dyed with professional grade products. My hair has never been bleached. It was long, thick, SOFT, shiny when I came to Sony. I talked to Sony a few months before I got my hair done. My first impression was good so I went back and got the perm and haircut. The treatment I got was less than VIP. I asked for 2 inches off my hair and Sony cut about 10 inches. I said it was too short, but she assured me that it will be longer once the Japanese straight perm ($200) was done. During the perm, 3 people were working on my hair including Sony. I was telling them it was hurting and it felt like burning on several instances. Sure enough one of them BURNED the side of my face. 2 days later when I washed my hair, it was DRY, POOFY, and DAMAGED. I called Sony to ask her if I can go back so she can look and fix my hair. She agreed. I went back and Sony said that she would just do Keratin treatment (brand Salon Tech). She said to come back 2 days later and she will wash my hair so she can see for herself. If my hair wasn't fixed then she would refund my money back. I went back and my hair was still very dry, poofy and damaged. Sony said to try 1 more time with the same Keratin treatment. So I let her. I came back 2 days later and this time she didn't dry my hair so I left and just let my hair air dry. Once it was dry it was DRY, POOFY, and Damaged. She then said that she would do the Japanese perm again. I asked her to do this when I came back the first time for her to fix it and she didn't. I asked for my money and she only gave me 75% back. She said that it was fair and she should not have touched my hair. I was visiting family and friends for the Holidays and I was spending more time in the VIP salon than enjoying my family and friends. I felt like I waisted my time and got a horrible hair treatment. Needless to say, I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS SALON NOR WILL I RECOMMEND IT! read more

The owner of this salon Sony is a real professional who knows how to cut and color with great expertise. Her prices are extremely reasonable and she is very accommodating when I call for an appointment. Sony recently corrected another cut gotten at another salon...where prices were more than three times more expensive. Love my new short and sassy haircut. Thanks Sony! read more

Best place to get your hair dye. I paid $35 just to dye my hair. The service was great too. I would come back there again to dye my hair! Totally recommend it to my friends and family. read more

Thank you! Fantastic hairstylists that know exactly how to care for your hair.

I loved this place. The owner was very kind and very skilled. I brought my daughter over to do a Japanese Straightening and it turned out amazing. There chemicals used for Japanese straightening is very strong, but the produces they used didn't damage the. They also do organic hair dyeing and sells some of the products that they use for a cheaper price at the front of the store. The wait is short, I came in early and didn't have to wait at all. After we paid, the owner gave me and my daughter gifts. Overall, I loved the service and the haircut was beyond satisfactory. read more

Sony is terrific and her prices cannot be matched, especially for the quality service. I get great organic hair color and she always goes the extra mile to give me more than I ask for. I was skeptical about going to this salon mainly because I wasn't sure if they specialized in my type of hair (ethnic hair). Also because my hair was already severely damaged and I was afraid trying to fix it would only make it worse. The services needed done was color because clearly my hair before was a hundred different colors due to me trying to dye my hair on my own. My main issue was trying to get rid of the embarrassing green color in my hair. Hair Studio offers organic coloring, which is better than regular color because there's no chemicals. Long story short I wanted my hair back to black. Not only did they accomplish my color she also gave me a keratin treatment which strengthened my hair. I can feel the difference in my strands and my hair is so much shinier and feels healthier. I loved the results. They were extremely friendly and patient. Not to mention it was only 59$ for the color, the same procedure Aveda offered me but for 150 read more

So I never had a set hair studio where I go get my hair done, and I ended up here because my mom suggested that I come. She's a regular here as she regularly gets color corrections, cuts, and perms. So I came here looking for a trim to get rid of my split ends. The owner/hairstylist is very skilled as she easily understands what I want and how I wanted it. Then she was able to deliver the look that I wanted. The major plus about this place is that everything is so inexpensive compared to other places that I've been to. HOWEVER, THE QUALITY AND EXPERIENCE IS SO MUCH BETTER. The lady really knows what she's doing and my wallet and heart are very happy that she doesn't crazy charge for her talent services. read more
