I moved away from Redding and recently came back to visit. I went in for a manicure and let's say I was disappointed. It seems VIP has been under new ownership for a while. For my manicure - I did not get a hand massage. The buff tool that was used was not new AND it was digging into my cuticles which hurt. NONE of the tools I used seemed new/sanitized. The cuticle pusher had stuff on it and the tech was grabbing (what I assume was used) tools from under his desk. The water used to soak my hands was cold. The buffer was so worn out and rough, I flinched and pulled back as I was getting my nails buffed out. I did not even get cuticle oil or anything. There was no ventilation either. The polish I picked out was so old it was in a glob and the tech had to add some thinner to it Maybe I'm just spoiled with the nail salons in Orange County where I am from. I will have to say that the main guy everyone goes there for his nails look nice. I saw all the girls who got their nails done walk out with nice shapes and designs. Sadly, my acrylic days have been retired for quite some time.
My girlfriend always come here to get her nails done!! She always get some different kind of nails art and they always do it so good as the inspo! Kat did her nails and she love it!
This place scammed me when I went to go get my nails done she made me pay $130 claiming that it was because of the jewels and it's not like I was going to say no because she was gonna think I didn't wanna pay or something so I paid it but this was definitely a lesson learned first and last time it definitely seemed like it was a nice place until I was charged this amount also let me add she is saying I added a tip I never did literally never did I say a 10$ tip weird owner she must added that in herself as she is commenting
The first time I went in, I scheduled an appointment on Instagram by the name of thanh lai first experience was okay second time the design I wanted was to much and it didn't come out how I wanted third time I came in I came in with a full set except one nail was off so I needed a fill I sent inspo pic of what I wanted he filled my nails and then started the design and I did not like it it was nothing like the picture I feel like he's rushing every time anyways I had to have him wipe it off and just leave it a solid color I payed 60$ and left respectfully and will not be back
Basic pedicure- coming from someone who gets pedicures every few weeks- this was hands down the worst looking pedicure I've ever had. You can see for yourself. Very crooked, left with dry skin and terrible paint job- I 100% could have done a better job on myself. When I asked her to straighten them she said she couldn't. Do yourself a favor and never come here or at least don't get Tammy. Also terrible music playing the entire time and freezing cold.
Absolutely stunning nails. I came in with a very specific vision for my nails and they delivered. The technician Michael was absolutely amazing. He's a true artist and was able to complete exactly what I wanted and more. It was an amazing experience watching him work on my nails and seeing the intricacy in his work. He used so many different methods to paint my nails, airbrush, fine detailing and glue for a 3D effect. It was so fun. I absolutely suggest VIP NAILS!
I used to come here many years ago and just started to again. They have changed hands in the last few years and I have to say, the quality of their work has improved! No shade to the last owners, but the techs who work here now clearly like what they do and are super fun! I've now had my dip manicures done by both Michael and kat and each time I leave very satisfied. My nails are healthier than they have been in a very long time. Kat did my manicure this time and she paid super close attention to detail and trimmed up my cuticles as well, which is something I usually have to ask for. She is super friendly and funny too! I'll be coming here from now on. Thanks VIP!
From the outside, VIP nails looks like nothing fancy. They're located in an older part of town that's due for a little facelift. But, don't let that fool you! The interior of the salon is well updated, decorated, and clean. This is a busy family ran business, and they were able to accommodate a few appointments with short notice for us. We arrived on time with no wait and we're serviced right away. What I appreciated the most about this salon was that regardless of how busy they were, they took their time and didn't rush us out. Nothing is worse than treating yourself to a pedicure and being rushed out of there. We were able to relax and enjoy the massage chairs while we received our pedicures. The took their time painting my toes to make sure they were clean and looked professional. With the $45 deluxe package, we received aromatic scrubs, water additives, additional lotions massaged into the skin, hot towels... the entire works! Overall, the service here was great and the prices were very reasonable. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Redding!

It was a bit crowded and had poor circulation. I felt like I was getting high from toxic fumes. The people working there seem extremely unhappy - no one ever made eye contact with me. When I asked for less bulky dipped nails, the woman just "barked" at me that if it broke they would not replace it. I definitely will not being going back to them. read more

Tina did excellent work on my daughters acrylic nails. Better than the picture my daughter brought in as an example. Michael did my gel French tip mani/pedi. Meticulous and an artist. Clean environment. I love and highly recommend VIP nails! read more

