I used to love VIP Nails a few years ago, but I just went and it was a terrible experience. My manicurist was rushing beyond belief and hurting me during the process. My nails are rigid, look very unprofessionally done, and it was a waste of time and money. I do NOT recommend going here unless you want to leave with rigid and awful nails. This is the worst pedicure I've ever received. Got black polish paint was still on my skin and somehow the black was see through.

New to the area and chose this salon because it was close by. The woman at the front was quite rude and snappy. Since I had never been there before I was unsure of how they ran things. When I asked about the gel colors I was told to hurry up and pick and was rushed - I also was 10 minutes early so I was in no need to be rushed. I asked for an acrylic full set. At first I thought there was potential but then as we got to filling the shape it all went down from there. I wanted long almond nails. I asked multiple times for the man to file the right side of my nails more because he was heavy handed on the left side. He kept ensuring he'd check the shape. He never fixed the issue even though I asked multiple times. Leaving my nails crooked. The gel application was sloppy and he didn't even try to apply the top coat evenly. After the gel was cured he had to go and file the sides of the nails since he had gotten so much on the sides. The filing obviously took gel off the nails leaving exposed acrylic. Will definitely not be going back. read more

When you walk in they take there time to serve you and then when they finally attend to you they get a attitude for no reason on top of everything they are over priced for bad service I got short acrylics and she made them lopsided I asked her to fix it serval times and she just repeated what she did before and at the end when I had to put my under the fan/black light he told me after 3 minutes they where done and they messed up as son as I left please save your money and time and don't come her. read more

Firstly, the owner Tuan does not have a valid license to posted at his work station. I scheduled an appointment for a full set with marbling and explicitly asked if they would be able to do what I asked. When I came in I told them I had an appointment for marbling and I still got "sign in and pick a color" and waited 30 min passed my appointment time to be seen. They didn't know what "coffin" shape meant and I was given a lot of attitude when trying to explain how I wanted my nails shaped. Then I was also given a lot of attitude regarding how the marbling needed to be done, because even though they said they knew how to do it, they in fact did not. All of my polish was sloppy and not smooth, and then they filed my nails AFTER the final top coat and I had to make them fix it because the entire sides of my nails had no polish on it. At the end of pulling teeth for hours, I had mediocre nails for a moderate price that have started to lift after just 10 days. When I went in to get them fixed though I was not asked to pay for corrections. Over all they have hit or miss quality but care a lot about customer satisfaction. read more

I scheduled an appointment here for me and a friend because I read such great reviews. I got a refill/shape/color for only $20 and the nail tech (Twa was his name I believe) has such great attention to detail and didn't rush while getting my nails the perfect shape. My friend got a full set with gel polish that came out gorgeous. I would only recommend calling ahead to schedule an appointment because there were only two employees working and walk ins who came in after us waited a very long time to be treated. Overall a fantastic experience, recommending this place to all my friends! read more

Worst service EVER. Always a last resort & I still regret it every single time. Not worth the headache & definitely a waste of time & money. She is beyond rude, impatient, makes uncomfortable comments, & up charges for no reason. The multi tasking is inefficient & a way to trap customers from leaving since the nails are half way done so you can't do anything until she makes her way back to you. The town collectively agrees so I think it's time to reassess your business processes VIP. I'd personally begin with being able to stick to your schedule because you've been running behind & "trying your best" for at least 4 years. Embarrassing. this was horrible. each nail was a different shape and when I asked to even them he filed them after he painted them taking off the polish which was not fixed. I will NEVER come back here. My appointment was at 3:30pm and did not get taken until 3:56pm (nearly 30 minutes late). The manicurist gave me a completely different color than what I had asked for, labeled with a different number. She tried convincing me that it was the same color after I asked her multiple times to please double check. She then proceeded to use the color of her choice, not mine. I went here last week with a friend for gel mani and regular pedi scheduled at 4pm. They finally started our pedicures at 4:45 or 5, one at a time though. They only applied one coat of color to my toes. Afterwards they had us sit there and wait while they worked on other customers nails. Then close to 6:00, they finally started our nails, again, one after the other. All feeling very rushed as they had many others with scheduled appointments waiting. I finally left at 6:45 (spending 2 hours and 45 minutes in there for a scheduled appointment) and it's been 6 days and I already have a chipped nail. Incredibly understaffed and unsanitary. Had an appointment at 430 and was not helped until 530. They used the towel with my dead skin from my cuticles to then dry my hands, dead skin went everywhere. The owners are very nice but they NEED to hire more people. This has been an issue for years and is unacceptable. I will be shocked if my gel manicure, which was done carelessly and in 10 minutes, lasts more than a few days. read more

Literally the best dip manicure I have ever gotten. Set the bar way too high for all other salons now that the rest are a let down. I was underwhelmed with my manicure experience here. I walked in when my normal salon was booked for the day. The salon is clean, and they were able to take me quickly, but in less than 24 hours my nails had chipped significantly and looked terrible, even though I had properly dried them for 15 minutes post polish application. This is a little hidden gem in what I consider to be this plaza region in Bloomington. I called ahead to see the wait time for a walk-in and they were honest with me and told me to come within the hour. When i walked in an hour later, they immediately sat me and began my services, having asked if I was the individual who called earlier. If you go, ask for Mo. She did an immaculate job and did not take long, but I never felt rushed either. She was an amazing conversationist and when I told her I was new to town, she gave several recommendations. My nails have been terrible every time I have gone I should never have returned in the first place. I left with 3 fingers bleeding, an uneven shape, tips that are shorter than my actual nail, and nail polish all over my fingers. When I asked them to fix it they said it would be an extra charge. Let's start with the massage chair - best chair hands down! Next - relaxing music (can we high five NO TV)! Why would I want to watch Jerry Springer when I'm trying to relax. The salon is very clean, surrounded by windows on two sides, leather seating area. True spa feel. Now, onto the mani/pedi: Firstly, along with the sterilized tools, each guest has their own buffer-block. No sharing with the masses. .And it was so tiny and cute! The pedi was on par with others I've had. But the mani (gel nails) was the best! I've had some great mani's - and I'm particular about the cuticles. But she was sooo thorough. Even went back to take a few little snips after painting. I'm in town once each month to spend the weekend with my grandson. He was napping (papaw was with him) so I made a last minute decision to have a mani/pedi. I live in Indianapolis where there is a surplus of nail salons. In my experience getting my nails done typically begins with an extensive wait, packed salon, and well over an hour of time. VIP nails was one of the best experiences and cleanest/prettiest salons I've been to! While it is smaller, their staff are very friendly and accommodating! Friday I decided to treat myself after work and they were able to get me in no problem and no wait! The pedi included scrub, lotion, and hot towel! I felt that they had a great color selection! I had a $32 mani/pedi, and for that price, in California, you get a pretty good hour+ relaxing experience. Not so much here. I think the whole thing took 45 minutes, which maybe is a perk. They cut corners. I'm a runner, and they didn't address AT ALL the torn off skin from an old blister on the bottom of my foot. Among other things. Quick on my toes = EXCRUCIATINGLY painful. In the mani and pedi: there was no real (traditional) quick foot/leg lotion/oil massage. It was super disappointing. I don't know if I'll go back, to tell you the truth. Sometimes it's hard to locate the color I want but unusually find something comparable.
