I am so grateful to the wonderful workers here. I came in with my 10 month old daughter for some much overdue mom time. Usually my husband keeps her when i get them done but today he couldn't. about halfway through my daughter started getting hungry and tired. They let me escape to my car for a few minutes to nurse her and even helped me keep her distracted while they finished my nails, giving her toys and boxes to play with. I will never forget what an amazing experience they provided and my nails are super cute. 10/10 would recommend to anyone needing a little TLC. read more

OK so I've been to this place twice and I definitely will not be going back the first experience. It wasn't great. The nail tech was Nice. I actually called on the phone. I was like 10 minutes away on my first appointment and I asked if I could get in to get my nails done, I needed to fill and also asked if I could get a pedicure, I always get gel and I always get French pedicure and I usually get a French hombre on my nails when I went in she said she couldn't do the type of hombre I had, which I understood because it was spray-painted on from my place I went to and cheek of it does extremely high quality work so she did change my polish. I will say she was very rude. Never asked my name never spoke to me never asked me how I wanted my nail shape and I actually change the shape of my nails that was already on them that I actually liked I just couldn't believe how unfriendly and rude she was at one point I asked her if she knew how to do hombre For a future visit and she said if you wanna act like that, you can go somewhere else. I actually should've got up and laughed because not everybody knows how to do hombre, including the place and Chico that I had been on my previous appointment. the wife did my nails and then her husband spray-painted the hombre design so me asking her that question Was simply me trying to find out if she did hombre and she snapped at me and was very rude. Like I said I should've never came back, but she change the polish. It was decent very thick looking, but I was extremely happy with my pedicure that I got from another girl, her name starts with a C I can't remember what it is and she's very young and did an outstanding job, so when I came back a few weeks later, I called on the phone I talked to niece I told her what I wanted I wanna get my nails done and I explain to her about the girl that did my pedicure and I wanted to come have her do my pedicure I made my appointment three days in advance but of course when I got there a few minutes early, nobody looked up to even speak to me. Niece kept her head down while she did somebody else's nails, and had me get started getting my pedicure done with an older lady who is not who I wanted to do my pedicure and niece knew that and when I told her I told you I wanted to have a young girl do my pedicure she said she's on vacation and then I said I wanted to get my nails done first and she said you're going to get them done one way or another so extremely rude. I set up my appointment the way I wanted it I wanted to get my nails done and out-of-the-way and then I wanted to be able to sit back and relax and get a pedicure since I've had a really bad back pain pulled muscle for the last week. I knew what I was doing when I made my appointment once and he started doing my fingernails she was nothing but rude she did a horrible job. I've never had my nails done before or I just had a brand new said and gel polish added like I said, I usually get a French nails done every time so this was new to me and I was very unhappy with what she did the shape of my nails. She left them very squared I do not like them they catch on my clothing. They catch all my long hair, I work out at the gym I do not like pointing nails on the sides. She said nobody in here could give me the shape I wanted it was a simple shape. I will say that that girl niece is so extremely rude and the people in there and the vibe is just so rude and friendly, it's sad that people work in the service industry to make other people happy that's the job they choose and then they act so miserable. Their experience level in there is very very low and they charge extremely high prices. I paid $80 for a pedicure and didn't even get any kind of callus removal or anything and I had a very terrible massage very unhappy with the whole experience left spending $130 the time before I was very unhappy but I still tip 20 bucks this time I left them zero and I definitely will not be going back. My nails feel so flimsy and she put some of them on to where they're already shaped in a lifting manner, I can already tell these nails were put on, so they would come off very easily, and break off very easily, she glued quite a few of them on so they're already shaped going up and they're very flimsy not enough basecoat before she put on the polish and she did not put on the polish completely. Also, another thing is she has a very dirty station which is disgusting they have those face guards in between you and their filthy, when she was doing my nails and my hands were laying down on her counter, I can fill all kinds of dirt