Can't go wrong with the stromboli, I get it without bacon. That's what I usually get because it's the best thing there.

Food was excellent. We had a couple of calzones. The crust was perfect and the toppings fresh. Nicely done at a good price.

My wife had grilled chicken sandwich & enjoyed. Fries were fluffy inside and yummy (though I stole half from my her since they were so good ) Don't miss the dessert (cannoli & gelato, tiramisu, cakes). Service was quick & bathrooms clean to make a quick pit stop off of 64/13. Was told they've been here since 2002 - so don't let the small number of reviews or MIA website link worry you . They are here and terrific!

We ordered the cheesy breadsticks. It was fried dough that must have been fried sometime in the past and then microwaved so it caused the outside to be really tough but not at all crispy. My entree was chicken Marsala. It didn't come with any pasta or mash potatoes and the sauce was very thin and didn't stick to the chicken at all while also being flavorless. Basically boiled chicken. I usually like to get desert when out at dinner, however the deserts in their case looked so unappealing, we decided to drive 15 mins away to get cake from the Sea Horse cafe. The two servers were okay, generally polite but didn't look at you when passing the table so it was hard to let her know when you needed something.

This year, there were 13 of us, sharing multiple meals together. We've ordered lunch for our smaller staff on multiple occasions, always for take-out. Organizing the buffet-style dinner for the team was a wonderful experience. I went into the restaurant to meet with Francesco to go over the menu. He made recommendations on what would work best with the buffet style, and we came up with a wonderful selection. The entire process was well organized and simple. The staff on the night of our event was fabulous. We sat in the semi-private space. Our server and the bar staff were all on top of their game. As always, the food was phenomenal! Our food allergies were accommodated well (Tree Nuts and Strawberries). The staff even provided some takeout containers for some of our staff to take home leftovers to family. Soup-to-nuts, this was a fantastic experience and we will definitely consider La Casetta for our events in the future.

We were promptly seated after ogling the dessert case (next time I'm taking something sweet to go) and our server brought out 2 slices of bread. No silverware or napkins. Just bread. I mean I could've easily licked my fingers clean after tasting that pillowy soft bread but still. The bread had was warm and flavored with a little olive oil and Italian seasonings, and was phenomenal. I mean I honestly don't know how they got a crispy yet soft crust, along with a soft pillowy inside. I probably could've wolfed down at least 4 slices had I not ordered pasta. Bestie and I both ordered what she had had previously, the three four cheese tortellini add meatballs. The tortellini and the white sauce were so delicious that I couldn't wait to cut into the meatballs! Unfortunately the meatballs were cold in the middle so I had to cut them up into small pieces in order to let the hot pasta and Alfredo sauce warm them up. Hey we all make mistakes right? The flavor and texture of the meatballs were pretty good tho once they were heated through. As I finished up my meal I bit into something hard and when I took it out of my mouth it looked like a small piece of wood. I wasn't going to complain but my bestie called the server over to alert her, who said it was a pine nut. I'm not sure why there was one random supposed pine nut in my dish but whatever. Maybe they were just having an off day. I'll give them another try next time we are back in New Bern.

Craving Pizza on the Island? Sorella's is a Must-Try!…read more While visiting the island, I found myself in the mood for some good pizza, so I decided to check out Sorella's for dinner--and I'm so glad I did! With its reputation for hearty, flavor-packed dishes, it was the perfect spot to satisfy my cravings. What We Ordered: * BBQ Pizza * Big Daddy Pizza * Stromboli BBQ PIZZA This pizza was a savory-sweet masterpiece! The olive oil base paired beautifully with the barbecue chicken, caramelized onions, and smoky bacon. The addition of jalapeños brought the perfect kick, while the cheddar and mozzarella created a rich, melty layer of cheesy goodness. Topped with a barbecue swirl, every bite was packed with bold flavors that balanced sweetness and spice perfectly. It was a creative twist on classic pizza flavors, and it didn't disappoint. BIG DADDY PIZZA If you're a fan of the classics, this one's for you. The Big Daddy Pizza was piled high with red sauce, beef, sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, red onions, mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese. Each ingredient brought something special to the table: the meats were perfectly seasoned, the vegetables added a satisfying crunch, and the mozzarella held it all together with a gooey, cheesy blanket. This pizza is a hearty, crowd-pleasing option for anyone who loves a fully loaded slice. STROMBOLI This was the showstopper for me! Stuffed with red sauce, pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, red onions, mushrooms, and mozzarella, the Stromboli was simply heavenly. The crust was golden and perfectly baked, with just the right balance of crispness and chewiness. The filling was indulgent, packed with meat and cheese, making it a dream for any meat lover. Every bite felt comforting and decadent--a must-try if you visit Sorella's. We opted for takeout and enjoyed our meal during a cozy movie night at our rental. The pizzas and Stromboli held up beautifully, still warm and fresh when we dug in. Sorella's proved to be the perfect blend of convenience and quality for a relaxed evening in. Sorella's nailed it on every level--flavor, portion sizes, and variety. Whether you're in the mood for a creative take on pizza like the BBQ Pizza, a classic loaded option like the Big Daddy, or the indulgent Stromboli, you're bound to find something to love here. If you're ever on the island and craving pizza, Sorella's is the place to go. I'll definitely be back for more!

