This shop is smaller than I imagined but well stocked with more unique wine offerings than most shops. They have a small cheese fridge and other snacks, as well as drink ware. Parking can be challenging in this area but free street parking is the game here. read more

Lovely wine shop in Silver Lake. They carry a great selection of women-made or women-involved wines across a wide range of price points. I always enjoy chatting with the staff--they're friendly, knowledgeable, and their recommendations have been consistently solid. read more

We love Vinovore! This is wonderful shop that curates local women-made wine, gifts, books & other local artisan products! Everything here is truly awesome! We especially LOVE their monthly tastings, "Vinovore Sunsets" at the Silver Lake Pool & Inn! They highlight a different guest winemaker every 2nd Thursday of the month and it's so much fun to go to. Plus a ticket is only $15?! Come on, that's a steal! We can't say enough about this place; and if you're looking for great wine, if you love to support local, if you're looking for a great (and inexpensive) date night - check out Vinovore! read more

Pros: Very well curated*, so not too overwhelming. Cute illustration on the wall helps you decide what wine animal you are. Chocolate! A thoughtful gift for just about anyone. Con: *Offering a book literally titled "Lesbian Sex Secrets for Men," co+written by a man, is not a good look. Read the intro for maximum embarrassment. This Queer was grossed out. Catering to men is never feminism; fetishizing Queerness is gross. Curate a little more, please. read more

Just wanted to update the review since it's been a year. ****COVID RELATED INFO**** so this place is doing a great job at making sure people are safe as well as the staff here. Now instead of going in the store they have a little drive thru like window where you can purchase whatever you want and get it without having to be near others or in an indoor space. It's a great way to stay open during these uncertain times. My bf and I really enjoy this place. They have a wonderful assortment of wines. read more

Vinovore is a really cool little wine shop on Hoover with the most esoteric, interesting bottles. I love that they have wines at all price points. You can get a really unique bottle for around $20. I have to say, the wines they choose also look pretty cool so they are very gift-worthy. For some reason staff is not sweet. I'd buy a whole lot more but it always seems like they are bothered coming to the window. And they're impatient. I wonder what their strategy is on this. Come on.... just be sweet! Vinovore, where they never know your name and are not so glad you came! I just ignore this, however and grab a great bottle of wine! read more

Wonder what it feels like to be seen? Vinovore, I see you! I feel like this could be my favorite wine shop in LA. It has vibrators and wine. A collection of gifts that you won't likely find anywhere else and all the wines are made by women. read more

Coly really helped me out when I was in a pinch needing a gift delivered to a special friend's 40th birthday. I first chose this place (browsing options from the east coast) because of their beautiful gift boxes with so many great products to fill them with, but was so touched by the extra care I received when I emailed following my order with a delivery request. Coly followed up with me every step of the way. I am truly appreciative of this and would recommend this shop to anyone, and also for gifting. I can't wait to visit in person. Big thanks! My friend loved her gift and I'm sure she will be back to shop too! read more

My favorite wine store in Silverlake. Always a good selection of wines and Champagne at a reasonable price point. Always very nice to customers. I love their wine descriptions every bottle. Last but not least, they support women wine producers. read more

We went to Bar Keeper to do some last minute holiday shopping, and we were happy to find there was a cute wine shop right next door. We'd been tasked with bringing a couple bottles to Christmas lunch at Matt B.'s aunt's, and Vinovere saved us an extra errand. The store was charming, cheerful and bright, with wine bottles and related home goods attractively arranged from wall to wall. There was a small staff--just two women, I think--and they were friendly and helpful. One of them helped us select two bottles, and the other answered my questions about the shop as we checked out. Vinovere specializes in wines produced by female winemakers (I guess men can be involved, but the standard is that a woman must be high up in the winery to qualify). It's the only store I've ever heard of with this focus, and I found it cool rather than gimmicky. Obviously not the kind of thing that would've been here before people started calling it Hoover Village, but no one said white gentrifiers never had good ideas. The wine selection was extensive, and I liked the other goods, too. We picked up a pretty corkscrew, and I appreciated the display of books written by female authors. I liked Vinovere and would recommend it for all your wine-related needs. I expect I'll come back, especially with Bar Keeper next door. It's a great place to pick up a bottle or two and support some cool women while you're at it. read more

Vinovore - a person holding up a tarot book - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Los Angeles, California

