We fell in love with the natural outdoors. The oak trees and blue bonnets. Privacy of the venue. Truly don't need alot of decor the venue speaks for itself!! A lot of venues we looked at primarily catered to the bride and had no groom suites but the Vineyards had a grooms suite! We were happy about that! Because this day was for the both of us. Wanted my now husband to have a special / thinking / man space lol We had a coordinator Catherine that works directly with the venue and she was amazing from booking to after wedding! As soon as we drove up to The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge through a field of wildflowers, we knew it was where we had to get married. My dream had always been to have a ceremony under large, old trees, and the oaks on this property are beyond stunning. Everything you could want in a venue is here--suites for getting ready, lodging options, outdoor ceremony space, a climate-controlled tent, a vineyard, a meadow...it really is perfect. The staff here was great, and we always felt we were in expert hands. They can accommodate pretty much anything you envision--the wedding the night before us had a guest count of 250; our guest count was 25. I am so glad we chose this venue! Truly the best day of my life. We haven't gotten many pictures back, as we just got married, but I had to come on here and rave about how wonderful everything is at Chapel Lodge. I love that you have an option to rent out and stay at the venue, my dad and mom's family stayed at the lodge and cabin, it was so convenient and accommodating to all of their needs! Jaycie is a sales rep at the venue, we loved her from the very beginning, she's one of the reasons we chose this venue! We actually hired her as our planner too, again another wonderful decision! The whole day was seriously perfect! She went above and beyond and we cannot thank her enough for all she did for us! The venue is so beautiful it really doesn't need a whole lot of flowers etc in my opinion; we had about 400 candles and it was so romantic! There are so many different spaces to utilize, if you haven't been out here I highly recommend you get out there and check it out! As a wedding photographer,​ I have photographed numerous weddings here and it is always stunning, here is why: The large trees give perfect coverage for a romantic ceremony site during the day or at dusk. The lighting here is incredible and they have a small vineyard, perfect for the romantic capture. There are so many locations for beautiful portraits including the tall grass field, the entry doors or the vineyard. The venue is dog-friendly​y so man's best friend is welcome. The team that makes up this venue is professional and attentive to everyone's needs. The reception overlooks gorgeous greenery and the strands of light still allow you to see the stars above. I attended an outdoor wedding here, recently and was pleasantly surprised. It was hot, hot, hot! But the scenery was lovely and the amenities were plentiful. They do have a nice list of preferred vendors, so you can tell the venue has great taste. The only downside was that because the wedding ceremony and reception took place near a pond (with a brilliant fountain), mosquitoes were plentiful. All in all, the management team was very accommodating and professional to such a large attendance. Was it stressful to have a wedding in 2021? You betcha. Was attending the party itself stressful? I just had my wedding at the Vineyards at Chappel Lodge and it was beautiful! Catherine was my wedding coordinator and she made sure everything ran smoothly. I didn't have to stress or worry about anything. The vendors all arrived on time and knew exactly where they were supposed to be and what they were doing. I was very impressed. A storm blew through in the early afternoon and Catherine made sure that the storm barriers were closed so that none of the decorations got ruined. The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge is an absolutely beautiful venue! I got married there last weekend (10/18) and my guests continue to rave about how beautiful the space was. I fell in love with the venue immediately the first time I saw it and knew I had to get married there. What also sold me was the beautiful lodging that is available! My bridesmaids and I stayed there on Friday and Saturday night, and the groomsmen rented the cabin! It was so nice to have all of our wedding party so close and not have to worry about traveling before or after the wedding. And that bridal suite is amazing! I booked the venue almost a year before the wedding and spoke with Kristy numerous times throughout the year, always with a prompt response. But what really stood out to me was the help Chappel Lodge gave me in the last days before the wedding : I rented a tent from WHIM that was installed the Thursday before my Saturday wedding, however Kristy from the venue knew it would not meet my expectations - the barrels holding the tent were awful, the lighting was poor, and it overall looked cheap. Kristy stepped up and called my day of coordinator to make her aware, but more importantly she called WHIM and said they needed to come out and fix it. She had the highest expectations and even called other rental companies to come out to beautiful the space! I felt so grateful for her and knew that was truly above and beyond her duties! So