I was out at Texas Old Town in Kyle last weekend for a friends wedding and the place is honestly pretty quaint and really well kept. The ceremony setup and grounds have that classic Texas charm and everything felt relaxed and easy. Just know that this place is way out from Austin proper. Once you are there it is beautiful and peaceful, but it is definitely a bit of a haul. Still a great spot to celebrate with friends. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE. DO NOT rent this for your wedding. They don't tell you that they have a terrible water problem. The ENTIRE place smells like a dirty toilet. The water is also undrinkable. Smells aweful. I can't imagine that this place is still in business. What a way to ruin a wedding. read more

WHAT COULD IMPROVE YOU ASK??? You could have security cameras or at least post signs warning people not to leave ANYTHING visible in their vehicles or at least leave their doors unlocked so their windows do not get bashed in! We went to a beautiful wedding anniversary party for a lovely and couple while we were enjoying our meal. People ran in frantically when they discovered that three vehicles windows had been busted and all their belongings stolen. This is absolutely ridiculous. Do not book this venue for your event don't even think about it. This happens there often I'm afraid as is there is no security no measures to keep your belongings safe and it's really sad that it had to ruin a beautiful special occasion. I was very mad about the whole thing, even though I wasn't affected directly, thar being said I wouldn't go here for any gathering EVER IN THE FUTURE! read more

I got married at redbud hall. My wedding was small and honestly i liked how i had pretty much free range for everything. The only thing i didn't have a complete say over was alcohol. I had to choose between three places and they were all reasonably priced. I wanted to get married outside but it ended up being extremely hot so TOT helped move chairs inside so i could get married inside. Beautiful outside are so i had the most beautiful pictures with the best background. read more

We went here for a daily members wedding. It was on a Thursday and the service was at 4:00pm outside, so it was hot - real hot. The guest seating was on the sun but the be wedding party was under a nice covered mini pavilion. Very rustic. The hall the reception was in was called Redbud. Plenty of room for our event of about 100 people. Nice stage area. Nice bar and serving area. Dance floor can be as big as you want it to be. The provided the table n chairs. Really a nice county rustic setting. ALCOHOL: The biggest thing I think people should be aware of is on the bartending situation if you're serving alcohol. First, the bar tender was great and very accommodating - so no issues with him at all. So there are two options - use their bartender or bring in someone from outside. Option 1: If you bring in an outside person or company, you must also provide police security. Option 2 (what we did due to budget issues): use their recommended bartender: we had to furnish all the alcohol, beer, wine and liquor, the set ups and mixers. Ice and ice chests. EVERYTHING. We had to set it up and tear it down. He only served. Again, he was super nice and accommodating. The lace was great. I have no idea of the costs as I was not involved in that part of it. read more

Texas Old town is such a lovely venue. We really want to thank Kara and all of the TOT staff for helping to make our wedding such a lovely event. Due to the current situation, we needed to make sure that we had a venue that could accommodate a 50% capacity. TOT was able to work with us to help and make sure that we could meet the current local regulations. We ended up picking Sage hall, which is a beautiful hall. It has gorgeous chandeliers and lighted drapery hanging from the exposed beams in the ceiling. It had the simple elegance that we were looking for in a wedding venue. The outside of the hall and TOT grounds are gorgeous as well. The grounds are excellent for taking beautiful pictures. TOT also helped us to find a lot of the vendors that we ended up using. Their recommendations were great. We cannot thank TOT enough for letting us rent Sage hall and helping through these difficult and stressful times. You're ONLY paying for the room. I am an entertainer and I've played thousands of events. It's very unusual to operate a venue business where furniture setup and breakdown ISN'T part of the rental agreement. Also the alcohol arrangement makes zero sense. You can ONLY serve alcohol at your event if you hire Texas Rita's. But guess what? TR doesn't ACTUALLY PROVIDE any alcohol. They're just a bartender/Rita machine rental company. YOU have to buy and provide all supplies, coolers, cups, ice, booze. So why are we paying for a middle man? I was told they didn't have a liquor license, so why are they called "Texas Rita's" and why are clients REQUIRED to contract through them if we want to serve beer/wine? Sounds pretty shady...but other than that the room is lovely. read more

It's a beautiful venue but the staff didn't disclose to us that the weekend of our wedding was also the Formula 1 race which would hike up the prices of all things related to travel so we had to change our date if we wanted anyone to come. And they knew we were wanting a date that didn't coincide with anything else and chose not to tell us. They were also rude to my mother when she went to check out the venue. She didn't have an appointment, but she said they were rude and didn't seem to care about the road closure leading into the venue, causing it to be more difficult for guests to find the place. And you have to do a lot yourself. For what you're paying you would think they would do a little more. read more

