Everyone at Old Glory Ranch made our planning and day of event so easy. Our Site Manager was Kimberli and she was absolutely incredible to work with. She was proactive in reaching out to see if we needed anything during our planning process and was extremely fast in answering any questions we had, regardless of the time of day. Carey was our Day of Coordinator and equally as fabulous. She was one step ahead of everything and was always ready with a refill of our drinks. All the staff the day of were great as well. They even packed the leftover catering food and any decor/items in the getting ready room in our truck. I come from a background of event planning and Kimberli and Carey and the team at OGR checked all the boxes and make planning and executing your wedding day flawless. My husband and I felt so taken care of on the day of and all of our guests were texting us the days after saying how it was such a wonderful event - all thanks to the OGR team. Wow I highly recommended this venue!!! This place is gorgeous, they keep up with it and its very well maintained. The chapel has country vibes and is adorable!!! So much space to spread out and explore this amazing venue. The river is spectacular and couldn't have asked for a better day. Karen even offered me to change our shoot date b/c of possible rain but it all worked out without a change. This place started out as a very positive experience a year ago when we booked the venue. However due to COVID-19, the shelter in place order and curfew of Hays county and many others around the country our wedding had to be cancelled. Not to mention the moral responsibility to not put others in danger. Old Glory Ranch was quick to respond to all phone calls and email inquiries leading up to COVID. Basically when they were in the drivers seat of taking our money. However when the news started circulating about COVID we inquired on what their plans were for the event and then they suddenly stopped communicating. After multiple follow ups we were told they were looking into their options. Then after multiple follow ups to get a response to "Their Options" they decided that they were keeping $3,000 for services rendered. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND AGAINST LOOKING INTO THIS VENUE. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING MONEY AND DONT CARE WHATSOEVER ON DOING THE RIGHT THING DURING A NATIONAL CRISIS #COVIDHIJACKER *****Update on 7/7/2020 in response****** The only option was to reschedule the wedding and not lose any money. Or to have a small ceremony on the date for the amount of money that had been collected up until that point. Which would have been more than the $3,000 worth of deposits that you kept for "Services Rendered" Every other vendor that we had scheduled had no issues with canceling and refunding the money that had been paid up until that point. Because it was out of anyone's control. They had force du jour clauses in their contract and didn't try to take advantage of the situation and then scramble to try and justify their actions. We proactively reaches out to you guys on March 16th asking what you guys were doing given the direction of the CDC, WHO, social gatherings directive etc. You didn't respond to us until March 20th and said our option was to reschedule and Karen Wasn't given the authority to cancel. We responded on March 22 saying rescheduling was not an option due to the uncertainty of COVID and how long this was going to drag out and that we would like to cancel. We were told the Suzanne needed to talk to her accountant to see what her options were. Then we followed up a week later after hearing nothing to be told that you were keeping the deposits for services rendered and sending back the difference. There wasn't any sort of conversation to speak with us on other alternatives besides you were keeping the deposits and that if we wanted to reschedule we could apply that money towards it. Had you guys done the right thing and what every other vendor did this review would be significantly different. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO DECIDES TO USE OGR TO DEMAND A CHANGE TO THE CONTRACT WITH A "FORCE DU JOUR CLAUSE" their contract only states natural disasters. read more

A family member was due to have a wedding at this venue. Due to the corona virus, the wedding had to be cancelled. They refused to return all the money paid towards the wedding. I understand if it was because the couple fell apart but that is not the case. The cancellation was not something the couple did. This place is incredible. We had a Catholic ceremony at the church in town, so we just did our reception at the ranch, but the transition was seamless and I have no doubt that doing the ceremony there too would have been just as beautiful. Also, we had to do our wedding planning from California (though I'll admit we had PLENTY of help thanks to our mamas), but when Old Glory says they'll take care of the details, they mean it. We did not worry about a single thing for the entire weekend. Every staff member was kind, competent, and fun to be around; the music, flowers, and decor were perfect; the flow of the evening was flawless; and the tips, connections, and advice they gave in choosing vendors made sure that we had everything we wanted while still being conscious of our budget. Plus, our guests were still telling us all the different things they enjoyed about the ranch over a month later. We had a truly perfect wedding, and I can't recommend OGR highly enough. read more