thank you, Kristy! Finally, Catherine was the person on duty the night of my wedding and she was so helpful! I saw her running around making sure everything was perfect and even checking on me to ask if I needed anything. She even helped serve the cake! I did not have a single worry the night of my wedding and I have the Chappel Lodge staff to thank for that. (I should also note the cleaning and set up crew were so sweet to me and even congratulated me throughout the day while getting ready!) Wow, I am not even sure where to start with our review of The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge! Absolutely everything was incredible! Firstly we had the awful task of locating a venue for the month December. After looking at dozens of venues online we came across this beautiful venue. We called first to make sure they had availability with our December 7th wedding date. The pictures looked incredible, and it looked like such a beautiful location. We both fell in love with the look and the feel of the venue driving up for our onsite meeting. It was so surreal. The beautiful oak trees, pond, deer and facilities were absolutely beautiful. When we called to make a onsite interview Jaycee and Catherine were so lovely. They made arrangements for us to view the venue and explained the different areas. Jaycee took us through a general run through of what most couples do on their day but let us know they were very open to any creative ideas we had to make things a little different for our day. She really put our minds at rest and we knew that this was the venue for us. Catherine was our wedding coordinator and helped us finalize all the details for the day of. She made the wedding day run so smooth. Just a quick note to say thank you so much for all your hard work in making our wedding the best day of our lives. I would like to extend my warmest thank you to Jaycie and Catherine for being so present, caring, absolutely 100% accommodating to our timelines, schedules and our questions. Catherine was our coordinator - an absolute delight in handling vendors, being there for you on the day of and the evening of the wedding. We will recommend her, vouch for her, and sing praises to her to anyone who would listen. These two ladies made sure our weekend went as smooth as possible, and without their positivity and "can do" attitude we wouldn't have made it. Now onto the venue itself. We got married at the end of Sept. The weather did end up cooperating with us, but even if it didn't, there was a super plan B that we worked on with Catherine. The sprawling grounds of Vineyards at Chappell Lodge are stunning. Most of the guests who flew in from NY and SF were smitten with the lavish trees, the pond, and nature all around. It's quite an oasis in the city (and surrounding neighborhood), and driving up to it, you'd never fathom just how beautiful (and large) the space is. We ended up renting the cabin and the venue rooms for our family and long distance vendors. They loved the proximity to us, and the care we took, to make them feel comfortable. The venue also allows you to extend the wedding until midnight (when most of the inside Austin venues cap you at 10 PM). This was cherry on top of the cake. I held a Celebration of Life event for my husband at this incredibly beautiful venue. Jaycie, the Event Coordinator for the venue showed me all of my options for locations and working with her was very easy. She gave me a choice of just using the venue and handling the vendors myself or she could coordinate the vendors for me, which is what I did. I had everything outside under those big, beautiful trees; the bar, the food table, the memory table, and the services. They opened up the vineyard so that people could explore it and chat. We had our wedding at VCL on June 15th this year (2019). We absolutely loved it! We stayed there the night before & after (definitely a good way to go). We had the ceremony outdoors in the morning & then our reception inside & on the covered patio during the day. Jaycie was so helpful getting our first visit and my bridal portrait session scheduled, and Catherine absolutely made the day happen as our coordinator! The venue was beautiful and everything ran smoothly on our wedding day thanks to Catherine & the staff with the exception of the outdoor A/C! I would definitely recommend VCL if you are looking for an event or wedding venue, and you 100% want Catherine as your coordinator. I can't say enough about this venue. We had a beautiful but eventful wedding for my oldest daughter in May. The weather was absolutely unpredictable that day and the forecast was changing hourly. Catherine was able to move the ceremony site twice before a record rain opened up right before time to start. She was able to move us back inside and adjust the timeline so that the guests had happy hour while they waited. From the first time we drove into the property, we were absolutely amazed at the beauty of the venue. The staff and our day of coordinator, Catherine, were always so helpful and quick to reply. We got married on Friday April 6th, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue or the people that work there. It really is a secret gem in south Austin, every single one of our guests was floored by how beautiful it was. From the roses and blue bonnets, to the wonderfully landscaped grounds, and