My best friend decided to go with Texas Old Town as her wedding venue, and it could not have been any more perfect. From its breathtaking views to its authentic southern-style design, this is a wonderful place to hold special events. It's located off the interstate kind of in the middle of nowhere (hence the southern vibe,) but I liked that. It wasn't interrupted by any surrounding buildings to ruin the beautiful picture it paints. It is broken up into a few different halls; I was lucky enough to get to experience the gorgeous Tejas Hall. Inside the hall is large, clean, and very lovely. Our upstairs bridal room was a little small, but it had enough space for us to get ready with no worries. One of the managers even took the time to keep checking on us to make sure everything was okay, and she was very friendly. The outside is the best part. The cermony is held in an area behind the building, with a huge pasture to the left and a gazebo right in the center. The reception was wonderful and I'm very happy that my friend was able to experience the best day of her life at this incredible venue. read more

Beautiful. Stunning. Breathtaking. Whimsical. All the above are true accolades of how wonderful the place looks. In a sweet, romantic way it is a fanciful view of the best of Texas. We had an event at the Tejas and I fell in love with this place. In fact, I liked it so much that I think I absolutely need to start crashing weddings each week until I've been at all of their facilities. When you come in the road is lined with roadlamps that are made out of old kerosene lanterns. That was super cool. After you get thru the main gates, pay attention. To the right are some signs that show what event is at which facility. They are spread out so just follow the signs at the intersections which point you the way. The Tejas was massive. It had a wonderful old dance hall/saloon feel to it. Outside were quaint, ivy covered buildings which could be other drink serving stations, an old saloon looking building housing the bathrooms, a big event stage/dancing area and beautiful lawns and water. You just have to see it to believe it. If you have an event that you would like staged in a memorable spot - make it here. If you don't, try to crash the next wedding. Just don't get me in trouble and say that I encouraged you. read more

Let me start off by saying I hate to be writing this review. Never in my life have I written a bad review for a place, but my experience with TOT warrants a negative review. If I could give it zero stars, I absolutely would. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, but our experience could not have been worse. Our wedding night was interrupted by a visit from the sheriff's department. The 'on-site coordinator', who popped in and out of the hall as they saw fit, didn't communicate with us AT ALL before taking this course of action. We were told that they called the cops on us because they 'didn't know what else to do' since they witnessed our guests drinking out of their own bottles and not drinks served by Texas Ritas. The fact that Texas Ritas is a mandatory vendor, but fail to provide absolutely ANYTHING for beverages is ridiculous. We pay $1000 solely for the bartenders to provide a service? No alcohol, no drinks, nothing included in the package but a margarita mix which you still have to provide tequila for. The day before our wedding I went out of my way to share my cell phone and my Maid of Honors cell phone number with the event coordinator in case there was a problem. When the police officers were called, I asked why this rule breaking wasn't communicated with us before calling the cops. She simply responded that she never saved our numbers. We didn't get a single call or a conversation before we had a group of police officers literally come through the door and disrupt our event. How do you expect guests to pay over $6,000 for nothing but the venue then call the police on them? Additionally, we're expected to clean up after ourselves but were not provided with a single mop or broom. DO NOT BOOK YOUR EVENT AT TEXAS OLD TOWN. read more

