Went for valentines day brunch with the bestie. Very attentive and friendly staff. I had the viollettes benedict, very tasty. Bestie had the breakfast chorizo panini, and we shared the house potatoes. They have alcoholic coffees, iced or hot, you can also get them virgin. They offer unlimited mimosas for 90 mins $20 but that includes reg mimosas, bloody marys, and sangria. I opted for. Blueberry peach Bellini instead since i was driving. The food and ambiance is good, HOWEVER, they are NOT handicap accessible, which makes it impossible to have a party there and invite the elderly family members that cannot go down or up the stairs. I called and they confirmed that they are not handicap accessible. I have no idea why, such a good restaurant cannot install, a ramp to accommodate the people who have disabilities and cannot do steps. Last time we were here we were having brunch with neighbors and me and the wife had bloody Mary's which for me were nice and spicy . The wife not so much . They also offered mimosas as well. I was there today for a friend's birthday brunch. It's very cutely decorated, but a bit confusing because it has brunch, dinner, tapas, and also a speakeasy. I feel they should stick to one theme. I came here to catch up with my friend after 4 months of separation (thanks pandemic). They did a really good job of separating the tables and there were fans set up to make it less hot since it was 90+ degrees. The service was a little slow but I don't blame the waiters because it is hard to keep going in and out of the restaurant. All of the waiters were wearing masks which is a great sign and shows that they are following the necessary Covid precautions. The food was very good. We were given complementary croissants. I ordered the truffle egg toast and my friend ordered the cookie butter flapjacks. We also ordered a side of the maple sausage which was delicious. For drinks, we opted to do the bottomless cocktails, ordered a mimosa each, and then switched off to a pitcher of Bellinis for the table. Overall, it was a great tasting brunch but definitely not the cheapest option. The bill came out to about 80 dollars Pre tip. I definitely recommend this restaurant for a great tasting meal, just be weary of the cost if you choose to be a frequent customer. read more

So, we decided to make reservations for VC about a week and a half ago. They said they had absolutely no reservations. The lady put me on hold came back and said someone will call me tomorrow she may have something for sit down brunch. Well, I did receive that phone call promptly the next day. She also asked for my credit card to hold my reservation. Ugh, not a big fan of giving out my credit card number but okay! Fast forward to today.. We arrived on time and what a mess. It was raining and when walking up to VC it has a narrow stair way to go down and that was the only cover for the rain. It was hard to get down the stairs bc people were blocking the way (aka Hazard)! The hostess took a good ten minutes to figure out where to seat us. She also noted there was another person with the same exact name that came prior. Side note- don't you take reservations to work out seating plans prior so you don't keep patrons waiting? VC's ambience is unique with different rooms and different feels. We were in the wine room. When we were seated there was one other table. It was quiet and somewhat comfortable until other people arrived. This was a prix fixed brunch for Mother's Day. We basically had to pick just a "entree". A young male waiter came over to take care of us. We had ordered our entrees, coffee, I asked for sugar in the raw, and a mimosa. Since it seems the waiter wrote NOTHING down, he forgot half the order. He seemed like he aimed to please, but he def fell short. The croissants and muffins were served warm. They were basic nothing unique or special. For Brunch: French toast with unicorn dust. Let me tell you how much sugar and unicorn dust was on this French toast. I could have made a batch of cookies with the extra sugar on the dish! The toast was fluffy and moist but ease up, someone will go into diabetic coma .. I had ordered The fried chicken and waffles. Again, I asked the waiter when ordering, is the chicken with this dish a chicken breast? his reply: yes! There's a few things I hate in life: chicken tenders is one of them.. I think it's the cheapest pieces of white meat you can serve to a guest. The chicken wasn't even fried ala minute. The crust was mushy and not even seasoned well, extremely bland! The cheddar waffle was delicious and crunchy. The syrup was spicy and brought it all together. The sides : bacon, sausage and potatoes(sweet and white) were very good. For dessert: cookies and brownies and a few pieces of fruit. I found the brownies extremely sweet and the cookies just the same. The fruit was on the same dish which made everything soggy. After being disappointed about service discrepancies through out the meal, I get the check and there is a mandatory 20% gratuity added on. I have been to hundreds of restaurants everywhere and I've never seen such Greed and Disrespect towards patrons in my life. There was 2 patrons in this party not 6. Even when there is 6 patrons they charge 18%. My waiter did not deserve a 20% tip. VC needs to teach their waitstaff to write things down and to not forget what there patrons ask for. The food here needs to greatly improve. You need to accomplish great things to earn a big tip, that includes impeccable customer service and amazing food!! We came here for a friends bday. We walked in to have 4 people staring at us at the bar. For 5 minutes they are discussing why there's no one at the hostess station. Finally someone came over and sat us. The dining room has probably a max of 10 tables. The waiter kept walking around our table for 10-15 minutes. He finally came over and we ordered everything at once since we had been there for awhile. My friend ordered the focaccia bread, 4oz a5 wagyu beef and traditional mashed potatoes. My sister ordered from the restaurant week menu. She got the pear salad, and cauliflower steak. I got the meatballs and the filet mignon. The apps came out piping hot. One of the best tasting meatballs I've had. It has a little spice to it. It's a very soft meatball which I'm not a fan of but since it tasted so good I kept eating. The focaccia was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My favorite toppings for the bread was the truffle butter. My sister enjoyed her salad. Our mains took awhile to come out but they were worth it. My friends wagyu came on a pedostol thiny sliced. His steak wasn't cooked the way he asked. He enjoyed the steak but didn't like the sauce that was