the beautiful architecture. From the moment we selected them as our wedding venue they did everything to try and help make our day as special as possible. They held open houses throughout the year to showcase different vendors, which was extremely helpful especially in selecting a cake baker and florist. But let me get to the major part. Catherine. Our day of coordinator, she was so very crucial to making everything work, she was wonderful, especially with making sure I (the bride) was the happy one! The small gift we were able to give her was definitely not enough considering her services! She answered my emails, calls and texts promptly, and was there when I thought things were gonna fall through the week of the wedding, And made sure that everything went according to plan the day of. She is AMAZING! I highly recommend her in case you are needing planning services. I don't think my review even touched on how wonderful the people and the venue of the vineyards of Chappell lane really are. And I'm actually quite sad that it is all over and I'm not sure most people can say that about their wedding venue! read more

If the front office could get some affairs in order, the Vineyards could easily be a 5-star venue. The grounds, as stated in other reviews, are absolutely gorgeous. Well manicured, beautiful trees and wildflowers, a stonewalled pond with fountain, gravel roads, and not another building in sight! The venue itself is just gorgeous and a great stay as well. However, when dealing with the front office, expect some serious problems right off the bat. If you want to get a hold of the manager, Kristy, don't expect to do it via phone. In fact, after the entire experience, I'm not sure why they even have a phone. The best, maybe only, way of getting a hold of her is via email. Another problem we encountered was coordinating an appointment to view the venue. This seemed to be an issue with our vendors as well. My fiancé, one year out from our actual wedding date, traveled to the venue on three occasions. The first, while she was on her way to the venue, Kristy canceled on her--via email. You would think on such short notice the courtesy of a phone call would be in order, but this place does not care much for phones. The second time, Kristy had left early, feeling ill, and my fiance waited in the pouring rain outside of the locked gate for an hour trying to get a hold of Kristy or anyone inside the venue. When Kristy finally responded to her emails, hours later, she apologized saying she left because she thought we had not "confirmed" the appointment for that day. The emails sent back and forth the day before seemed awfully like a confirmed appointment to us, but oh well. One should keep in mind that there does seem to be an issue of accountability with Kristy. It seems after every apology from her, there was a snide remark explaining how it was really more our fault than hers. But also keep in mind that, in person, Kristy is very kind, very helpful, and very knowledgable about the venue. Also keep in mind, that it's clear that the owner of this venue--a former real estate developer I'm told--gives her zero help. He also writes up the contract for this place like he's still in the boardroom. Be prepared and bring a lawyer! It's 42 (most places no more than 5) pages long and basically states that if someone is hurt on the property and IT'S CLEARLY THE VENUE'S FAULT, they are still not liable. In fact, even on the contracts the vendors are required to sign, it states in no uncertain terms that they are not liable for anything even it it's their fault. We actually referred two people to this venue in the past year, both said no simply because of the contract. One of our vendors almost backed out two weeks before our wedding because of the contract, thank god they decided not to. Despite everything, we couldn't say no. The venue was just too beautiful. The wedding itself went off without a hitch, all thanks to my bride, her parents, and a few others who set everything up, as well as our excellent vendors. Also, remember the while the venue is happy to setup the tables and chairs prior to the wedding, your family and friends are required to take everything down at the end of the night. If you want help from the staff during this, it costs extra. Be advised, as she will tell you from day one, Kristy is not a wedding coordinator. Brides with their own wedding coordinators are the best candidates for this venue in my opinion. Dealing with all the normal stress of a wedding already, a bride needs someone to handle the extra stress of dealing with this venue. To be honest, the day of the wedding it felt to many of our guests that we were "squatters" who had outstayed their welcome in someone's home, rather than full-paying customers who had legally licensed the property for the entire day. The venue is beautiful, the grounds are amazing, the atmosphere romantic. Just be warned, on the day of the wedding you and your vendors are on their own. Lastly, I want to stress one thing. Kristy is a kind person, I truly believe she is greatly overworked and understaffed at the Vineyards. Keep in mind, as far as we could tell, there is no one else there helping her. Maybe if there were at least one other person there to field customer requests/ questions and perform day-to-day operations, the venue could be run far more effectively. read more