It's a normal wait for the meals. As I mentioned in a previous review, the decor doesn't give the customer an "nice Italian dining" vibe. The pasta dishes are a good portion and has the flavor of standard Americanized Italian fare. That's not a negative opinion of the food, just a little info for the potential customer anticipating a gourmet Italian meal. My only serious ding would be the decor, tables, and seating are in dire need of replacement or renovation.

My sub was definitely on the sparse side. The 6ish inch sandwich arrived at the table warm on a small metal tray. The serving of salami was skimpy; I seriously doubt that it had much more than an ounce of salami and about the same size serving of mozzarella. Despite the modest amount of protein, it really was OK. I've had better versions of this sandwich, but I've had worse too. The baked ziti showed up piping hot in an enormous baking dish that dwarfed the metal tray of my sandwich. It was easily a large enough serving for two or possibly even three. I got to try a bite and it was also OK. There was a lot of pasta with a barely adequate serving of meat sauce and there was a lot more tomato sauce than meat in the sauce. The sauce was definitely on the sweet side; I've had baked ziti many times and do not recall ever eating sauce this sweet before. Our server was not overly attentive but did eventually refill our drinks. The restaurant is clean and had a bit of a 1990s feel. We both noticed that there was pay telephone in the lobby that appeared to work. It definitely reinforced the 1990s vibe. The restaurant charges a 4% fee to use a credit card. There really aren't too many dining options easily accessible off of highway 64 east of Rocky Mount until you reach the OBX. Momma's Pizza is a reasonable choice as long you have modest expectations.

I discovered Nino's when looking for places to dine over my stay in Greenville, NC. I read it was a…read morebusy place so I made sure to make a reservation. When I arrived, I thought I was going to a fine dining establishment with the decor outside and patio. Even the chandeliers and painted ceiling when entering set my expectations high. Then I was seated in the empty Rat Pack room. It was obvious that I was exiled to be hidden away from the other diners in the main dining area. A couple did join me over an hour later. I would have been fine dining in the room to myself if the staff standing around the hostess stand were not loudly complaining about their personal problems such as their high electric bills, rent payments or needing to complete homework. These conversations belong in the break room, and not for guests to need to listen to, so much for the fine dining atmosphere. My waitress was friendly but did not go over the specials, or seem that familiar with the menu. I started with the Sicily Sunset and some bread. Then I ordered the Pear and Cheese Sacchetti. The pasta pouches filled with cheese and pears in an Alfredo sauce. It was to come with the garnish of cracked pepper, Romano cheese and parsley but that was missing. Parmesan was added at the table. I was a little shocked when my dish arrived within minutes of ordering. It made me feel like I was being rushed as I was isolated and the food came out too quickly. I do wonder if it was freshly made. I could tell they were trying to turn the table quickly as then the dessert menu arrived while I was still eating my entree. The pasta dish was good with the textures and flavor. I would have had a better opinion of the food if I had just ordered that and skipped the dessert. The dessert menu wasn't very Italian so that was disappointing. I had to laugh that the assorted Italian cookies contained chocolate chip, sprinkles, and a chocolate dipped cookie. I did take a photo of the menu, so you can read it yourself. I went with the profiterole, not realizing their version was pre-made. So they took it out of the refrigerator and served it cold. The pasty's texture was changed by the temperature and was chewy. The chocolate ganache had hardened rather than flowing like lava. The dish was not good and I didn't finish. I did mention to the waitress that it was not good and she just said that they might make it different. They pre-prepare it so it isn't fresh. For the price, the service, atmosphere and pacing were below professional standards. I do not recommend Nino's if you are looking for an upscale environment. I would not return after my experience.
