Dr. Edward Lam is an exceptional physician who prioritizes his clients' care first and foremost. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful, caring, personable, compassionate and deeply dedicated to his patients and staff. After my appointment this past Tuesday, I left feeling completely satisfied with the services provided. Dr. Lam always takes the time to listen and answer all of my questions and concerns. He was extremely empathetic when I explained to him I had lost my mother to cancer. The administrative and clinical experience was just as wonderful as the medical care. The receptionists and medical staff are incredibly friendly, customer service oriented, and really fast through checking me out. Unfortunately, I was running a little late to my appointment so I called to let the staff know; they kindly told me to drive safely and that it was okay. Scheduling an appointment is easy because the staff are so quick and on top of everything--they even already scheduled me for my next annual appointment for next year. Another great asset to this office is the free validated parking in the basement structure, which is awesome! I am incredibly grateful to have found such a wonderful and thorough doctor. Thank you, Dr. Edward Lam and staff!

The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the front desk employee who checks patients in at the desk on the left side when you walk in. Both times I've been here, she's come across as cold and unwelcoming. Her tone is very monotone, and it felt like I was bothering her just by checking in. During my follow-up visit, it looked like she was eating lunch, so maybe the timing wasn't ideal, but this was the second time I had the same experience. After my first visit, I figured maybe she was just having a bad day. But after the same interaction happened again, I felt it was worth mentioning. I'm not trying to be mean or get anyone in trouble. I just think the person who greets patients is the first impression of the office, and a simple smile or friendly attitude can make a big difference. Especially in a healthcare setting where people may already be stressed or nervous. Other than that, my experience was great, and I'd definitely come back. I just hope the front desk experience becomes as welcoming as the care provided by everyone else.

I told him about my horrible experience at the Kaiser Urgent Care (since nothing else was open on Monday-a holiday). I told him about how they just treated me like a number and didn't run any tests (no nose swab to test for flu, no bloodwork, etc). All the doctor did was ask some questions and told me to basically rest it out and take Over the Counter meds (which I already told him wasn't working). I really felt like he was trying to get in and out of his office. Honestly I've had much better experience at the Straub Urgent Care but my insurance doesn't cover that :( Anyways, knowing that my insurance changed from HMSA to Kaiser, he printed out coupons from Good Rx and was so apologetic about my experience at Urgent Care even though it wasn't even his fault. He properly diagnosed why I was having the type of coughing I am and gave me the right medications for it (because that's what a doctor should do). As busy as he is with flu season, he was caring and even remembers details about my life/profession. While I can't promise every person is going to have the same experience, I can say that there's a reason I've seen him for years. I won't be switching doctors until I can find someone comparable in-network.
