We flew into Lisbon on a red-eye flight, and our standard procedure is to drop off the luggage at the hotel and then go find breakfast. Imagine our joy when we arrived at VIP Executive Picoas, and the staff offered us a room at 7 in the morning. We were beyond grateful to be able to slump down into bed, loss conscious for a few hours, then wake up and refresh ourselves before heading out to explore. It meant a day of bright-eyed wonder instead of groggy zombieism. Right there, as my head hit the pillow, I decided that this hotel deserves 5 stars.
The rating did not drop as we continued our stay. The location is great, right by an Aldi and a Pigo Doce, so it's easy to get fresh orange juice and water, as well as snacks for souvenirs. There are also several excellent bakeries for breakfast and an UN representation of restaurants. There's even a Thai massage place nearby. The hotel is mere minutes walk away from two metro stations, making it easier to reach destinations on different metro lines. There is parking space in front of the hotel, making it easy for Uber pick up.
As for the room itself, there are plentiful outlets and charging stations by bedside. Our room comes with a mini fridge, electric kettle and coffee maker. A light automatically turns on inside the closet when you open it.
When our lovely trip was unfortunately cut short due to a family emergency, the hotel was nice enough to reimburse part of our stay.
Definitely would consider staying in this hotel again on future visits. read more
