Nothing beats coming to Psychic Wines when we need to pair our dinner with a good wine. The ambiance is chill and relaxing, not to mention it's refreshing to have such knowledgeable people working the floor. They have a great selection too!

Psychic is the secret headquarters of the natural wine movement in Los Angeles. Housed in an urban red brick building in the middle of a funky cluster of Silverlake bungalows, the lowkey shop features the most colorful, playful bottles in the city. If you want to feel cool, like you have a pulse on the LA bohemian beat, pull off the 101 freeway at Benton way and look for the wine glass logo with an all-seeing eye. The front window is plastered with leftist flyers calling for defunding the police and echoing rallying cries of Bernie campaign past. Sunshine streams through the massive front window dousing the natural wine in natural light. If you're still wondering what the heck makes the wine natural, ask the employees. Knowledgable and down to earth, they'll describe the tangy flavors and mouth feels created by the fermenting process in a relatable way to guide you exactly where you want to go on your vino journey. Dozens of bottles call out to you from the shelves with artsy labels giving the whole place a gallery vibe. The fridge is stocked with reds, white, pinks, and oranges that come in flat or bubbly options. There is a wide selection of prices starting in the low 20s to fit your budget. If that feels higher than the $3 Trader Joe's stuff you usually gulp, treat yourself to a whole new drinking experience.

This is my favorite wine shop in all of LA for many reasons. I never drank wine until I tried a bottle of Tre dame rose some years ago during the pandemic. Since then, I've come to psychic for every special occasion. I know I'll find something incredible for birthday dinners, potlucks or celebrating the holidays with family. This place is fun and so are the people who work here. Big love to Riley and PJ!! For their wine knowledge and fabulous customer service.

Such a good neighborhood wine shop! My only wish is that they made it more evident on their Yelp page, social, or website that they're only open for curbside and that you need to call ahead (D'oh! Should've checked out Tobi K's review ahead of time). I was given a gift card for my birthday and headed here on a Friday afternoon only to find that they're not open for shopping right now. The upside? I gave them a call and whoever was managing the shop was totally helpful, gave me a great recommendation, and I was able to pay over the phone for a contactless pickup. I can absolutely give five stars to that! I'm exploring natural wines lately and asked about a two popular-ish brands over the phone. They don't carry either, but the staff member went through a few similar wines while also highlighting the winemaker, where the wine is made, and the price point. How helpful is that? I'd definitely take a virtual tasting class or something like that if this shop were to offer it. Parking was easy on Bellevue and (especially when the world isn't struck down by a pandemic), this is a darling block with a great place to get your haircut (The Harbor) and a bagel shop (haven't been yet, but this was a nice reminder).

He was highly professional, apologized for the unacceptable service, assured me he had spoken to the staff so it wouldn't happen again, and went out of his way to completely cover the cost of my order. It takes a lot for a business to own their mistakes and make it right, and I really appreciate that ownership actually cares about their customers. ORIGINAL EXPERIENCE: Do not order delivery directly from their website. I originally placed an order online for a couple beers and two bottles of liquor, and despite living only 2.8 miles away, I was called by an employee named Angelo who told me it would take 4 hours to deliver. When I expressed frustration, he offered zero compensation or alternative solutions. He claimed there was "no manager" to speak to, and told me to just go use DoorDash or Grubhub instead because nobody wanted to drive a moped less than 3 miles. It is incredibly frustrating when a business takes your money for an advertised service, refuses to fulfill it, and then tells you to go pay extra fees on a third-party app. Overall, I'm giving 3 stars because Amar's excellent response and accountability balanced out Angelo's initial terrible service.

All about the Boomtown Brewery!…read more This Arts District favorite is a beat away from Union Station where I typically make my way over from to enjoy all the good good that Boom has to offer. Located on Jackson Street between N Vignes Street and Center Street (but actually on the corner on Vignes) you can find local street parking throughout the area, but nothing beats a train ride or a ride share to enjoy responsibly. Always have a great time here on the inside or their long patio with flat screens outdoors (as well as in) to catch the latest events. DJs always spinning the best beats. The brewery where the make the magic is pretty spacious yet intimate. Was able to go on a tour here and learn more about the ins and outs. The taproom is stellar for group hangs and socials. Pool tables, photo booth, arcade style games, loungey area, communal seating, and local food vendors who come out and serve up great eats. Not as many vegan friendly spot, though the few that are on select days and times are pretty solid. If you're an IPA enthusiasts they have at least 6 on the rotation including the Nose Job (7% abv) and a personal fav. Their Hydration Break WC IPA, is a little more of India Pale Ale punch (7.4%), but you can't go wrong with any. Flights are still a recommend if you want to feel out the variety. For Hard Seltzer lovers, you've got the Frosty Fresco or Al Fresco. Fruit Snacks Lager is surprisingly epic as is the Brett Michael's Blonde Sour. I do miss some of their more seasonals such as the red lager aka Part-Time Lover but do enjoy all that's on the rotation. You can pop in for events like Friday Karaoke, Tuesday Taproom Trivia or Open Mic Mondays. Book a private event for all style of events. Family and pet friendly until 7pm. Beer and wine packages available with up to 300 person capacity. No matter the day... Still come for the beer, stay for the cheer. Take in the rustic decor, artsy vibes outdoors. Planty vines and nothing but things that make you thrive. Boomtown Brewery always gets me feeling the good vibes.

We ended up getting some cookies from an indoor stand a vendor had set up inside. They were good af. Overall it's a laid back cool spot to down a few rounds with friends, and we did end up singing along a lot of times... so we kinda got a performance in lol. Some performers clearly outshined others but was a good time! I also liked that it's a dog friendly establishment so best believe I got some good pets in with the furry friends. Definitely would come back to try making the list earlier another time. Cool find!

Naturally, we followed the music... and wow, what a vibe! This place is such a vibe-y outdoor hangout spot. Super cute, super chill. The first thing you see? A full bar built into a refurbished 1954 Spartan Trailercoach and yes, it's as cool as it sounds, serving beer and craft cocktails. The music was bumpin', the energy was up, but it still had this cozy, intimate feel. Perfect combo. My boyfriend and I both got the Paloma and we snagged a spot in the back to catch the DJ doing his thing. Our table was a little wobbly and my cocktail tipped! Such a bummer but the bartender didn't miss a beat. She sent someone to clean it up immediately and replaced my drink with a fresh one. Didn't catch her name but shoutout to her for the amazing service! There was a big group nearby just vibing, laughing, and living their best life.
