The venue was lovely aesthetically, however, left a lot to be desired, mostly for those with any mobility issues. The river stones in the reception area made every step difficult, and I didn't' wear heals. The stone dance floor was a bit treacherous also. The chairs were either to low, or sank into the river stone, making it difficult to get out of the chairs. Many steps in and out of the house where the restroom was located, also not ADA friendly. Not sure if there was a place for the bride and groom to dress, but the house was so small I can't imagine there was a room for that.Other wise, the grounds were beautiful.

They showed us the inside and the owner mentioned we could use the tables inside for our cakes, gifts, etc but we weren't allowed to move any of her decor. It's because it is their home that they are living in! The groom quarters is there sons old room full of junk. And in the kitchen area there was a large bowl filled with old mail and moldy bread! That is the last thing I was my guests seeing at a wedding. The Vermont chairs were also very low and narrow so it would be difficult for any tall or wider guests. Wish we could have used this venue

My husband's cousin got married at the Thistlewood Manor & Gardens at the end of January. We were…read moreinvited guests so we got to spend a few hours here with the other guests. The manor is about 30 minutes outside of Austin in Kyle, Texas. It's a sprawling property with outdoor gardens and small chapel and a big manor house. The wedding was held inside the manor. The wedding party came around the corner down the aisle to the arch. The bride came down the spiral staircase. We were escorted outside while pictures were taken and enjoyed some light bites along with a hot cocoa bar. They rearranged the main room by removing the seats and setting up the tables for the reception. We were treated to non-alcoholic beverages while we waited for dinner to be served. It took a while for them to turn the main space around. What was supposed to be an hour ended up being two. The facilities were clean and well stocked. Once the dining room was ready for the reception, we found our seats. They brought out cold dinner rolls with butter and salad to the tables. We had to ask for additional butter as it was a skimpy amount for our table. However, for the main courses, we had to line up table-by-table to be served. They had chicken Florentine, roast beef, mashed potatoes, and roasted broccoli. They also had vegan options for those who did not eat meat. Once served, we then sat to eat our dinner. In between, there were speeches, some dancing, and merriment. They also served cake before the couple cut their own wedding cake which we thought was weird. For the most part, everyone enjoyed the wedding. We left shortly after the cake was cut as we had to get back to Austin. We thought we would have a problem finding a Lyft but one was readily available to us.

We fell in love with the natural outdoors. The oak trees and blue bonnets. Privacy of the venue. Truly don't need alot of decor the venue speaks for itself!! A lot of venues we looked at primarily catered to the bride and had no groom suites but the Vineyards had a grooms suite! We were happy about that! Because this day was for the both of us. Wanted my now husband to have a special / thinking / man space lol We had a coordinator Catherine that works directly with the venue and she was amazing from booking to after wedding! Gave us all answers we asked and help navigate everything clearly ! So pleased! It's a beautiful area and spring time is breath taking here! Everything was amazing !

My dream had always been to have a ceremony under large, old trees, and the oaks on this property are beyond stunning. Everything you could want in a venue is here--suites for getting ready, lodging options, outdoor ceremony space, a climate-controlled tent, a vineyard, a meadow...it really is perfect. The staff here was great, and we always felt we were in expert hands. They can accommodate pretty much anything you envision--the wedding the night before us had a guest count of 250; our guest count was 25. We could not have been happier with our venue choice, and our wedding photos are a forever testament to the beauty of this spectacular location.

I got married at Cricket Hill Ranch in May, and it was everything I ever dreamed of for my wedding…read morevenue and more! I had a lot of guests from outside of Texas, so I wanted to give them an authentic Texas Hill Country experience while still reflecting my modern tastes. I chose to have both my ceremony and dinner in the beautiful Great Room to avoid the Texas heat, which was a decision both my guests and I appreciated! Dancing was in the barn, and there was a nice breeze flowing through the doors that kept the space cool. The reason I first fell in love with this venue is that it feels like a home rather than an "event space." The on-site bride and groom's suites were so convenient and comfortable, and my guests enjoyed having so many options to explore between the great room, the upstairs and downstairs patios, the lawn, and the barn. I love this venue so much, I chose to hold my rehearsal dinner and a post-wedding Sunday brunch there as well! April was so incredibly kind and helpful both before the wedding (which was a long period of time - I booked way back in December 2015!) as well as at all three of my events. She truly cares about the people she hosts, and goes above and beyond to make sure your event is exactly the way you want it. I encourage anyone looking for a venue to visit Cricket Hill Ranch - I guarantee you will fall in love with it too!

We met with them twice prior to the date of the event to get a tour and learn more about the facility and to finalize all the details. This venue has a chapel (which we did not use) and a basement area (which is not entirely an underground basement). We only rented the bottom portion. The a/c felt wonderful on a hot August afternoon! The area had tables and chairs for us to use as well as a full sized kitchen and bathrooms. It also has a grooms room (which we used for the kids to watch tv) and a brides room ( which we used to hold our personal belongings and boxes). The venue also has a parking lot for guests to park. I highly recommend this venue to anybody who is looking for a smaller area such as for a baby shower, bridal shower, graduation party or smaller wedding. I believe it can seat 65-70 comfortably and possibly a little more snug. Bricks and Blossom is definitely a sweet hidden gem in Staples, Tx!

There are many aspects about this…read moreplace that make it unique, which is why we chose it after a year-long search for the right venue. We couldn't have been happier with our experience. First and foremost, the Director, Amanda, went above and beyond to answer questions throughout our entire planning process (which is NOT standard but she has like a decade of experience in this industry and offers support anyway). Second, the location is incredible, it doesn't feel like Texas, it feels like a remote Italian villa, hence the name lol. The building is so beautiful that you really don't NEED a ton of decor for it to feel elegant. The vineyard, especially in the spring/summer months, is the most gorgeous backdrop for the outdoor ceremony site. Third, the bride and groom suites are unmatched. I had 30 people in my bridal party (crazy, I know ha) and we had plenty of room. The spaces are decorated with modern and chic elements that make the day feel that much more special. Lastly, it's the details for me! The restrooms are very clean, spacious and elegant looking. The fountain in the front (where we did our first look) is so romantic. The outdoor patio area with fairy lights is inviting. The landscaping was in perfect condition. The hideaway door/stairwell connected to the bridal suite for the bride to use was so convenient. The ability to bring in our own vendors helped us reduce our cost significantly. The flexibility of this space really allows you to make it your own for your event. Highly recommend!!!