Old Glory Ranch is the PERFECT setting for a beautiful, rustic, elegant, hill country wedding! All of the staff is very professional, accommodating, and helpful. They replied to every little question I had before the big day very promptly, and made me feel so at ease. Gina and Kellye were my wedding coordinaters, and its obvious that they really know their stuff! My Dad, along with multiple guests, complimented their work. I have heard from almost all of the guests that attended our wedding that it was at least in the top 3 weddings they've been to, if not THE BEST!! I am so happy with how everything went! We chose the wedding deck (on the Blanco river!) for our ceremony and the covered patio for our reception. Everything was absolutely beautiful! The setting is not only gorgeous, but has such a fun and easy going vibe. The flowers were gorgeous! I provided a few examples of what I liked and the florists at Old Glory Ranch exceeded expectations. All of the arrangements were unique, beautiful, and exactly what I pictured! We used the in-house DJ, Chris Heckendorn, for our reception, and he nailed it!! He made the party really fun and kept it going! Everyone has said that he was SUCH a good DJ! Our daughter's wedding was perfect! We are still on cloud nine as we think about the way the Old Glory Ranch team executed every detail (and there were many) so seamlessly. From the carriage ride with her dad before she walked down the aisle to the fireworks at the end, sitting on the back of a vintage convertible with her new husband, the smile never left our daughter's face. Our ceremony was lovely - the flowers were over the top - and the music filled the chapel in such a glorious manner! Their sound tech is amazing, and worked so well with all the musicians, vocalists and the band. Carey, the wedding coordinator, and Karen, the site manager, were present and visible throughout the night. From the first meeting to the last load placed in our car, Gina was there to give a warm hug! Suzanne, the owner, is very involved and is a pleasure to work with. My wedding at Old Glory was an absolute dream! Nothing was left out of the dream wedding that I imagined as a little girl. In fact, the wedding at Old Glory went above and beyond what I could imagine a wedding could even be! Old Glory is an absolute paradise! There is not an area that would not make the perfect picture with the trees, river, landscape, the chapel, and the wildflowers. The bluebonnets were in full bloom the weekend we were married and that was the best surprise I could ever have imagined. My precious grandmother had passed away unexpectedly a month prior to my wedding and one of her favorite flowers was the bluebonnet. I have never seen so many beautiful bluebonnets! The best part of my wedding aside from the natural beauty of Old Glory was the staff! I did not have to worry about a thing! The day went so smoothly and my only job was to show up and enjoy the day. That meant a lot to me especially when I have seen brides in the past as a bride maid stress out before, during, and after the wedding. The personal touches that the staff did that day was actually the best part of my day and was so unexpected. I felt like I could have easily been royalty or a Hollywood celebrity that day with the friendliness of the staff knowing all the little things to say or do to make my experience one of a kind. For example, Gina took the time to take a picture of the first time my dad was able to see me dressed as a bride. That was a moment that she went above and beyond to capture a magical moment that will only happen once. It was something that I did not even think about when I planned my wedding and I appreciate the fact that she stopped and took the time to do so. The staff easily could have been a part of my family the way they cared for each moment as if I was his or her daughter. I am very thankful and appreciative of each and every one at Old Glory for being a part of my wedding. Last I wanted to comment on the fact that I loved that we received a "goodie bag" at the end of the day. This included FOOD! When I say that Old Glory thought of everything, they did! Worst experience I've ever had dealing with someone in a service industry. If you are planning on having a wedding here, please be aware that you will be required to use their 'florist' - who is the owner. All of the items at the front of the chapel, which are there every time you will visit, will cost you extra to keep there on the day of your wedding. Every single item there will be an extra fee or an extra rental cost. The owner attempts to micromanage every aspect of the wedding - even telling me my colors were ugly and that if I wanted certain items on the table I should just have my wedding somewhere else. If you don't share their view of what the wedding should look like, they will let you know it. Yes the location is beautiful, but its really not worth the hassle. They tried to get me to sign 'reminder policies' a month before the wedding, which included numerous 'you will be charged for this or that' that I'd never heard before. And when I refused, as its my right to do, they tried to say I couldn't have my wedding at the venue. It was a horrible experience and I changed venues the week before my wedding b/c I didn't feel confident that they were going to make my day special and wonderful and relaxing. (And you will be charged a babysitting fee if you have more than a certain number of kids under a certain age - but you won't find that out until the 'reminder') read more

When my son called to say "she said yes" we were so excited we could hardly contain ourselves. Then when he said they wanted to be married in Texas, I held my breath! As the mother of two boys I didn't think I would be planning a wedding, but with the bride and groom and her parents living out of state I was asked to help! So, with a list of venues, a friend and I started the visits. It was an easy choice! Hands down, there was nothing that compared to Old Glory Ranch! EXCELLENCE...from the moment we drove through the gate to the night we drove away after the wedding. The venue is perfection. So many of the places we had visited throughout Austin and the Hill Country looked great online but when we would get there we would see how poorly maintained they were. Not so with Old Glory Ranch. The decor, the buildings, and the grounds are maintained with great perfection. Suzanne did an amazing job with the design package creating the country Christmas look the bride had dreamed of, complete with twinkling lights, candles, berries and greenery. The list of suggested vendors and their recommendations were superb. Carey helped us find an incredible band that people are still talking about, pointed me in the right direction for a vendor that helped us choose invitations with the OGR flavor and people raved about the food and the way it was displayed and served by a caterer they highly recommended. At the last minute we decided to use a videographer, and Gina made that happen! We were made to feel like royalty on the day of the wedding. Every detail was taken care! They use headsets to make sure everyone knows what is going on and it makes for a perfect wedding! On cue, the violinist stopped, the bells rang and the bride entered. I tear up thinking about it even now. When I say everything is taken care of for you, I mean EVERYTHING! Carey even made a plate of food for me when she noticed I had not had a chance to eat ( too busy visiting). When the evening was over we were handed the keys to our car and everything we had brought there, along with the left over cake, a plate of food for my husband and I, and the left over alcohol was packed in there for us. My son and his bride left in their limo; Carey had made sure their luggage had been placed in the trunk, and plates of food and a bottle of champagne were inside for them to enjoy when they got to the hotel. That's EXCELLENCE! I could say so much more but I think you would get tired of reading the word excellence! I am forever grateful to Carey, Gina, Karen, and Suzanne. They were always there for us; answering phone calls and numerous emails, giving great advice, suggestions and in general calming me down in moments of panic or confusion.