I've had a number of experiences at Texas Old Town as an event guest over the past several years--events from annual summer office retreats to a wedding. TOT is truly a multipurpose venue--or should I say "venues". TOT has four halls, each environment isolated from the other: Redbud, Sage, Stone, and Tejas, . They can indeed host four weddings simultaneously. My office retreats have all been hosted at Redbud Hall. Approaching this location, you feel as though you've gone back in time to a Pioneer town and expect to see the ghost of Hoss Cartwright or Festus at any moment. Given that I am a big fan of Americana and given the setting, I was halfway hoping for a gunfight. Well, we probably always have the necessary combatants on hand, no doubt, but the showdown never happened. On the flip side, the grounds and venue were flexible enough that they allowed for outdoor activities after our bellies were full. But the best event so far (and the one that caused me to write this review) was a Saturday wedding I attended in mid-January at Tejas Hall. Of course, the success of any wedding has a lot more to do with the budget, the preparation and the participants than anything else, but a bad venue can certainly detract from the joy of the moment. Luckily, Tejas Hall provided the perfect ambiance for my friends' wedding. The gazebo stage, sound system, and seating were particularly idyllic and gave everyone in the modestly large guest list a personal experience of the ceremony. Ironically, to add to the rustic theme, the wedding ceremony was occasionally punctuated with the sounds of unrelated distant gunfire. Make no mistake--it wasn't a shotgun wedding--but I guess I finally got my gunfight at TOT! After the ceremony, the bride had thoughtfully provided for an open bar in the outdoor courtyard area while the requisite wedding photography was executed. TOT's staff did an excellent job of keeping the bride's guests happy and hydrated. Nearby were commodious restrooms that were clean, well-stocked. Last but not least, we moseyed into Tejas Hall itself for dinner and good times. The hall was so large that no one ever felt crowded, yet small enough that mingling was easy. The indoor bar was staged discreetly at the back of the capacious room, always nearby for a sip, but never in the way. The bride had also provided for a photo booth to capture the lighter side of her big day, and there was lots of room for the revelry that ensued. The dance floor was kept busy all night and had enough space for children and adults to each do their thing. Despite being off the beaten path, Texas Old Town deserves serious consideration for a wedding and event venue, especially if you're in the market for a Texas-themed facility. While I can't speak to the all-important issues of affordability and workability, at least from a guest's vantage point, I can enthusiastically say TOT provided all the makings for a lifetime of memories. read more

Careful booking with this place for a wedding! Several reasons: mostly dirt surrounding the venue. By the time the wedding started my shoes, after having them shined, looked like I had just hiked in them. The biggest reason to be cautious with using this venue is it is "do it yourself". There was no one to help clean !! The bride and groom had to help clean!!! No concierge No attendant whatsoever!!! It is a nice peaceful location but A LOT of money for nothing!!!! read more

I attended a wedding here. And even though the actual reception didnt necessarily have a schedule, when you're in a raw space with little management presence, you kind of get to do what you want. So we spent the majority of the day in the upstairs bridal dressing area and then the majority of the night dancing our life away. It seemed that it was a product in/trash out venue so there's definitely some work at the end but at the very least, it was all unfinished wood and twinkly lights and whatever you wanted to happen between the bar and the full kitchen and the sound system. read more

Our wedding was held in the beautiful Sage Hall. I viewed several venues all over Austin and surrounding areas and had made a few possible selections. Then I came across Texas Old Town. The moment of my first contact with Texas Old Town, I felt valued as a potential customer. I regularly interacted with Martha, the site Manager. I honestly could not have asked for a more professional and helpful contact for them. As all brides tend to have, there were "things that came up" from my side and Martha was always very accommodating. We had frequent access to our venue for planning and measurements. They have a list of suggested vendors, but you do not have to use them. This was a rare find as most venues require you to use their preferred vendors. Please all around. Couldn't have asked for a better place to have our special day. We absolutely loved the venue- Stone Hall is BEAUTIFUL. All of our guests were blown away with the venue. The surroundings are so peaceful, it makes you want to just sit there and take it all in. The staff was great so attentive to our needs but stayed on the sidelines so we could do what we had planned. Their flexibility to pick all of our vendors except the bartenders worked well with our vision and budget. The staff were great at quickly replying to any of our questions. We really liked that we had the space all day and that furniture and cleanup/tear down was included in the price. This venue (specifically Tejas Hall) was exactly what we were looking for to add some sweet southern beauty to our south Texas wedding. This venue has a beautiful outdoor ceremony area and a spacious and rustic indoor reception area. It also holds a large amount of guests, which was perfect for the 350 + people that we invited. The consultants did a great job at keeping up with me and touching base from time to time, and they were able to set up a payment plan to get the venue paid off in a way that suits our budget. When you enter the Texas Old Town property, you feel as though you've returned to a time from the past. It's beautiful mature trees, and landscaped gardens all add the the warm Texas vibe the property carries. Our wedding and reception were held on 8/26/11 in Texas Old Town - Redbud Hall with about 100 guests. Martha and Danny - both were very friendly, patient, informative, and quick to respond. Danny and I began discussing rental terms 9 months before our event and was my main contact through the contract stage, Martha made sure all the loose ends were tied and was there to oversee the event on the day of. Upon arrival our ceremony chairs were placed outside so we could set them us as we wished. The grass was perfectly cut and green. I LOVE the stone path leading to the arbor and also that the arbor provides some shade. Both the ceremony site and reception hall were very clean. The reception hall chairs and tables were placed in the middle of the room which made setting up a breeze. Some sound guys came in and offered to allow us to listen to music while we were setting up...bonus points for friendly staff. Recently they're updated the curtains in the Redbud Hall dressing rooms and added some very comfortable couches. The kitchen was a little outdated - but if you have a caterer, the only thing you'll really need to use is the refrigerator (which is big AND cold). We were in no way cramped in the hall and had a pretty large dance floor. If I were getting married again, I would without a doubt use Texas Old Town again. read more