The grounds are gorgeous... And who best to give you a tour of the grounds than the grounds keeper? Well, that's what happened when the coordinator, Kristy, didn't show up for our scheduled appointment to view the Vineyards for my upcoming wedding. The appointment was set after having called her one day - didn't hear back - called her again the next day - and on the third day she returned my call. She was short with me, but we still managed to make an appointment for two days later in the morning, with me altering my schedule to work with hers. That morning I toured the facility and grounds, but left without any pricing information or details of what is/is not included in the venue. I called her a few hours later because I was very interested in what I saw and wanted more info... When she called back she left a voice mail & was very apologetic, so I was willing to giver her the benefit of the doubt. Yet when I called her back and gave days and times to return with my fiance, she never called me back. If you're interested in this place, again, it's gorgeous. Just be careful as communication is clearly an issue here... And perhaps Kristy has too much on her plate. read more

Our daughter's wedding was held at the Vineyards at Chappel Lodge April, 2016. This is not a well known wedding venue, but it should be. It has beautiful sweeping grounds, huge oak trees, fields of wild flowers, a picturesque vineyard, and a romantic pond and water feature. There is also a nice indoor space with a big great room, a huge kitchen, beautiful bride's room, and nice big stone patio ideal for dining and dancing under the stars. We were fortunate to have wonderful weather for the wedding, and Kristy helped everything run smoothly. Our daughter's dream was to be married outdoors, and the oak trees made an amazing backdrop for her ceremony. We had our wedding here in April and it was so great! The planning, with Kristy, started in December so a 4 month planning and corresponding via email/phone from Seattle to Austin, could've been tough but it was smooth and super easy! Kristy recommended great vendors (Pink Avocado for catering and Verbena for flowers) and I had a great photographer (SAVVY images) and hair dresser (Becky at Pink Slipper) that all helped the day be extra special. My parents, mother in law and husband all wanted to check out the venue the week of and it was very easy to coordinate and Kristy was super helpful showing us around and let us practice the music set up too. Everyone was so impressed with the how beautiful the venue was and how great everything turned out for our surprise wedding (yes, we pulled off a surprise wedding at our engagement party) with the planning done with no stress on our end. Where to even begin... I absolutely fell in love with The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge as soon as I arrived. After touring multiple venues, this one was the only one that I knew right away it was exactly what I was looking for. Jaycie the event coordinator, was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She and I hit it off immediately, which I know usually happens with brides as Jaycie has such an inviting and warm personality. Jaycie was available and happy to answer any questions I had throughout my planning process, which was quite often. As my wedding approached on March 3rd, Jaycie worked even harder to get a beautiful tent ordered to cover the stone patio, as that would have been our only bad weather backup. I had planned for our entire wedding to be outside as the venue is absolutely breathtaking and we love nautre. I grew up in the hill country, and wanted something that represented that special place in my heart. Who would've known that if you were to drive a mile or so south down manchaca past slaughter, and find this incredibly beautiful piece of land! A true hidden gem. Jaycie came through with this beautiful tent as well as many other details, and I am so incredibly grateful that she did as it was raining during our wedding day. My mom and a few of our closest friends stayed at the venue the night before our wedding, and my husband and I stayed in the bridal suite the night of our wedding. These also wouldn't have been possible without Jaycie. The stay at the venue truly added to our incredible weekend, and you would truly miss out on your magical experience if you didn't do the same. Thank you so much Jaycie for everything that you did! I hired Catherine, the venue's coordinator, as my day of coordinator. She took over everything a month out from my wedding, and was available for any questions that I had prior. I can't even put into words how incredible Catherine was. She was so thorough with every small detail of the wedding day and rehearsal. We met a few weeks prior to wedding and worked out every minute and minor detail of the day. She made me feel so confident that our wedding day was going to be executed exactly the way the we had dreamed it would be, and also addressed details that we hadn't quite thought about. During our rehearsal, she was on top of every single detail. The day of the wedding, I don't even know where to begin. She handled all of our vendors, the setup, and everything that I had dreamed would happened, happened. I was able to relax that day, and not worry about anything outside of getting myself ready, and enjoying