Went in with a picture, & she gave me exactly the same! I will definitely be back again & again. I am extremely happy with the quality & I am 3 weeks in with no lifting & still look like I just got them done! :) very pleased with my experience. I'm not 100% I believe her name is Tina? OK so I've been to this place twice and I definitely will not be going back the first experience. It wasn't great. The nail tech was Nice. I actually called on the phone. I was like 10 minutes away on my first appointment and I asked if I could get in to get my nails done, I needed to fill and also asked if I could get a pedicure, I always get gel and I always get French pedicure and I usually get a French hombre on my nails when I went in she said she couldn't do the type of hombre I had, which I understood because it was spray-painted on from my place I went to and cheek of it does extremely high quality work so she did change my polish. I will say she was very rude. Never asked my name never spoke to me never asked me how I wanted my nail shape and I actually change the shape of my nails that was already on them that I actually liked I just couldn't believe how unfriendly and rude she was at one point I asked her if she knew how to do hombre For a future visit and she said if you wanna act like that, you can go somewhere else. I actually should've got up and laughed because not everybody knows how to do hombre, including the place and Chico that I had been on my previous appointment. the wife did my nails and then her husband spray-painted the hombre design so me asking her that question Was simply me trying to find out if she did hombre and she snapped at me and was very rude. Like I said I should've never came back, but she change the polish. It was decent very thick looking, but I was extremely happy with my pedicure that I got from another girl, her name starts with a C I can't remember what it is and she's very young and did an outstanding job, so when I came back a few weeks later, I called on the phone I talked to niece I told her what I wanted I wanna get my nails done and I explain to her about the girl that did my pedicure and I wanted to come have her do my pedicure I made my appointment three days in advance but of course when I got there a few minutes early, nobody looked up to even speak to me. Niece kept her head down while she did somebody else's nails, and had me get started getting my pedicure done with an older lady who is not who I wanted to do my pedicure and niece knew that and when I told her I told you I wanted to have a young girl do my pedicure she said she's on vacation and then I said I wanted to get my nails done first and she said you're going to get them done one way or another so extremely rude. I set up my appointment the way I wanted it I wanted to get my nails done and out-of-the-way and then I wanted to be able to sit back and relax and get a pedicure since I've had a really bad back pain pulled muscle for the last week. I knew what I was doing when I made my appointment once and he started doing my fingernails she was nothing but rude she did a horrible job. I've never had my nails done before or I just had a brand new said and gel polish added like I said, I usually get a French nails done every time so this was new to me and I was very unhappy with what she did the shape of my nails. She left them very squared I do not like them they catch on my clothing. They catch all my long hair, I work out at the gym I do not like pointing nails on the sides. She said nobody in here could give me the shape I wanted it was a simple shape. I will say that that girl niece is so extremely rude and the people in there and the vibe is just so rude and friendly, it's sad that people work in the service industry to make other people happy that's the job they choose and then they act so miserable. Their experience level in there is very very low and they charge extremely high prices. I paid $80 for a pedicure and didn't even get any kind of callus removal or anything and I had a very terrible massage very unhappy with the whole experience left spending $130 the time before I was very unhappy but I still tip 20 bucks this time I left them zero and I definitely will not be going back. My nails feel so flimsy and she put some of them on to where they're already shaped in a lifting manner, I can already tell these nails were put on, so they would come off very easily, and break off very easily, she glued quite a few of them on so they're already shaped going up and they're very flimsy not enough basecoat before she put on the polish and she did not put on the polish completely. Also, another thing is she has a very dirty station which is disgusting they have those face guards in between you and their filthy, when she was doing my nails and my hands were laying down on her counter, I can fill all kinds of dirt and then when she was brushing my hands off, her brush was filthy. I don't think it's ever been cleaned and she still left all kinds of nail dust on my hands and when's gonna start painting my nails until I asked her if I can go wash my hands, I left there so upset and disgusted. Went in on Easter Sunday because they were the only place open. I made an appointment for 4 pedicures and they were very accommodating for a last minute appointment. They even stayed past closing hour to give two of us manicures that were initially unplanned and were very friendly (and they had a very cute Pomeranian) read more

Nice salon with great energy. Clean and comfortable. The staff and customers were all very friendly. They had a wide range of colors and effects to choose from. Pricing was reasonable. Dang is an amazing artist. He credited exactly what I asked for. He was polite and funny. And very very good at his art! I would highly recommend Dang. BEEN COMING HERE FOR OVER A YEAR AND WILL CONTINUE!!! (: I've been getting my nails done by Dang at VIP for over a year now. I ALWAYS receive compliments on my nails from both women and men and have never been disappointed by how my nails have turned out - even when experimenting with new colors or designs. What I appreciate the most is that they will NOT overbook appointments or waste your time. If they can accommodate you they will! But they won't if it will interfere with another client's appointment or if you will be waiting for too long - as ALL businesses should. I love that. I never liked getting my nails done feeling like the nail tech was rushing to fit in another customer. They put an emphasis on time and value for your time and money. Of course making an appointment will help. I schedule mine out one to two weeks in advance just to make sure I can get in because they've been growing in popularity due to their quality of work and customer service. Definitely would recommend if you've never been here before. Try the aurora powder on a white or light pink base. It will change your life! read more