Martha was super helpful and always got right back to me with any emails or texts I sent her. I am at awe this is a secret ,and I thought I knew it all as far as wedding venues but this is in Kyle hidden in the country off country roads the area has plenty of parking, two different locations were the weddings are going on . Beware!!!! Texas Old Town will not refund your money, even if they cancel your wedding. They did not honor their contract that stated that they will refund money paid if they are the ones to cancel the wedding. They are trying to not refund us over $2.6k that we paid in advance. They canceled our wedding date and basically told us tough luck. Get a lawyer if you do business with them. Better yet, avoid them. Unbelievable. read more

This venue was absolutely AMAZING! The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. They even let us borrow the office shower, a projector screen, and had staff help us frequently throughout our wedding day. Our caterer didn't deliver anything they were supposed to (they were not affiliated with Texas Old Town in any way) and the gentleman who was our manager for the evening at Texas Old Town mentioned it to the bride and groom having their wedding in the hall next to us. They donated some of their food to us because of the managers explanation! Without him helping, and them donating, our wedding would have been a total disaster. Texas Old Town is massive! A venue big enough that it's only rightly place is here in Texas. I've been our here a number of times for different events and I've still not seen the whole property. I recommend the place for any wedding where you'd want to show your guests a place to relax and spread out on the dance floor. The warm, elegant colors of the wood buildings and the surrounding greenery of the hill country ought to be all it takes to shut you right up and enjoy the serenity of the place. And if that doesn't give you the calm you're looking for, Aubrey Cline is the assistant manager there and she take care of it. She's a great communicator and will do what needs to be done to get your event running smoothly. I can't speak highly enough about the staff here. read more

Despite the feared heat (it was really hot during the rehearsal) and the catepillars that fell from the cover and made their way up her dress, it was awesome. Texas Old Town provided the perfect backdrop for our spring wedding ceremony. The scenery is beautiful as was the ceremony site and Redbud Hall. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating and I loved having access to the facilities from 8am-midnight on my wedding day. The bridal dressing area was large enough for myself and 5 bridesmaids to get ready with my mom and 2 hair stylists in the room with us. This last month of March has been a matrimonial grind. I've had a wedding every single weekend... But I can say with all confidence that the wedding at Texas Old Town has been the best!! The beauty of this place is in the simplicity of the decor. The wood building makes for a soft and warm ambience that you want in a wedding. The grounds are landscaped perfectly with a small creek running through it. My only problem with this place is a trek to Kyle, Texas. Tejas Hall was beautiful. The ceremony site was amazing. The staff got my daughter's name wrong and kept harassing the d.j and catering staff to be out and have everything clean by 12am. I had already told them and don't think it was necessary to do that. In the contract it stated that they could only do showings until 1pm but they still had people walking into the hall at 4pm. there are so many great things to be said about Texas Old Town, but i'll try to keep this short & sweet. of all the wedding venues we found in and around the Austin area, Texas Old Town was by far the best value for the price and hands down the most naturally gorgeous venue around. Texas Old Town has pretty much everything you'll need to make your big day a stunning success, and with four separate sites to choose from, you really can't go wrong. for us, some of the highlights of TOT included: -- a wonderful, welcoming & helpful staff -- the grounds are beautiful & are secluded from traffic & neighborhood noise -- bride & groom changing rooms include a full bathroom with shower, along with a couch & plenty of mirrors -- all four sites include an outdoor ceremony site & indoor and/or outdoor reception area(s) -- chairs for the ceremony site and tables/chairs for the reception halls are included! our wedding took place at Redbud Hall, and because it was already such a naturally beautiful space, we needed minimal decorations (which translates into minimal clean-up). unlike many other venues we came across, clean-up after your event was taken care of by the TOT staff. all you are responsible for is taking what you don't want thrown away. trust me--this is a wonderful thing! the last thing you (and your guests, friends, family) will want to do at the end of your big day is clean up. many thanks to Martha & the TOT staff for all your hard work in making our wedding an event to remember forever and ever and ever and ever... read more
