Beautiful wedding venue! The bridal suite was incredible and every inch of the property was just magical!!

When my husband and I first drove up to The Winfield Inn, we immediately fell in love with the charm and uniqueness that the property offers. After touring the property with the owner, we decided this was the special place we wanted to tie the knot, so we quickly signed the paperwork and sent our deposit to secure our Friday wedding date. Initially, I felt very confident in the owner, Leslie, and was extremely excited to be working with him. That all changed in the few months leading up to our wedding date. My husband and I discussed with Leslie in person, on two separate occasions and once via email, about us staying the Thursday night before our wedding and having our bridal party stay in the various beds/bedrooms on the property. When Leslie called us the week before our wedding to finalize everything, he claimed that he had no idea we were having other people come and stay and proceeded to tell me it was "a misunderstanding on your part" and that he would require not only an extra one thousand dollars, but that the cottage, that was set to house half of our party, did not have running hot water. We were left to scramble at the last minute to find a new place for our family. Fast forward to the Thursday before our wedding: we get there after the 3pm check in time to start setting up and decorating, and the pavilion is a wreck. The ceiling and walls were caked in dirt, there were leaves and dirt all over the floor and the tables were not set up, as per our contract. We did not complain, just grabbed the broom and swept and set the tables up ourselves. The next day, we were left scrambling for trash bags (per our contract, the venue supplied trash bags), there were strings of lights that were out, and there was a dead bird in the pavilion. As the evening went on, the owner Leslie, showed up towards the last few hours of our reception and proceeded to bombard our day of coordinator with questions about trash clean up and haul off, after we had already informed him that we hired people to take care of everything. We did not notice until a few days later, that Leslie had sent my husband an email on the night of our wedding stating that we should "go ahead and send him $250 for clean up." It did not end there. A week later, my husband reached out to Jack, the property manager, to ask about a few missing items we thought might have been left on the property. Jack then informed us that one of our guests had popped a balloon with confetti in it, in the grass, in which he stated we should "bring a vacuum" to clean it up. Once my husband confronted him with the various issues we had that previous week at our wedding, Jack quickly turned the blame to the owner saying that "Leslie is in over his head at times." The amount of unprofessionalism shown by these two men was, and still is, extremely disappointing. The owner was clearly unorganized and would frequently confuse me with the Saturday bride. My husband and I were questioned on whether we made our deposit and final payment the week before our wedding and requested receipts. I found out a few weeks after my wedding, that the owner was trying to blame me, as the bride, for the lack of basic housekeeping for his business (bedsheets changed, beds made, toilets scrubbed, floors swept and mopped). It has taken me a few months to write this review because every time I thought about my wedding, it would bring negative reminders of the unnecessary stress and issues that were added by the venue. I am now able to focus on the only positive, which is marrying my husband. The Winfield Inn is an extremely unique and gorgeous property, but the owner and property manager, in my opinion, are not worth the money, or stress. Until the owner hires someone to take over management, I will not be recommending this venue to anyone in the near future. read more