A feminist wine shop! I'm so excited this gem is in the neighborhood. Vinovore curates delicious wines from all over the world from lady winemakers, which is brilliant. I came here because they were hosting an adoption event with MaeDay Rescue. Getting to cuddle puppies and taste wine is pretty much the best way to spend a Saturday. Part of their wine sales was donated to the rescue, so of course we had to pick up a bottle of wine. We grabbed a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from High Valley Vineyard that we had tasted. It was reasonably priced, only $15, and it was delicious. Definitely tasted more expensive, so it's a wonderful value. My husband became enamored with a slingshot with a fox's face on it, so we took that home instead of a puppy (probably for the best). So not only do they have lots of wine, they also have cute gifts. I'll definitely be back to buy more wine and support female winemakers! read more

Nice little spot that I found after an art show! It has different types of wines categorized by your personality type. On the wall, it will explain the different color of stickers represent what type of taste you are fond of. They also have birthday cards, wine openers, and gift sets. read more

Vinovore - Wine shop - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Los Angeles, California

I was excited to see there was a new wine shop in the neighborhood. However, found that they have a small selection and it was hard to find any wines below $20. I got four wines, all $30. The sparkling wine we tried was not worth $30- was very sweet and with little structure. And I found it elsewhere for half the price. We also tried a Pinot noir, very very light almost like drinking a rose. Their descriptions of the wines- despite being lengthy- don't accurately describe actual wine taste. And just because the wines are hard to find doesn't make them good. Putting a hefty price tag on a plonk wine doesn't make it good either. When I walked in, staff didn't even look at me, eventually saying hello. Nobody came to ask if I needed help or had questions. Yet once you pay there is a tip option. Tip for what, is that a thing now for retail? I get if someone is helpful and/or for wine tasting but for me grabbing a bottle from the cooler and them ringing it up on the cash register? read more

Women owned, organic, amazing curation... What's not to love? Fantastic service and knowledge. I love going there just to learn about different wine that I have never tried before. They also have a little store mixed in which is perfect for getting gifts or just getting yourself a little something nice. You have to check them out! read more

I have supported this store for years, loved ordering pickup and online. Even sport a tote bag of theirs in support of them. The one time I went to shop in person a few years ago for a birthday gift, I was treated pretty rudely. I was super excited to come to the shop in person and greeted the worker with a warm hello! I was not met with a hello and ignored. I asked the female employee for help looking for a particular type of wine and was given a quick up and down glance, clear dismissal of body language, and a casual instruction to look for what type im looking for but they most likely don't have that type of wine. I was kind of shocked that I was not able to be helped but started looking around. While I was looking around another customer came in and the employee immediately went over to them to help them. I was even more shocked and felt completely slighted. I waited until the customer was done being help to physically go up to the female worker to ask again if they carried a type of wine. I got another causal most likely not answer but nothing clear. It felt very clear that this woman was not going to help me. I left in complete shock and disappointment. I supported this store for years thinking their mission was women empowering and supporting other women, but that day all I felt was just another overpriced wine store with a fake agenda and judgmental women. I don't understand what happened and I'm hoping it's an isolated issue with one employee, but the store needs to make their employees understand that if that is really their mission statement and not just a front fake for marketing, that everyone needs to leave their agenda at the door and support each other while on the clock. If I knew I was going to walk into this type of situation I would have gone to BevMo. read more

A really wonderful new wine shop. I came in here looking for a particular producer they ended up not having but had a wonderful chat with the owner who recommended another bottle that I bought and loved. They only sell wine made by women winemakers! What an awesome concept. I will definitely be back here. This is a great addition to the LA wineshop scene with a really unique selection that is well worth checking out, a great mission that is worth supporting and a really friendly and helpful staff. read more

Vinovore - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Such an amazing wine shop and an equally lovely staff; so grateful to have this place in my neighborhood.

Feminist wine shop FTW. It's been interesting to see all the changes on this little stretch of Hoover. Now having been to Vinovore, I think it's my favorite new edition. Stopped in here yesterday to pick up a bottle of wine for my friend's b-day. She likes a red that'll punch you in the face, and thanks to Vinovore's cleverly-worded descriptions, I felt confident that I'd found a winner: a wine from Uruguay described as a "broody weirdo." I also picked up a four-pack of Tin City's Poly Dolly Cider, a blend of cider and rosé that comes in a delightfully pink can (so basic, I know). I'm ready to dub this the Drink of Summer 2018. Love the fact that most (if not all?) of the wine they sell is from women winemakers. Makes shopping here just a little bit more special, and worth the extra coin that you'd save getting wine at Trader Joe's. Plus, I don't even need to get in my car (bonus!). read more