included. All our food was nicely plated. My filet was very good. It was seasoned and the tastes great with the gravy. I loved the mashed potatoes but they had put some kind of root vegetable mixed into it which I didn't like. My sister ate everything on her plate. Our waiter periodically checked on us. I've been to Violette's Cellar a few times and pretty much every time has been good experience. The quality of food here is excellent, though I suppose it can get a little pricey. I've only had dinner here so can't comment on lunch/brunch. The ambiance is beautiful especially around Christmas and located in the "basement", it really is a cellar atmosphere. My favorite dish is the mushroom garganelli which even the pickiest eaters enjoyed. I've also had the chicken caesar salad as well which although is simple, was delicious. The patatas bravas were crazy good. The only dish I don't recommend is the grilled chicken which was very thin and very overpriced. Their coconut caramel cappuccino is amazing but I like both of those flavors. They have a wide range of coffees to choose from. Yikes. Came here with a friend while visiting some family. The bread was delish. The cocktails were watered down. The Negroni was not a Negroni. Tried an old fashioned next which also did not taste like an old fashioned. My friend's cocktails were like sugar water. I got the filet mignon, which was actually pretty good 3.5/5 stars, and the mashed potatoes were great. My friend got the chicken and literally left half of her entree behind because she didn't think it was good enough to save. My husband and I made an 11am reservation on a Saturday for our Anniversary today. On yelp, it said the restaurant opens at 10am on Saturdays. We showed up 15 minutes early for your 11am reservation, not knowing they actually open at 11am. The front door was opened so we walked in and told a worker we had 11am reservations. He gave us a nasty glare and said "we're not open". When we told him that Yelp said they were open at 10am, he just responded in a condescending voice, "no, we open at 11am" as if we were idiots and didn't know how to read. Then he ignored us and continued setting tables. We tried to not take it personally. I'm 5 months pregnant and didn't want to walk back to the car so we just sat in the waiting area since our reservation was in 15 minutes. But then a lady walks by, glares at us with a side eye and goes to the worker and loudly says "who are these people??". We felt so unwelcomed, as if we were a huge bother to them for want to dine at their restaurant. Instead of just coming up to us and simply asking us, she gave off a bad attitude. We felt uncomfortable enough, so we got up and left. The appetizers and brunch selections were on-balance good, though a bit salty. The problem were the nicely presented, $13 drinks that tasted like dressed-up lychee fruit punch... We are frequent customers at Violette's and normally the service and food is pretty good.. It's a very nice place.., until today.. We chose to do their Mother's Day Brunch for 12pm reservation for that seating time... for 69.99 each for 4 people.. When we get there 20 minutes early we checked in and went to the bar.. 40 minutes later still no table. After being a squeaky wheel we get seated a little before one... Mind you this is supposed to be to be a buffet but for eggs and pancakes you had to stand on another line for 15 minutes because they only had one person at the griddle. When I got to be served they gave me 1 underdone pancake... the station with bacon and sausage was cold.. we waited another 10 minutes for a server for water and coffee... which showed up about 10 minutes later. I had to go to the bar to ask for a glass of water... What really added insult to injury is when I got the check. They had the gall to add a 43.00 tip to my bill... I immediately went to management and they tried to tell me that it was what they usually do. I protested and asked them to show me on their advertisement where they add gratuity to bills.. They couldn't because it's not there so I had them remove the gratuity... The tip I left was "learn how to run a buffet"... This ruined my wife's Mother's Day ... read more

Came here for a Saturday brunch with my girls & had a great experience!! We had a 12pm reservation and were seated right away. The atmosphere was so fitting, everything in violet from the seating to the lights, really beautiful! The menu was great and extensive with so many options! The drinks here are a 10/10, so good and greatly priced! Food was great too, some orders smaller than others but taste is so there. Came here for an early dinner with a friend. The service was good.. the hostess & waiter were nice. The mixed drinks were ok. I ordered lobster Mac and cheese & a spinach salad. The Mac and cheese was lukewarm at best. The flavor wasn't bad but since it wasn't warm enough I didn't really enjoy it. The spinach salad had bacon & tomato on it. The bacon looked like it came out of a container from the supermarket. Overall I felt like the food was not made with care. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived (1 other group already eating) so I assumed the quality of the food made would be better. I would never come back here. I am completely disgusted by the management here. First of all the employees do not know how to wear a mask. Secondly, the "manager" Marina was so incompetent. A table behind us with a bunch of kids kept bumping into us and hitting my friend in the back of the head with a balloon. We were okay, we didn't say anything, lifted our tables up and moved it. THEY CONTINUE TO COME BY US AND HIT US WITH THE BALLOON after we moved. Then the mom gets up and starts to yell at us and tapped my friend. The manager comes over and goes... "you cant do this" without knowing what happen and then starts interrogating us. She doesn't say anything to the other family nor did she apologize or said anything for what happen. She then adds extra stuff onto our bill that we did not order... didnt even say thanks or anything after we paid. Their outdoor dining spot is so cute and decorated very nicely with nice sized fans to keep you cool. I was just slightly disappointed because when I looked at the brunch menu online it seemed that the bottomless drinks would be all of the brunch drinks on the menu, but upon ordering the waiter told us it's just the basic mimosas and bellinis. No worries, we just got those and purchased some of the other drinks as well (the boozy coffees were great). I tried chicken and waffles for the first time and really liked their spin on a classic brunch dish! The service was friendly and even brought a complimentary slice of cake for my birthday.