We are overjoyed to say that we had our dream wedding thanks to the good people here. The day of was stressful enough without having to be bothered with small details. The staff and owner went out of their way to make sure everything flowed according to our specifications. We felt heard, cared for and pristinely held. Our guests could not stop saying how impressed they were with every facet of the venue The food was delicious The cake was spectacular Ambiance was 5 star The house and grounds are GORGEOUS We couldn't be more pleased and grateful We opted for the micro wedding package "Meal Wine and Design" While having a micro wedding, we didn't want it to read "micro wedding" It looked and felt very posh. My good friend was married here recently, and I was a bridesmaid. They were able to reserve the big old house on the property for the night before and the night of the wedding. So, us bridesmaids (and the bride) were able to stay in the house the night before. The house is decorated in the time period it was built (early 1900's?) and so everything has an old vintage charm. The beds were huge and comfortable, and the bedrooms were a pretty good size too. It worked out very well, and the best part is we woke up to the smell of bacon the next morning because the people that run the place were cooking us a lavish bridesmaid breakfast! Talk about feeling like a spoiled princess... So we were able to get ready in the house and then it was time for the ceremony, which took place outside in a gazebo. There is a neat chandelier that is above the aisle, attached to a tree--- really cool for pictures! The reception took place in an open pavilion, which to my understanding can be closed in if need be (bad weather). The pavilion was no less than huge, and had dim-able lighting. My understanding also is that the Winfield provides the catering for your event, and I thought it was all pretty good! And last but not least, the on-site wedding coordinator April and her intern were very pleasant and relaxed to work with. I won't be getting married here, but this really was a cute place! The Winfield Inn was a PERFECT wedding venue. From the moment my family, husband & I first stepped onto the lawn, we knew it was the right location. We had seen over 10 wedding venues in Austin and the surrounding area. Each was either too small or overly expensive. I actually had scheduled the appointment at Winfield thinking we wouldn't even go. I apologized the whole way down ("I can't believe I would do this" "It's so far away from Austin"). When we arrived we were immediately greeted by April who showed us the grounds. The process from that moment forward was perfection. The house is insanely beautiful, the gazebo, and the pavilion. However, it was the amazing staff (April & Laura) who made all the difference. The process was relaxed, Word of Mouth Catering was so good, and overall their attention to detail really made us feel special in the weeks leading up to the big day. Laura was such a wonderful day of co-coordinator. She really made us feel like everything was on point the day of (which it totally was). She even wrangled the flower girl (who was not even two years old)! I can't recommend this venue more. Don't hesitate, book an appointment, see the grounds. We had family come from Minnesota, California, New York, and Florida. Everyone was amazed with how beautiful the wedding was, how perfectly everything went. Everything and everyone was perfect! Cannot brag enough and our family and friends loved it all, too. When your daughter tells you her wedding was everything and more, you know it went well! The grounds were beautiful, food was delicious, all the rentals were great, and recommended vendors excellent. The home was perfect for getting ready, for pictures and for the couple to stay the night. Nice job on painting inside and out recently, too. Thank-you to all the staff at The Winfield Inn for all your help, advice and continued support. You got asked many a question and never seemed bothered by any and we really appreciated your help. The property is really pretty and has a great location! The customer service isn't the best. I tried to book them for an event and it was so hard to reach them. We would email back and fourth a lot but when it came time for me the book the venue they stopped replying I eventually had to cancel and book somewhere else. If you want to book with them I recommend doing it in person, their communication skills online are not great... read more

I LOVE The Winfield Inn! We were looking at places to hold our wedding, which turned into our renewal of vows, but still, a wedding of sorts! We were tipped about the Winfield Inn, and when it turns out it's an all-in-one place with some wedding coordinating help all throughout, I couldn't be happier. The grounds are beautiful; even with the drought they manage to keep most of the grounds green, with some assistance by a well they have on-site. We recently had our tasting, as well, and as much as some reviews from the staff are usually exaggerating about the awesomeness of their product, this time the staff and reviews online did not disappoint: our tasting was great, and we can only hope as much for the actual event :) The coordinators we've been talking to have been absolute angels as well, gracious to a fault. Think: yes, you pay a bit extra, but they take care of linens, tableware, flatware, glassware, tables and chairs, tablecloth, even a Plan B in case it rains....PLUS a complimentary night's stay the night of your wedding with breakfast of your choice the day after, and of course, full access to the grounds the whole time of your event! I think that's a pretty good deal. Yes, you pay for the convenience, but convenience is good! read more

Our daughter was married and had her reception at The Winfield Inn. We can't say enough good about the service, attentiveness, beautiful surroundings, classy atmosphere, and cleanliness of this wedding venue. I even had to remark to Robyn, one of the wedding planners, that I appreciated that every time I asked if we could do something, or if they could do something, her immediate answer was, "Yes!" She made it happen and I didn't have to think about it again. The ceremony was outside under the huge trees, with gorgeous white chairs, and a small covered, raised gazebo for the wedding couple and officiant. There was a brick lined walk-way and brick pavers for each groomsman/bridesmaid, so no-one had to worry about heels getting stuck or uneven path. The woodsy backdrop and the large plants and ferns were so pretty that unless we just wanted to go over the top, we literally did not have to spend a dime on additional decor at the ceremony site. It was beautiful just like they set it up. The only place for a reception is this HUGE outdoor covered pavilion. Again, it was so beautiful, that very little additional decor was necessary. The Winfield staff set up everything we wanted, and took it all down as part of their package. They have a variety of beautiful colored table coverings and napkins, and just about anything else we could think of . The Winfield requires you use their catering services, but don't worry, it is not only very reasonably priced, but excellent. Everyone in my family is a true "foodie" snob. We are mostly native Austinites and VERY particular about what we serve our guests. I heartily recommend The Winfield Inn-they will give you a tasting meal of your menu choices. This place is so beautiful, inside and out, that there is a photo op place every time you turn around. Definitely plan your bridal photos on the grounds, or in the lovely antique rooms of the Winfield Inn. Like I said, can't say enough... :) read more