This salon, hands down, does the best work in Redding. I've never had my nails done to my liking here, but Dang did an amazing job! I got a fill with gel and he took caution with the grinder, made sure my fill would last, and that my shape was perfect. He even has HOLOGRAPHIC glitter. I've been looking all over for this! And he has so many options. His technique is great, he was so friendly, this is definitely my go to salon. Just to update, I've been coming here for a while now and I love this salon. I like to try new and fun things and they're always willing to work with me. They take their time to make sure my nails look perfect and I've never had sets that are so even and as sharp as I have here. If you want an experience where your needs are catered to and always met and also have a blast with the employees this is your place! read more

I just want to give this place a HUGE shoutout. They are getting my business as long as we live in Redding. Babygirl lost a nail in a situation over the weekend that I don't even want to go into. I didn't want to send her to school missing a nail, so I took her here to get the one fixed. The little color palette was sitting at the owner's nail station with just the right color on the panel of swatches on top. Dang started to say he didn't have time for a walk in (which doesn't surprise me, because although I only usually get pedis from the ladies here, I've seen his work and he's very talented), but I said we just needed the one nail. He not only took her, and did a GORGEOUS job, he didn't charge us for it. I've been emotional all damn week lol and I'm about to cry again. read more

SAVED!! These guys really saved me in a pinch. They were able to get me in no problem in order to fix some nails that were lifting. Dang was attentive and friendly and produced amazing results!! The shop is a comfortable atmosphere; they are a fun and super friendly environment and the first shop in Redding to make me laugh. In my opinion, best nail salon in the Redding area. The service is outstanding; I booked my appointment through Yelp and even though they have lots of requests, they responded to my request within minutes! - thank you Dang! and keep up the good work with your salon. I love that for your pedicure they use a disposable liner to cover the spa tub. Vy did my nails and he did a fantastic job! I also got a pedicure and Phoebe was so sweet & did a fantastic job also. I'm from NC and a nail technician myself of 8 years myself, back home I can't find anyone to my nails exactly or nearly as close as perfect as Dang does them... I just want to fly back every 2 weeks or move here just so my nails are done here.. the entire staff is extremely friendly & attentive.. I would highly recommend this location, the only complaint that I would have is that j wish I have gotten my acrylic nails a little bit longer but other then that, everything is perfect & I will be back when I come back into town read more

I moved out to Redding a few months ago from LA and have been going to VIP since I moved out here. It seems like most businesses out here are either hit or miss. I will say coming from LA where you can find some of the best nail salons, VIP nails is the closest you'll get to that and is definitely not a miss, rather a HIT! What I love about this place is their quality service. Not only do they do a great job on your nails, they make you feel valued as a customer! Emily (who is amazing!) confessed to me at my first appointment that customer service is their number one priority. I have seen this time and time again when I visit VIP nails. Overall the staff is very sweet and attentive the moment you walk into the door all the way until you walk out. Emily even took the time to hug me as I left one of my appointments once. She is personable and makes you feel like a friend rather than just a paying customer. Even now when I visit her she asks about my job and how me and my boyfriend are doing. You can ask Emily for any design and she will go beyond your expectation. Today I showed Emily a picture of what I wanted and she could have not carried it better! She made my nubby little fingers look amazing. Furthermore, I've heard only the best about others work there as well. The prices are extremely reasonable, especially the fact that they do such a great job and are so attentive to the customers needs. I have been meaning to write this review for a while but have been so busy settling into this little town. With that said, they deserve an honorable review as well as an influx of customers because they are the best nail salon in Redding, take my word! read more

Went to get my nails done tonight. Was there for an hour and a half and this is what I left with I'm so unhappy I don't even want them to be the one to fix the nails since they did such a shitty job! All of them are different shapes and go sideways! They also cut two of my cuticles. read more

Moved up to Redding around February of this year. I was unsure of which spot to go to for a pedicure. I have to say This nail shop.....amazing! Super friendly service, very gentle and super hygienic! Got a manicure gel!!!! They are seriously amazing! Emily did my nails and Dan did the design! Brought in a Pinterest picture and they delivered! Very gentle and did designs on all nails! I have sensitive fingernails. Emily was great:))) ___Update....my nails started peeling off after about 3-4 days...I tried fixing it myself. It just didn't hold up well.. The people are SO nice...but the quality of the products maybe did not hold up well.... read more

It was at first time going to this place and it was quick, fun and fresh ! I haven't gotten my nails done in awhile and from moving to Redding from LA picking and choosing a place is like a gamble I don't want to do . I wanted something simple, and I was nervous of my nails looking bulky and not as clean but from waiting every single person that went to go pay for their appointment made comments like "oh my god I love them" (regarding their nails of course) so I felt a bit at ease hearing that too. I'll be coming here frequently and bringing my new friends here as well. I believe Dan did my nails and he was a sweetheart, even if I was a bit shy to make conversation I felt comfortable and i was attended to quickly even if I was a walk in .
