It's been a few months since I've gotten my DUB IR Tint installed by VIP Auto Customs and let me say...I am LOVING it as the weather begins to warm up. The difference in heat through my front windshield and my side tinted windows is insane. I feel cool and protected while driving in the car and super happy with my purchase/installation. I can't even imagine how hot it would be without the heat rejection tints. The weather has only been low 90s so far so I'm interested to see how it will do in the intense LA summer heat. I took my car back a 2nd time and they did correct some of the issues from the 1st trip. It looks much better now then what it did.

Had new HID fog lights fixed and installed at VIP customs after a very bad experience at another shop. It was a great experience from the beginning to the end here at VIP. The customer service here is on point and all of the workers here are very professional and knowledgeable. I was in and out of there in less than an hour. I finally replaced my stolen stereo. Dear thieves, you stole my face plate Holmes. Wanna buy the stereo base on eBay? Holla! I thought about going back to my BMW stock stereo after the face for my aftermarket system was missing. I could have ordered a new plate replacement from the manufacturer but thought better of it. I chose VIP Auto Customs for their positive Yelp reviews. Like I choose most things in life. But when I was quoted a price of $300. (twice more than the dealer quote) to reinstall my factory BMW stereo, I told the sales associate (Will) where he could shove it. Profanity included. Sorry Will! You see, I might be a dirty blond musician, but I do my own bodywork. *See profile name. So if I think a mechanic or technician is trying to pull a fast one on this girl, I put up my dukes and show off my Spanish curse words pronto. Never jump to conclusions. It gets me into more trouble! $300. might have been an appropriate price to reinstall the system had my entire car been rewired to a new amplifier. Since my aftermarket system was installed in about two hours, I was guessing it hadn't been rewired. I came in for an estimate with a sideways glance aimed at Will. After getting some solid advice about reinstalling my factory stereo, I opted to buy a whole new system (on sale) from VIP Auto Customs. When you have a convertible, taking your faceplate out of the car is like insurance on the expense of replacing the top. Been there. Done that. Don't want to do it again. Hence the original aftermarket upgrade. VIP installed my new system in less than an hour. They even gave me purified water to drink while I hung out in the cozy lounge on a soft leather sofa. I like the new system. Even though I have yet to learn how to use it. The warranty on the stereo is pretty phenomenal. Next? I'm thinking about upgrading the sound system at VIP too. Just had my front windows tint put back on. I had to put it down when I was pulled over by the CHP a few months ago. Fast Friendly and Attention to Details. The old adage you get what you pay for holds true. Recently needed to get the front windows tinted for the wife's car and had limited time. Yes, some people work and have tight schedules and don't have the time to wait 45 min to be #5 in line. I have been going to CA tint, they are pretty cheap compared to VIP, BUT you end up having to wait a hell of a long time before you get your car back. I decided to try VIP since they are closer and took APPOINTMENTS. This worked out very well and I was amazed how efficiently the guys got the work done. LESS THAN 40min and the quality and attention to detail looked great! Was more pricey than most, it would have been the same price as other places if I did the YELP 100 for 75 offer, my bad. Summary pay the premium if you want prompt efficient service with good attention to detail. The sticker reminding you to not open your windows for 3 days is a nice touch. Definitely will come here again hopefully I'll do the Yelp deal next time. read more