A great venue tucked away in Kyle. We recently went to a wedding ( In late May) and the live oaks provided beautiful shade for the ceremony. It has a large parking area upfront and you enter through a beautiful garden area. The ceremony took place in their outdor chapel that provided seating for 100, Im sure you can fit more. They have an onsite B&B, we didnt check this out but iuts nice to get ready before the ceremony or whatever event you are having. The main attraction is the open air event center. It is beautiful and affords enough room for 150 people to dance (not well) slip and slide or play the largest game of red rover! Great venue read more

I got married at the Winfield back in May, and for the most part everything went pretty smoothly! When my fiance and I were searching for venues, The Winfield won hands down - no contest. Every time we came out there we felt right at home and were assured that everything would turn out just like we wanted it. My only complaint is communication. I felt like they could have communicated with us a little better about the outline of the reception, ceremony, where to pick everything up the day after, etc. Every time I asked one of them, they were confident and acted like everything was under control, which seemed great at the time being a stressed out Bride ---- but a little more discussion between us would have been nice. During the reception, the DJ had to step up to announce the toasts, father/daughter dance, cake cutting, etc. The wedding coordinator was MIA! Besides that, the wedding was beautiful, the food was excellent, and everyone is still talking about how unforgettable it was. (Oh, and we're married... that's all that matters!) read more

I don't even know where to start...We are fresh off of our wedding weekend - And still on a total high! I can not even begin to count the number of times I raved to our guests about how fantastic our experience was with TWI and that I shared "I would have my wedding here again in a heartbeat!" My husband and I live in Dallas. We chose to have a Hill Country wedding in Kyle because it is our "special place." We've visited a local bed and breakfast in Kyle many times over the years and cherish the relaxed vibe we get when in Hill Country. We wanted an equally comfortable feel for our wedding and were looking for a wedding venue that could convey this and share the awesomeness of Hill Country to our (mostly) out of state guests. We had a long list of venues to visit, but TWI was only our second stop in wedding venue visits - that was all we needed! We didn't even bother continuing down the list. The beauty of TWI took our breath away. You get so much bang for your buck by having a wedding here and the attention given to us from the staff was priceless. TWI has EVERYTHING for you: gorgeous grounds, covered ceremony options in case of rain (so you don't have to worry about renting tents ($$$)), tables, chair, glass and place settings, linens, in-house catering, in-house wait staff and bartenders, day-off coordinators (included in our rate), loads of decor items that you can borrow, gorgeous bridal/groom suites...the list goes on and on and on....And did I mention it's BYOB?? Do not go through the hassle of having a wedding at a place where you have to rent all of the items listed above separately. You will go CRAZY! Make it easy on yourself. Have an event at TWI and you won't regret it...I promise!! For a Dallas bride planning a wedding 4 hours away, I never expected to go into my wedding weekend so relaxed - It has everything to do with TWI (and a loving husband and family ;)). read more

The Winfield is amazing! (Read my first review below.) I just read one of the other reviews here and wanted to add my own thoughts. First of all, the pricing was not confusing at all. On the estimate, everything is itemized and listed by number and price per person, so you can easily decide what can be changed for your budget. The payment is divided and all the due dates are also printed so you can easily plan for that. We were concerned about the price of food, and Robyn suggested a wonderful, yet affordable, menu. If you change anything, Robyn and Jodi prepare your new estimate within a day and send you an updated one. They also adjust for your headcount and send you updates based on that. As for the rules, the Winfield does have some. One is the volume of the music, which we were concerned about but ended up being very loud. Another rule is that alcohol has to be declared ahead of time and served by the Winfield bartenders. They DID end up confiscating a bottle of whiskey that a groomsman brought in, but a simple solution for that is just to anticipate that and add it to your alcohol list; then instruct the bartenders that it is only for the groomsmen. read more

