Vinnie's is your typical neighborhood pizza spot. Every neighborhood has one and it won't wow you but it does the job. I wanted pizza in a bad way and since I was heading to visit Mini-Me, who lives for pizza I knew I couldn't show up at lunchtime, without her favorite food group. I ordered a large cheese pie and ( due to the coronahhh) it was a pick up order. Fast order, easy pick up ( I didn't forget to tip!) And off I went. Made it to Mini-Me's, and this cheese pie was delicious. Excellent amount of sauce to ratio of melt cheesy goodness, and THAT CRUSSSTTTT YUMMM excellent!!! It was sooogooood in fact that after a disaster shopping experience at the grocery spot next door... you know I had to order another pie to go!!! This time pepperoni, extra sauce and well done crust. Vinnie's has some really good thin crust but a star is deducted for the overall "feel" of the place. When the front of the restaurant where people order/ eat is dirty, it raises (my) concern about what's going on in the back of the kitchen. Worn, beaten, and dirty are what immediately came to mind when I entered. The area bu the front door and only garbage can is gross, the tables were all covered with food from previous guests, and the place just needs an overhaul. Catering! I grew up with Vinnies down the street. It was always my families go- to! And now that I have my own family I recently moved back and I was so excited to order from them again! They still have the best pizza and my favorite - chicken parmesan. I just hosted my first party at my home and catered from them. The food is "okay". Nothing to go crazy about but it's close to home so it's convenient. They almost ALWAYS screw up my delivery order. It's happened more than once. Delivery times exceed an hour+. The staff also isn't the friendliest. so after long days of work and hungry kids you're kinda stuck settling for the wrong items because who has another hour+ to wait and argue with rude staff. each time I order I have hopes they've gotten better. Asked for Facebook recommendations for a whole wheat or alternative crust pizza, and came by Vinnie's. Called to order, and was informed that the cauliflower and gluten free pies are personal pies. I ordered a cauliflower margarita, and a large plain pie, for a very reasonable $26. Not sure if the place is family owned, but it has the vibe of being family owned. The pizza was good, the establishment clean, and I would strongly recommend this place for small groups and take out. Is this the best pizza I've ever had? No, but, the fact that they had alternative crusts is something I would like to see more of. I understand this isn't authentic pizza, but, it's an additional option. read more

We heard of Vinnie's from some of our new neighbors in Monmouth Woods Howell....we lived in Freehold since 1994 and had never heard of Vinnie's before so we did a plain and simple order of grandma pie and salad just to try and OMG seriously? Where have you guys been all of our lives??? the pizza was amazing and my husband who isn't even a pizza fan almost ate half the pie! I've been going to Vinnie's since I was a kid. We moved across town and I started going to Tony's (now closed), Romeos, and more recently Krispy. I always come back to Vinnie's, the pizza is consistent, I love their sauce, great Calzones...made to order unlike Krispy's dried out, pre-made ones. Been coming here for 15 years since we moved to the area. It's around the corner from us so the fact that they have delicious pizza helps! While the food is very good I went in to pick up an order recently and saw someone preparing food with no rubber gloves and no face mask:. So as much as I'd like to give them five stars, they lose 2 because of this. Also on another occasion picking up food one of their cooks was sitting right where customers walk to get to the counter texting and not wearing a mask. I Ordered some pizza & sandwiches. The pizza was great but the sandwiches Ohhh boy. They need a lot of work. Cheese steak was lacking everything but cheese. Almost tasted like a grilled cheese. LOL. Seriously!!!! I think they use that steakum crap. Or whatever it's called. Now Chicken parm was also not so good. Chicken cutlet was dry and obviously frozen. Sauce is good so why would the chicken parm not be good???? Well frozen packaged chicken will kill it. Terrible Pizza! It tastes kinda like the way a dirty sponge smells. I am pretty sure they use dirty rags to wipe down their prep areas. I mean, otherwise why else would the pizza taste like that? There have been a few times that the pizza was halfway decent and didn't taste like a dirty sponge but I'd say a good 75% of the time it's gross. The only reason we keep coming back is because it's so close to my husband's parents house that we can walk there. We generally regret it every time but apparently we are slow learners lol read more

Food is good but cleanliness is a zero. A month a ago the short girl came out from the back chewing and then licked her fingers. Wiped on her pants as customer came in. He asked for a slice and she used the same hand to grab the slice. Last week the guy was making a pizza. A customer came in, walked over, reached over the counter and shook hands, went back to spinning the dough without washing hands. Same day, a customer was paying for a pizza and the tall guy dropped a dollar on a pizza on display. He wiped the dollar off, put it in the register but didnt do anything with the pizza. Honestly some of the best pizza I've ever had. Definitely the best in the area at least and they have a lot to offer. My personal favorite is the penne alla vodka with chicken. If you can find a better vodka sauce I'll give you $100 (just kidding I won't). My family orders from here weekly. The employees are always kind and courteous and they have some of the best pizza, salad, and subs that I have tried in comparison to other local pizzerias. The eggplant special pizza is also just such a treat! They make phenomenal Sicilian pizza and the bread they use for subs is just delicious. If you're interested in a really good salad, try their shrimp caesar salad and ask for it with cooked mushrooms. Everything about that salad is just amazing! If you're looking for some good pizza and Italian food in Monmouth county this is your pizzeria! I've tried them all in the area and Vinnies is the best by far. Not only consistently delicious food, but friendly staff and fast service as well. My kids refuse to eat any other pizza and I don't blame them! They also cater, which is always fantastic. They are taking way too long for a pizza to go. I was told 20 minutes on phone now waiting another 30 minutes in restaurant. Decent slice but definitely not the best around. Subs are ok as well. Pasta and hot dishes are meh.

Love their pizza and garlic knots. Haven't had anything else on their menus so I can't comment on that but their pizza is delicious.