I love this place. I dare you to read all of the incredible, staff-written wine descriptions and make an easy decision. Everything always sounds so amazing, I'm perpetually afraid of having wine FOMO. Thanks to the amazing team there, they are always so quick to help me make those impossible decisions. And thanks to the excellent curation of this shop-- it's impossible to leave with a disappointing bottle. Most of their selection sits right around $20-25, but you'll find a few around $15. Whatever you pick-- worth every penny. Eclectic, interesting, & complex: everything carried here is chosen with love and care. Next time you head to a dinner party, stop here first and you'll be everyone's favorite guest-- I promise. read more

So lucky to be so close to Vinovore! Amazing selection, awesome staff, and they sell super cool cards, gifts and other fun stuff. I always pick something I knew I'll like like a Cab Sauv then try to get adventurous with a red sparkling or whatever is recommended. Their new window shop front is super safe and convenient too! read more

The store's website was helpful. I had to use it while I was in the store to figure out which wine would be best for me. The two sales people in the store offered NO help to me at all. I had to go back and forth looking up the wines on my phone for at least 20 minutes while they stood behind the counter talking to each other. When I entered the store a customer was getting 1 on 1 attention. I got excited. Unfortunately, once she left I received zero attention and I was the only customer in the entire store. The Due Terra wine was good. Difficult parking. read more

I was excited to try their selection. The guy working was less than helpful and had an attitude. I was the only one in the store. I came in looking for a couple of options based on my taste. I'm not an expert on natural wines but I know enough. I ended up choosing one of their signature wines and I was hungover for 2 days. Maybe that's why he didn't recommend it or seem happy that I was going with that one. I'll be going elsewhere. No thanks. read more

Wonderful wonderful wine shop. Staff is super helpful, fun to chat with, and kind. Weekends here can be busy with events and tastings on the sidewalk outside. There are bottles for every price range and bottles I don't see available anywhere else in LA. My favorite neighborhood wine shop! read more

I started out just buying a bottle here or a bottle there, but after being overly delighted with every single pick the owner suggested, I decided to face reality and became a yearly wine club member. I'm so so glad I did! There's something subtly different about all the wines coming from only female winemakers and the prices here are so affordable. No more wine shopping at Trader Joes for me--ever again! Their in-store tastings with these incredible women winemakers are so much fun and such a unique and special experience. I feel like I'm in my own version of Chef's Table by the inspiration I get from these winemakers and hearing their personal stories. Why would I want to spend a Tuesday night any other way? Next tasting though, I'm bringing a bottle of coconut water because these tastings are very generous! Thank you for being here and I look forward to the next month's surprise bottles. read more

We went to the opening of Maeday Outpost today and stopped by Vinovore after to check out the space. So cool! I love that you can walk in, grab some wine and even a gift if you're on the way to a party. They have all kinds of great books, wine openers and home accessories. We bought an affordable Pinot Grigio to celebrate our new dog adoption -- delicious, light and bright! Will be back for more! read more

Rude, rude, rude. Begrudgingly will help you find a wine. A "hello" when you walk in would be nice, too. I'm not alone in these thoughts. Handful of similar experiences. Shame as they have a lovely selection. Go across the street to the Corner Shop. Much nicer and he was a former sommelier. Bar Keep is great for liquor. read more

I have no words that do Vinovore justice. This place was a fortunate stroll of serendipity. The staff and owner are incredible. Everything from their graphic design, labels, and decor makes me want to return. I hope they don't move locations because it's a sweet spot near my home. All Womyn made wines is something I stand by 100%! Love this place. They saved my life with wonderful recommendations. Great place to pick up wine for any occasion. If you have any doubt - don't. What a fantastic wine store! Incredibly thoughtful, knowledgeable and helpful staff. This store focuses mainly on female vintners, and the selection is perfect. Unique wines & reasonably priced by women owned wine, sake and beer. Orders can be made online for pick up or for local shipping, for convenient. Popped in here for a bottle this morning to have with brunch at Jewel up the street. We also bought a pound of coffee at the counter that smells like heaven. What a sweet little store. This is my new favorite place! Amazing wines - great prices, all female wine makers and most wines are vegan! They allow dogs and they have wine tastings. They have this great coloring system to help you pick the kind of wine you like based on your palate and mood! I'm a new regular! read more

My favorite place! They have the most knowledgeable and friendly staff, incredible wine selection, fun ambiance. They have a great selection with a wide range of prices. If you want a $13 bottle that's also incredible, or a $45 bottle that's incredible, this is the perfect spot. They also have a wine club as well as various fun events if you sign up for their mailing list. Great local spot. A staple in the neighborhood. Also, female only winemakers is such a niche thing, but if anything it makes the wine selection more curated and the labels more attractive. read more