Robyn and her interns at The Winfield Inn were absolutely amazing. Our experience the day of the wedding was better than we could have imagined. The food was delicious and Robyn and her crew were wonderful at keeping us on schedule. I did not have to worry about a thing that day. One of the interns overheard that my contacts were blurry (from all the crying) and immediately brought me a bottle of contact solution. Talk about service! Leading up to the wedding, the staff responded within 24 hours to all emails. In the beginning, the communication between the staff regarding our wedding seemed to be lacking, so the planning on my end was very stressful. But they profusely apologized and compensated us very well. To sum up, we would not change a thing and would definitely use The Winfield Inn if we had to do it all over again. When my partner and I began looking for wedding venues, we knew we would have a couple of uphill battles. We lived out of state, we are on a tight budget (both being in grad school) and we were two ladies getting married in a less than welcoming state for marriage equality. We found places that couldn't fit in our budget, that would be hard to plan away from Texas and that turned us down flat out because we were having a same sex wedding. When we spoke with the gals at the Winfield Inn all of our bad experiences and fears subsided. We began planning about a year and a half before our wedding and even this far in advance they made us feel as if we were the most important people they were working with; they were quick to respond to emails, sent us swatches of linens to Chicago and worked over the price many times. My partner is INCREDIBLY organized and they matched her to a T. I was originally dreading the planning process, but the staff at the WI made not only the day of the most incredible day of our lives, but the planning process a complete joy! I surprised my partner with a flash mob at the reception, so I constantly had to email the staff a new "schedule" and details about communicating with the group of when to arrive and where to hide out. They took care of everything! ** One thing to note to show how incredible they are... our wedding was on Nov.1st and the two days before Austin had a torrential down pour... more rain than they had seen in decades. We were a little nervous about the grounds, since we heard that other venues that we had looked at had to cancel weddings because of the damage. But we also knew that the WI staff are incredible and we felt that they had it under control. And of course they did! The grounds looked untouched when we arrived the day of! When we arrived the day of the staff was already hard at work putting the reception together (mind you this was a few hours in advance of the wedding). The space is incredibly gorgeous! Highlighting the best of the Texas Hill Country. They take incredible care of the grounds and the house that resides there. The trees that weave through the property made for some incredible pictures and we enjoyed taking a stroll before and after the festivities to take some time for ourselves. We did our rehearsal the day of, this was our decision, the WI totally advises doing it the day before but they were incredible at helping us do it the day of. Additionally, my partner and I decided to opt out of our rehearsal (we actually suggest this for everyone) it was a great time to ourselves to relax and to regroup our thoughts and not have to stress out about where people needed to stand etc. April at the WI totally took care of it and made sure everyone knew where they were going and what they were doing. When it came time for the actual ceremony, we were able to watch it all unfold for the first time and just react how we normally would. After the ceremony was complete we moved into the reception and it was the most magical place! They had everything ready, nothing looked out of place, it was our dream! Our menu was pretty custom, we did Indian fusion food (Samosas, coconut shrimp, veggie korma, rice, lavender chicken, salad) and it was INCREDIBLE! Our guests came up to us at the reception and told us how wonderful we looked but the next comment was how wonderful the food was! I know that they must have been working so hard behind the scenes of the reception but we didn't notice them at all. EVERYTHING just happened, and it felt so natural and wonderful. It was THE most incredible night of our lives, and the WI has everything to do with making it so! We decided to stay at the WI that night, the room had water, tea, and our left over pie in case we needed a snack. No one was there to bother us at the end of the night, they just let us be while everything got cleaned up and back to where it belonged. We woke up the next morning to the smell of pancakes, bacon, and eggs (our breakfast we had requested). We had an incredible breakfast and walked around the property to take in one last time the most incredible night we had just had. I honestly would put anything in the hands of the staff at the WI. They are THE BEST at what they do! Don't even consider looking at other venues because you won't find a harder working staff, a more beautiful venue, and the care that a family member would put into making your wedding day this fantastic! read more

