They've been at it a long time and now they're very good at imparting to others ways to breathe, stand and move that somehow engender energy, integration, and healing of body, mind and heart. I got to know them in 2015 after friends convinced me to take part in the Qigong class offered at the Crow Collection of Asian Art in the wellness program. I knew nothing about Qigong, my expectations were modest. The first class was profoundly refreshing - almost revelatory. How could a mere introduction to the ancient discipline of Qigong relieve pain, and give me the best experience of breathing I'd had in years. This may sound strange (Breathing? Really?) but I assure you it's true. I think I had forgotten how to breathe some years back, and it's been transformative to get that right again. I won't enumerate all the great outcomes. I do remain slightly mystified as to how something as subtle and quiet as this Qigong could have such far-reaching effects. Only wish I had started sooner. And I'll just add that Qigong is only a part of the healing work they do!

(pictured) I really can't believe this place can call itself a spa. Zero communication about my massage, no quiet calm voice asking me about the pressure. Just rub rub rub, fling over the sheet and rub down another spot as quickly as possible. No aromatherapy, no calming music. My dogs get better care at the groomer than whatever that was I paid for. Every service I paid for was cut short by 10-14 minutes and started late, so I paid for an hour long service and got around a 40-45 minute service. (Pictured) No lockers or slippers, from treatment room to treatment room you had to put your shoes on and carry your clothes and undergarments around. The "sauna" if you want to call it that was personalized with a printed sign taped to the shelf warning you that uou were allowed one towel and if you used more than one towel you would be charged $5.00. Zero hospitality or amenities, felt very cheap. No tranquility area to relax before or after your session, just a paper Dixie cup from the water fountain on the wall and you're sent to check out. Having your staff then ask out loud in front of the entire waiting room how much you want to tip rather than having a screen for us to choose from..... so so tacky. I was so excited for my birthday spa day and I left miserable and will now be seeing an eye doctor on my birthday. (Pictured) I've been to spas all over the world, some of them cost half of what I paid you today and I have NEVER had an experience like this. The spa is a luxury service and should be treated as such. This was a Groupon experience for sure, zero luxury here.