I came here about a two years ago to get the viper alarm system installed in my car. Customer service and installation was great (so I thought) but it was very expensive, in my opinion. Things like this really have made me do research before getting any work on my car done, rather than just fully trusting the shops. I was charged $250 for the installation (Installation + Viper 3105V alarm system). The alarm system alone is around $80 at Best Buy, Amazon, etc. I understand that it takes about 2 hours to install an alarm system, however $65 per hour is crazy, especially when I realized that it was not even set up correctly. I would not have minded before as long as job was done correct but now feel betrayed. The alarm is supposed to have a shock sensor so when you slap your vehicle it will give a warning alarm and when you hit your vehicle hard like a punch, head-butt etc, the alarm will then go off fully. This does not happen. Honestly, I have thought about returning to the shop to get this figured out but do not feel like returning because I feel that, because I am a female, I may be treated differently since I am not knowledgeable on the functions of the system. This unfortunately pushes me away from going to shops like this because it's honestly kind of sad that I paid for a service and this is dishonest. I should have checked to make sure everything worked before leaving the shop that day but I trusted they did a perfect A++ job. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. Since, then I have done my research and know what to do. Shop should have inspected everything was working before giving the car back to me though. It's a disappointment. Any ladies out there thinking about going to shops out on your own to get work done on your car, make sure you do your research and are knowledgable on the service you are paying for as people like this find it easy to use your trust to over charge or not do a good job. Peace. ________________________________________ Robert, although I do appreciate your response I must say that even though I had expressed I needed this car alarm system because of my neighborhood recently dealing with a lot of gang members vandalizing property, I had to deal with the consequences of the car alarm not being "adjusted" to any sensitivity at all. You can even open and close the doors and car alarm does not go off - at all. I trusted that it would at least have SOME sensitivity, but truth is, it does not. Unfortunately, my car was vandalized. My car was hit by a BRICK and the car alarm did not go off. My car had a bunch of random cholos sitting on it and car alarm did not go off. My car had a rock thrown at it and car alarm did not go off. I thought I was making an investment to prevent something like this happening to my car SO OFTEN and it did not. I don't have a garage which lead to me to get this alarm system. I trusted you to have set this up and I trusted the car alarm to work. It really sucks that this happened to me and now I have to deal with it. Again, price was not my concern, I thought I was getting a great deal to protect myself and my car. I would have even paid more for something that would have cost me Less in the long run. My car is one of the very little important things I have and I take pride in it. You can imagine how it feels to have one of your very little prized possessions get f@!$ up. It freaking sucks. I will never trust you guys again, this experience really bit me right back in the butt. I gave you two stars because you guys were so nice and pleasant from her start, however you're not reliable. I recently bought a car and this Miami girl just could not deal with the blazing HOT SoCal sun any longer!! My husband scored us a Groupon for VIP Customs on the same day we wanted to go in. He then called them up and Oscar answered. He was able to see us the same afternoon...yay! We dropped off the car and got it back less than two hours later. We paid $250 total (Groupon* + upgrades in-store**) Granted, $250 is the most we have ever paid for 3M tints EVER anywhere but it is a very very good price for Southern California s9o we were happy. *Groupon had an additional sale going on that further reduced the price for the voucher. **The Groupon covered just the back two windows and the rear window with a basic film. We paid the difference to add on the front (driver & passenger windows), the upgrade to the 3M Color Stable film which offers never-fade technology, no signal interference, it reduces glare, rejects up to 57% of the suns heat from coming in. The icing on the cake was that Oscar threw in the strip on the front windshield for free. Nice touch! A good thing to note is that 3M includes a limited lifetime warranty which can be used at ANY authorized 3M dealer in the country. The tints will never fade, change color or bubble. Oscar and his team did a fantastic job on the tints of my little four door car. They provided excellent service with a smile throughout. VIP Customs doesn't just do tints. They also do clear film paint protection (on the entire car, just a bra, or even just the headlights), they do headlight restorations, they do car alarms, backup cameras, etc etc. Lots of good stuff happening here. This review is for their COVID19 protocols - or lack thereof. Masks are not enforced in this estalishment. Employees and one customer who was there while I was in their office were not wearing masks. (This customer coughed, which alarmed me considering how small the office is). I told the owner of my concern. I am in the health care industry and have worked with many terminal patients. By not enforcing mask protocols, this establishment apparently does not believe the disease is real. The establishment is not safeguarding the health of their customers and employees. Trust me, I've seen COVID19 and its ugly effects on patients and hospital staff. I've seen cases in hospitals where people are getting sick and need life support. While it's true not everyone will die from COVID19, which is great, the disease can be severe enough to affect someone's life forever. I thought of reporting the establishment to the Pasdena Health Dept. to investigate potential violations of COVID19 protocols/regulations, but I'd wait for the business to respond to this write-up. I want to know moving forward how they are going to strictly enforce the city's mask ordinance. If not, then I can always contact a colleague there in the Pasadena Health Dept. to pay a visit to the business. With regard to the quality of work, I will reserve my judgement and wait for another week to see how the job holds up. read more

I went in to VIP Auto with my Ford Transit Connect van to have the front windows tinted. I walked in a was greeted by Oscar instantly. Very knowledgeable and answered all my questions, also very friendly he acted as if he knew me as an old customer of friend which is a big plus!!! We agreed on what to do and I brought my van back the next day. The work done by Rene was fantastic I couldn't be happier and I can be known as a pain to work with as a customer. I was impressed with VIP so I talked to Oscar about some emergency flashing lights to be installed on the back doors of my van. A couple weeks later when I had time I came back in to have them installed. And WOW the job looked like it was done at the Ford factory I was so impressed. So it's been a while since I've had to deal with V I P Auto Customs, more than a month now to get everything "fixed" and it's still not fixed they're a joke. The story goes that I wanted window tinting and how I opted to get the 3M crystalline window tint on all my windows, I looked through authorized dealers through the 3M website and found them. I called them up and seemed to be priced competitively and they were the closest one to my location so I chose them BIG MISTAKE. Now I have to live with my mistakes like getting a bad haircut. They do the window tint within an hour, other places actually take their time and care for their customers. Not these guys, they rushed me in and out. They didn't put any courtesy stickers on my window switches, they removed my dash cam and didn't have the common courtesy to reinstall it, they left my side mirror folded in, when they finished my car they just said keys in the car and walked off just little details that I shouldn't even have to worry about that's the customer service. Now with the actual product the front windshield was blurry in the night, the glare from oncoming traffic was horrible, traffic lights were blinding everything was amplified and it was horrible. Now they replaced it once, same issue, they replaced it again and it's still not perfect. They try to tell me it's the product and it'll never be perfect but it's just them, their technique is off, they don't care, they're just a speed shop. They try to claim their authorized but there should be standards set, they should be retrained or get people that actually care about doing a good job without being rushed. My recommendation is to stay away!!! read more