The Winfield Inn is a beautiful venue and we were really excited to get married there. The grounds are stunning and we were very happy with the look of everything at our wedding. The day went smoothly and was truly amazing. The wedding planners, April and Robyn are wonderful and very helpful. However, the lead up to our wedding was really stressful. There are a lot of rules at the Winfield and it did not feel like they were particularly flexible about many of them. There were many times when it felt things were more complicated than they needed to be. And...the billing system is not clear. Everything is listed in bulk prices and it was really hard to figure out how much things cost. It was extremely difficult to tell where the prices were changing or being increased. Overall, I have mixed feelings about our experiences with the Winfield. It is really sad and bitter sweet for me to write this! I mean, our wedding was wonderful, but the stress and financial strain and rules were not something we bargained for. read more

The Winfield Inn is a dream of a venue with beautiful, mature trees and a lovely historical home. This was the first place we visited during the search for our wedding venue and we totally fell in love right away. We were helped by Maddie who sent information promptly upon my initial request and who coordinated our first visit. Leslie, the property owner, gave us a tour and what a blast we had visiting the space and learning more about it. The team was super accommodating of our needs including the fact that we wanted Brazilian cuisine incorporated in our wedding menu (they agreed to give it a try with my grandma's recipe of Coxinha!) as well as the fact that we were having a catholic mass which typically leads to a gap between mass and reception and they worked with us in figuring out how to best accommodate/entertain our guests during this period of time. I was very nervous to close the contract since I had been super head over heels for the place from early on, so we requested a meeting with Maddie after our first visit to go over all the details of the contract before making a decision and she answered our every question and worked with us on our special requests (fireworks, for example). We have also requested two additional visits to the space (one of them very last minute, in fact) and both times Leslie was welcoming and had us out there again to see the space and show it to our families as well. The team was super easy to work with during the entire process and easy to reach via phone or email before and after signing our contract. While we had a few personal things that led to us not having our wedding at the Winfield Inn after all, we would still recommend it no doubt, the venue is incredible with ample space for large parties, and the team is really what makes the experience different than what we saw elsewhere. My husband and I are so happy we chose The Winfield Inn for our wedding! We had searched about 5 other venues before we found the Winfield and we fell in love with it's charm as soon as we walked up towards the front door. We chose the Winfield for numerous reasons: 1. So much is included in the contract. They have a fabulous kitchen and cater on site. You can choose from a range of menus. We went with the Farm Fresh menu and guests were going back for seconds, it was so delicious. Perfect for our March wedding too. All necessities are included which lowered the cost for any rentals we amy have needed. Dishware, tables, chairs, glassware, bartender, servers, etc are all included and they even have options for you to choose from. All this saved us a lot of money compared to what other venues were charging for added services and rentals. 2. The girls on staff are so kind and helpful. They honestly are so excited to help you make your big day everything you are dreaming of. The team helps you as much as a paid wedding planner would. A special shout out to April and Laura who worked with us for most of our appointments, questions, and on our wedding day. Y'all made the entire planning process so easy for us, thank you! It was so fun to work with you ladies and you made us feel so special. 3. It's gorgeous! We were searching for an outdoor venue with that Hill Country look. The Inn house is absolutely beautiful and the inside decor transports you back in time with its charming vintage decor. The grounds are covered with magnificent live oak trees. The environment looks fabulous in photos as well. We held our ceremony underneath the "kissing trees" on the lawn. We were truly blessed with perfect weather that day, but just in case crazy Texas weather hits on your wedding day, there is a plan B to hold the ceremony underneath the stunning pavilion. Having this plan B was very important in our decision and eliminated any stress about the skies that day. The wedding day went so smoothly it was surreal. We had planned to hold our wedding at the Winfield Inn in April 2020. While we unfortunately had to cancel the event due to COVID, we worked with Leslie and Maddie for a year to plan what we are certain would have been a beautiful event, and they made it a wonderful experience from start to finish. The grounds are stunning, the catering (from our taste test with Word of Mouth) is absolutely delicious, pricing is incredibly reasonable, and the team is extremely professional and easy to work with. Most of all, we loved how unique the location was and how flexible and open Leslie was to all our suggestions. He could not have been more accommodating, creative and eager to personalize our event. Also, as out-of-towners, Leslie and Maddie's many years of experience and deep connection to the community made the wedding planning process smooth even from afar. We hope to return for an anniversary party some day, because it is truly a special location. read more

