I just ended my last Shadow Work session with Jacque and it was absolutely bittersweet. If you don't know, shadow work is different from talk therapy. I saw Jacque for Shadow Work WHILE still going to my therapist and LET ME TELL YOU, I started going to my therapy sessions just to steal the words out of my therapist's mouth. While I still enjoy counseling, I don't feel as dependent on it as I used to. Before starting shadow work, I very naturally sought validation from others, and now I find myself yearning for that validation, but then stopping myself and reminding myself that I know what is best for my life, and I don't need the validation or approval of others to make decisions for my own life. I also used to resent others for having freedoms that I didn't have, and now I find myself recreating my life so that I can enjoy those same freedoms.
