    Blue Rock Estate

The ranch like feel, gorgeous trees, and rustic rock home were the perfect backdrop for our wedding. The venue was perfect but so was the venue coordinator: Collyn Cody. I cannot express our gratitude strongly enough. Collyn was amazing to work with. From the first moment that we met her, she felt like family and her calming spirit made planning a wedding feel easy, even if only while around her. She worked with us to design, plan, and coordinate our perfect day. The day of the wedding, Collyn provided an immeasurable amount of help to make our day perfect. From navigating the walk of two brides simultaneously walking down 2 different aisles on opposite sides of the venue, to flipping the venue from ceremony to reception flawlessly, to ensuring that our day of plan went off without a hitch, Collyn was simply amazing. Take a drive and head to Blue Rock Estate; I am so glad that we did. We will be forever grateful to this venue for making our day exactly what we envisioned.

Blue Rock Estate is BEAUTIFUL! We just had our wedding there, and it was absolutely gorgeous - the…read moreperfect mix of rustic and elegant in the heart of the Hill Country. Up until just before our wedding, we had actually booked a different venue. But 2 weeks before the big day, our initial venue made it impossible for us to host the wedding at their site. We desperately looked around for somewhere else, and we were coming to terms with the idea that we might have to hold the wedding in a public park when our amazing wedding coordinators, Yellow Umbrella Events, found Blue Rock Estate! We were lucky that and they were still available because they're brand new and hadn't sold out yet. We're SO THANKFUL that we found this venue! First, the owners and on-site coordinator as incredibly kind! From the moment we walked onto the property, they were completely accommodating and allowed us to transform their already beautiful property however we wished. They made us feel very welcome, and they were very friendly throughout the stress of the last minute venue change. On the wedding day, they let my bridesmaids and I arrive early so we could eat lunch and relax. The wedding went off without a hitch, and they were very friendly to us, our guests, and our vendors. As far as the property goes, it couldn't have been more gorgeous. The pathway from the parking lot to the main building winds through a beautiful butterfly garden full of aromatic sage plants and festoon lighting. The main building itself is similar to a Spanish-style villa, and it was once built as a artist's studio. It opens out to the lawn via several French doors, as well as a castle-like solid wood door at the back. The building's white stone exterior was a perfect backdrop for our lighting, and the grassy field was great for lawn games and photos. The stone pool even provided a nice water feature off of which our lighting was reflected. Our ceremony and dinner were held in the adjacent granite gravel space framed by a beautiful oak tree. The trees gave ample shade, and the air-conditioned interior was great for dancing and cooling off during our outdoor, June wedding. The bridal suite was bright and full of natural sunlight, and the groom's suite was classically decorated with a dark leather sofa and similar, masculine decor. Though our excellent caterer, Royal Fig, brought their own food trucks for cooking on-site, the fully-equipped kitchen was perfect for staging the appetizers and dinner. The property itself is very well marked and easy to get to. There was ample parking for our 90 guests and enough space for several mini-buses and rental trucks to drive through. Overall, I couldn't have pictured a more beautiful wedding. It was a blessing in disguise when we were forced to find a new venue, and I'm SO thankful that we found Blue Rock Estate. If you're looking for the perfect blend of "rustic chic," then Blue Rock Estate is for you!

My first stay at Camp Lucy One night to celebrate my niece's birthday with her children. I booked…read moretwo rooms that were very pricey more than charged for a suite at The Four Seasons and The Metropole Hotel. I thought wow this place must really be nice! At check-in I was told that our rooms were not together because I did not book directly with them. That attitude was the beginning. The rooms were nice, but not luxury..no bathtub, no amenities to speak of, no breakfast, my room was not private and not sound proof. The deck and living area look right into my unit a few yards away...when I peeked out...people waved back. That would have been fine if they were my family. I inquired at the desk and was told that the room was offered as semi-private...how is private semi?... But most disturbing was the noise! There is no sound barrier... I could hear every footstep, bump and voice. The hotel had texted me a welcome arrival text, so I responded that the noise level from the adjoining unit was very loud. They responded with apologies etc and said that they would alert the staff to help resolve the issue. After a while nothing happened no response. I could not rest as noise continued so I texted again same response ...much later I texted again ...similar response...I had a terrible sleepless night..Finally I realized that I had been texting with an automated BOT No hotel employee responded or contacted me during our unfortunate brief stay. They had at least two weddings going on, staff was limited and the wait for service showed. Unprofessional management and the so called "luxury" room that cost a fortune and was not sound proof was a regrettable experience. The management did nothing to help us have a nice stay.

Ma Maison - This is where they were secretly filming... completely unacceptable violation and invasion of privacy.

Connor answered all my emails within the hour, and she was always so sweet and polite even though I kept asking a million questions. They made me feel so special throughout the whole planning and wedding. The day of my wedding, Karen came to the Bridal Suit and asked me if someone was bringing us lunch, because if that was not the case, she could order or pick something up for us... I think that was beyond her "work description" and made me feel so special and comfortable. Now, Ma Maison: The place is a dream!! if you're looking for that vintage-European vibe with tons of green and a lake, THIS IS THE PLACE!! they have 4+ ceremony options and one is more beautiful than the other. The Grand Hall is so big and impressive, your dreams and ideas for your reception don't have a limit in this place. I felt like a real princess in my castle.

TW: HIDDEN CAMERA!…read more My sister was married here a few years back. The wedding was beautiful and reception space lovely.... So why the low rating? THEY HAD A HIDDEN CAMERA IN THE BRIDAL SUITE! We found the small, cube-shaped camera after the wedding had started... so after we had been using the space for the entire day to dress. The camera's light was on, which indicated it was live recording. When confronted, the staff member on site (possibly the owner?) stated that the area in question was "not expected to be used for changing", and therefore they were "allowed" to have a camera. Imagine that... a bridal suite, (behind locked doors no less), that is not for changing?? Complete & utter BS. And what's worse is that the woman (I think her name was Karen?) was completely dismissive of our concerns, & didn't even BLINK when we asked her about it! Like it was common practice that she and the staff spied on every female wedding party! Meanwhile, there was ZERO signage to indicate there was a camera in that room or that we were being recorded. Plus, the camera was not in plain view... it was discretely placed under a table close to the floor, quite obviously an attempt to conceal its presence. We were all furious considering the violation, as we had OF COURSE been using that space to get dressed! "But don't worry", she said, "I'm the only one who sees it." Literally the opposite of reassuring. I suspect the owner may have placed the camera there to make sure unruly bridesmaids did not cause any property damage, but I strongly believe her actions were highly unethical if not 100% illegal. The only reason we didn't call the police or attempt to press charges was because we didn't want to ruin my sister's day or cause a scene that would overshadow her good memories. So if you choose this venue, I highly recommend you take a hidden camera detector with you and sweep the bridal suite before removing your clothing. (Photo included for proof we used this venue & to show the area of the bridal suite that they said was "not for changing"....)