Oh, the internet. How very full of ideas you are. And when you're planning a wedding...how very overwhelming in options you can be! The Winfield Inn was it for us. Sure, they have a beautiful old house to get ready in, stay the night in, and otherwise hang out in...but so do some other places. Sure, they have actual trees on the property. Sure, they have a pavillion for your "run indoors last minute, it's raining on your guests!" needs. Don't get me wrong - those things are all really wonderful and beautiful. We were sold on one thing - their service. They will email you back at 8pm. They will remind you six times that they still need that alcohol list from you, and they're nice about it every single time. They do the catering on site (one less vendor to vet and book!) and when you have your sampling dinner - they cook the exact food you're doing to be serving (some other places will cook you an example of what they cook, but not necessarily what you want at your wedding.) They are flexible on meeting times (weekend morning, holiday afternoons) for those of us that can't take time out of our lives to meet only between 11am and 4pm on a Monday-Wednesday. These folks know what they're doing, they do it with poise, and they make you feel actually special. They actually seem to care. Oh, and: Their food is delicious - and we're both picky on food quality. Their on-site coordinators are great - April or Robyn or Jacki. The owner stays in the loop so you know you have quality control going on (not that April or Robyn or Jacki need any.) They have checklists for you. They have suggestions for you if you want them, and love your ideas if you don't need suggestions. They run your rehearsal for you and wrangle your people for you so you can actually enjoy being there. Do it. read more

We can't say enough wonderful things about The Winfield Inn. Everyone we came in contact with throughout the process were helpful and sincere. Their customer service is impeccable. They are very responsive, and there is always service with a smile. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The home is a wonderful place to get ready at as well as stay in the evening before or of the wedding. The food is delicious...with so many options. It is truly a one-stop shop and very little additional decor(ations) are needed. One of the primary differentiators is the ability to bring in your own alcohol, which we felt reduced the cost tremendously of the event when comparing to other venues. Our other vendors like working with/at The Winfield Inn, so I think that also is a great testimony to the venue and staff. All of our guests keep saying "We don't think it could have gone any better!" Robyn was our coordinator, but we had contact with everyone over the process, and again, nothing but positive feedback. I never knew Robyn was there the entire evening, but that's because she made sure everything ran so smoothly the entire everning so I didn't need to find her! I have a cute little video of Robyn holding my niece's hand walking down the aisle and Robyn guided her perfectly and then let her go just at the right time for a flawless transition (my niece could not get enough of Robyn!). read more