and then when she was brushing my hands off, her brush was filthy. I don't think it's ever been cleaned and she still left all kinds of nail dust on my hands and when's gonna start painting my nails until I asked her if I can go wash my hands, I left there so upset and disgusted. Came here to have hard gel fill, kinda the new standard everywhere now. They let me know they do not do this, which is fine. I told her I could switch to acrylic. The two nail techs that had the best reviews no longer work here and I see why. I went in with an open mind. I just want to give this place a HUGE shoutout. They are getting my business as long as we live in Redding. Babygirl lost a nail in a situation over the weekend that I don't even want to go into. I didn't want to send her to school missing a nail, so I took her here to get the one fixed. What I love about this place is their quality service. Not only do they do a great job on your nails, they make you feel valued as a customer! Emily (who is amazing!) confessed to me at my first appointment that customer service is their number one priority. I have seen this time and time again when I visit VIP nails. Overall the staff is very sweet and attentive the moment you walk into the door all the way until you walk out. Emily even took the time to hug me as I left one of my appointments once. She is personable and makes you feel like a friend rather than just a paying customer. Even now when I visit her she asks about my job and how me and my boyfriend are doing. I went to VIP nails for the first time today and all in all had a pleasant experience. They offer regular polish mani/ pedi (5+ pedi spa chairs), gel polish ($25+) and both coffin as well as square fake nails for I believe 30+ (or nail enhancements as I like to call them)...but don't quote me on that as a 100% accurate. There is a wide variety of colors and design options. A staff member was practicing 3-dimensional flowers and nail patterns which was great to see. They were also cleaning when I walked in which always eases the tiny portion of my mind that is slightly germaphobic. Lol. In all honesty, I love my manicure. The staff member that did mine, paid close attention to detail (hence the 5 stars), making sure my edges weren't rough and that I liked how the glitter was applied. I also did not feel rushed (another reason for the 5 stars), however, I did go earlier in the morning. I have gone here 4 times in the last year and they do decent acrylics, in terms of art and expertise. However, when I took off my last set at home with pure acetone, I they took at least 2 hours to get fully off and were extremely gummy, which should NOT happen. They should come off flakey when using acetone. This means they are using MMA monomer which is extremely dangerous and it is illegal in at least 30 states, including California. Because of these illegal business practices I cannot give more than one star. Please go somewhere else and save the integrity of your nails and hands. read more

Found my new go-to nail salon in Redding! I'm celebrating because I wasn't confident I would find a mani-pedicurista I like as I was spoiled by Tom and Heidi from GG Salon in Sacramento. I'm super picky about clean cuticles and getting all the dead skin off, and having the polish come all the way to the edges of the sides of the nail. Would I be able to find someone who pays as much attention to detail? The Yelp reviews led me to Dang at VIP nails, and they were spot on! Dang is the owner, and his gf Emily and the rest of his crew are friendly and meticulous. Other customers came in with their gel pedicures (grown out after months of wear) but in perfect condition. Just seeing how clean and straight the lines were on the other customers already told me everything I needed to know - this place takes meticulous to the next level! I asked for a pedicure with extra attention to the dead skin on my heels. Dang delivered and used an enzyme solution before using a metal scraper to very gently exfoliate. He and Emily are fun to talk to, and really detailed in their work. Everyone in the salon was raving about their manis and pedis. And the lady next to me kept trying to get Dang to do her manicure next lol. Be sure to call and book an appointment- this place has only been in business for one year and it is five miles out from the city center of Redding with dozens of nail salons but it is already the top-rated nail salon for good reason! My pedicure was perfect - he shaped my toenails perfectly and checked in frequently to make sure the work was the way I wanted it done. I went here based off of the reviews. Dang was amazing at nails! I mean I have done my nails by some of the top in the business where a full set was $80 and they could do everything! His technique and attention to detail and the shape was so good! I took off one star for the Pedicure :/ Although my gel pedi was nicely ahaped and the gel was well chred, when I sat down I wasnt asked what kind of pedi II wanted. They just started the water and then dried me off and started the painting. There wasn't any scrubbing and I wanted to have a paraffin wax too but I wasn't asked if I did.
