The unmatched natural beauty of Spring Lake was the perfect back drop to our ceremony on the water's edge at Sycamore Point. We rented the pretty white chairs for seating down there. One thing I would note about that site is that the walk from our ceremony to the dinner was a bit long for our elderly guests. We decided to hire a pedi-cab for a couple hours to shuttle folks around the park before and after the ceremony. I highly recommend this, or a golf cart, if you plan your ceremony for Sycamore Point. We rented out the glass-bottom boats for our guests, which made for a truly unique and memorable cocktail hour before dinner on the rooftop of the historic hotel (now the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment). They even let us use their tables and 50 chairs! (We did have to rent some extras for our large group). The staff was great and there was ample parking for our guests. As Bobcat Alumni, river-rats, and stewards of the planet, my husband and I couldn't be more thrilled to have shared this natural treasure with all the people we love. I mistake it for someone's home because there's a few people inside and it looks awfully tiny to be a restaurant. Out of curiosity we walk into the building and upstairs where we've met by the backs of the members of a live jazz band. We have to walk past the band to get into the room and that alone almost stopped us from coming inside. However realizing that's the only way into we room we do. To our surprise in this room (think a studio apartment) there's a full bar and quite a few people. This room also held the members of the jazz band who were rotating themselves from bar to band every few songs. This is what you can find in the TheUpRoot every Thursday. Every other week there is a beautiful restaurant a floor below.

Opened the couch bed to an unopened pack of airhead extreme strips (yum, didn't eat though) As well as what looked to be a lid to takeout with sauce on the cap. Not very pleasant... Showing they most likely didn't look in the pull out or just missed it entirely. Couch bed didn't look very clean nor comfy but got the job done at least. Bathroom was pretty nice, no waking up the family with a shower, extremely quiet water and soft water pressure. Our room had two queen beds. Clean sheets, spacious. Kitchen comes with mini fridge, mini sink, microwave, coffee machine, and under cabinet. The hotel in general was inviting with warm lighting, a bar, breakfast, food service, enough seating to fit my whole family tree down to my ancestors from the 13th century. Service was okay, front ladies are great! Only thing was when you dial the front desk, you start with a automated voice. I requested a cot for my brother, to which it said ok and that it will be brought to my door, 30 minutes.. nothing. So we recalled and ask to be transferred to a human at the desk to which they informed us they do not carry cots. All good. Not so heated pool btw. We appreciate they work they do though. It's also the one that feels the most safest…read more Love the amenities and all but of course with a setup like this paragraph there is definitely a but. You will NOT get any sleep here. Not because it's loud. It's not. Not because of rodents. Never had an issue there. Not because it has thin walls. No issues there. It is because of the BEDS. They have hands down the very worse beds ever made. You're bones will be in pain the next morning. And you will be tossing and turning the entire night. Let me be clear. I actually like a firm bed. But these beds are simply uncomfortable. I found better comfort sitting up on the sofas with my feet up on the center table. Seriously. It's that bad. I've tried other hotels in the area and the stay at those are just sketchy. If you go here, bring yourself a blow up mattress and sleep on it instead. The beds here are horrible. In fact ALL Hampton Inns are the same when it comes to the beds. You have been warned. Hotel is a 4 but the beds get Zero stars. Enjoy your stay and Prosper.

We were able to accommodate all 99 of our guests in the ballroom with room to walk through the tables. The building is so charming and both Clay and his helper were so helpful with everything we needed for this event. We had a slide presentation, a harpist playing and a social in the Garden Room before going into the Ballroom for the meal. The foyer is where the food was served and it allowed room on both sides of this foyer for food items. You won't go wrong using the Price Center for your next event! Clay and his staff work hard to make sure all your event needs are met!

Water pressure in shower was good. We received a clear text prior to arrival explaining exactly where to park. Very easy self check in. Zelick's is next door and had a live band until 10pm. It didn't bother us at all (they provide ear plugs & a noise maker) It's an old house, so keep that in mind. We love the charm of places like this, but recognize others do not. We regularly come to San Marcos to visit our son and this was our favorite stay so far.