my friends and family. It rained and I had a moment of sadness as I had always imagined a beautiful wedding outside. Catherine flipped the covered patio that had already been set up for dinner, and made it into a beautiful ceremony site. It had every small detail like rose pedals down the isle, to additions, such as beautiful candles at the bottle of the arch that she had moved under the tent because she knew it would add warmth to the ceremony site. She knew the floral wedding arch would be the finishing touch and was very important to me, and made moving it happen. The wedding night was amazing, and any minor hiccup that occurred, I was not aware of as she handled it beautifully. As I said before, I cannot thank Catherine enough for making our dream wedding come true, even with circumstances that were not ideal. She made a rainy wedding day into one that was intimate and beautiful. Thank you to this venue, and everyone that was apart of our planning and wedding day! We have already planned to come back to celebrate our anniversaries or special occasions because it truly will hold a special place in our hearts for forever! read more

Both the Venue and Catherine Haffner were delightful to work with, incredibly knowledgeable, and full of good advice (without being pushy). Our wedding was absolutely perfect-- it felt like the middle of the countryside while really easily in the middle of South Austin. Cannot recommend both VCL and Catherine enough. read more

The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge played host to our dream wedding - the scenery and venue are beautiful and the outdoor, open vibe made our cocktail hour and reception a blast.. The location is perfect; only about 15mins from downtown yet it feels like you are on a ranch in the hill country. I've noticed some negative comments regarding Kristy, but our experience with Kristy was great. She went above and beyond to accommodate our load-in times and make sure we had all of the information that we needed. We had multiple site visits as we ended up hiring a planner and she was happy to accommodate and schedule as much time as we needed. I do agree that the contract is lengthy and a bit over the top; but to each his own. It didn't affect our experience or the wedding in any way. My husband and I got married here and it was FABULOUS!! The plea is absolutely gorgeous and was such a unique venue close to downtown Austin (where I wanted my guests to stay to enjoy the city). The ladies in charge of the house are wonderful. They were so easy to work with and were able to get a hold of easily. They worked with my planner, caterer and all others fluidly (as they are not coordinators). They spent time with us to show us around and suggest different options of locations and ideas! Kristy was the sweetest and genuinely cares. She answered my 1000 questions and let us come back multiple times without question during the planning process to look at certain things. They let me create the perfect wedding venue with their gorgeous surroundings and land. I loved this place because I could make it what I wanted. We used the entire property for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. I was able to bring in my on vendors without have limitations or being forced to use their food/drink menus. It had a wonderful flow and made things easy. All the workers helped to get things set up and taken down. The bridal suite is one of the most gorgeous I have seen. I knew a lot of picture would be taken in there of us getting ready, etc, so having a beautiful backdrop was important to me. The whole land as a private remote feel without having to have the 45 min drive out to the hill country. I am so lucky I found this place and just love looking back at pictures. We recently had our granddaughter's wedding at this beautiful venue. The grounds are spectacular and the bluebonnets were in full view. The staff was very friendly and supportive. Kudos to the wedding organizer Catherine Haffner for doing a truly superlative job. The venue was beautiful but the management is not great. I recently attended a wedding there that had unseasonably cold temperatures and we were assured there would be accommodations made for the 38-degree weather. They had ONE heater and it was broken. They never even tried to fix it or replace it, so most people couldn't even stand to be outside for the dinner seating and band. Just disappointing. read more

We were married at the Vineyards at Chappel Lodge just a few weeks ago. About a year ago when we were looking for venues we toured this venue with Kristy and KNEW it was the one! She was so very nice and helpful and we went over all of the details about the rental process. From that day, I met with my various vendors and our coordinator out there multiple times. Kristy was always so nice and accommodating!! She made it so easy on us to be out there and make plans. Our wedding day was flawless. Between our vendors, our coordinator, Kristy and the VCL team, we had such an awesome group of people and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place and day for our day! The venue was STUNNING! The grounds were BEAUTIFUL! We still get calls and notes daily from our guests saying how perfect the wedding was. Everyone comments on Chappel Lodge and what a perfect and gorgeous location it is for a wedding. read more