I could not be more pleased with the excellent service that Winfield Inn gave us recently on our son's rental items for his wedding at another venue. They provided all china, all glassware, some linens and a few smaller tables. The Winfield Inn offered everything that we needed for our big day. We booked our date in 20 months before and they walked us through the entire planning process. Food: I knew that I wanted to have peach waffles and bacon on my wedding day and the staff never hesitated to make that come true. They put together an amazing breakfast for dinner menu that I wish I could eat every day. 2 months before our big day, The Winfield Inn invited us up for a date night to taste our menu and ensure that it was what we wanted. It was such a nice, relaxing evening which allowed us to taste all the amazing food we planned for our guests. Planning: The wedding planners at the Winfield Inn took care of every detail of the set up and order of the day. They took care of the linens, plates, chairs, and all the other small details. When we arrived before the wedding day with the small decorations, our planner set them out and made the ceremony and reception areas look beautiful. The Winfield Inn is a gorgeous property to host a wedding. When you first walk through the arch way, you see this beautiful white house surrounded by many large oak trees. The house has a huge southern porch (great photo spot) and a sun room on the second floor (best spot for bridal party to get ready and watch vendors and guest arrive). The house is decorated with a variety of colors and vintage furniture to make the place feel cozy. When we first did the tour, the bridal suite sold me. Besides the bedroom and bathroom, there is another room with natural lighting and a great view of the property. This is perfect to get your hair and makeup done. It feels so chic and girly. There is the wrap around porch that makes it feel so elegant. Outside of the house, the property has many oak trees that provide plenty of shade. The staff takes great pride in the landscaping, the grass was always green and plants/flowers were tended. There are a few different spots to chose where you want to hold the ceremony-we chose the gazebo. It was perfect, it had a brick aisle (so you didn't have to worry about walking in grass). There was a perfectly place chandelier in the tree which makes for a great photo walking down the aisle. The gazebo has a few steps which made it easier for our guests to see us during the wedding. The cocktail hour was spread across the property which allowed guests to explore all of the nooks and crannies. The reception was held in the garden ball room. Although it's technically a pavilion, it is painted white to give a classy and elegant look. They have giant chandeliers which give it character. This place looks perfect on it's own or will lend itself to any decorations. We had more than enough space for 100 guests on 17 tables, the DJ, caterers, bar, cake table, guest book table, and a large dance floor. What made our wedding so special was the staff. Meg was our primary contact person, but every staff person knew our names and wedding and could help us if needed. Meg always had a smile on her face and was genuinely excited for our wedding. When we first started to plan the wedding, I lived 5 hours away from the venue. She was so professional and responded to emails within 24 hours and made sure to answer all of my questions. She was so accommodating and allowed us to make decisions, but gave us suggestions when we were stuck. Although I'm sure she had many other brides to plan for, she always made me feel like her only client. When we had an issue with one of our vendors 1 week before the wedding, I called in Inn and Laura answered. She was able to calm me down and handle the situation. There were a few interns there that were great at helping set up and take down the decorations and be my support system on the big day. The staff kept me updated on the wedding day with which vendors had arrived, the timeline, and checking in to make sure I was happy and stress free. As crazy as the wedding day was, they remembered all of the little details, like packing our bags before the end of the night and packing us a plate of food and cake to enjoy once we got to the hotel. I cannot recommend this venue enough. The property offers gorgeous areas that can fit any theme wedding (Ours was a bright, colorful, Hindu themed wedding). Our review is twofold: one for the Winfield Inn as a venue and one for its amazing coordinators, Laura and Bre. The overall atmosphere of the Winfield Inn is what sold us on booking it for our wedding venue. The grounds are stunning and offer versatility in where to have the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception set up. Additionally, getting ready in the bridal suite and groom's quarters was a HUGE added bonus for us. Plus, our first look photos taken on the breathtaking upstairs patio overlooking the grounds was more than anything we could have asked for. Laura and Bre made the entire wedding planning process utterly painless. They answered our (MANY) emails from the moment we booked the Winfield Inn up until the day before the wedding. Laura and Bre were fantastic at listening to our ideas and requests, accommodating them to the best of their abilities, and offering feedback and suggestions to things they thought might be more feasible. They truly helped us transform our vision into a beautiful reality. During our ceremony there was an unexpected rainshower and Laura and Bre were able to adapt to the situation and transition our guests into a seamless, on-the-spot rain plan. We chose to utilize their expertise for our rehearsal and day of coordination and we were not disappointed. From start to finish our event was flawless and stress free. I was the maid of honor in a wedding at the Winfield Inn. The bride lived out of state so I spent a lot of time assisting her in planning. The Winfield Inn was beautiful but beware of their unwritten, invented-on-the spot rules. The bride and groom selected the Winfield, in part, because it is BYOB. They had a full, very up-scale bar at their wedding and they knew avoiding the venue up charge on liquor would save them some money. The Winfield's only rule on alcohol (and everything else) is that they approve the alcohol list, which was to be submitted less than a month before the wedding. When the bride and groom submitted the list, the Winfield balked and told them they could only have enough alcohol on hand to serve 4 drinks per person. This rule is not written anywhere. And regardless of whether you think 4 drinks per person is a reasonable limit for consumption, anyone who has had a wedding at a BYOB venue (me) knows, you have to buy more alcohol than you will actually need because you have no idea what people will order. After much drama and heated conversations the Winfield finally relented and allowed the bride and groom to bring a larger supply. Problem solved. Or so we thought, until we found out from multiple guests that the bartenders were telling people they were out of alcohol. My husband, who hadn't reached his four drink limit, was told the bar was out of vodka. Yet the bride walked away from the wedding with a number of full bottles. This wedding was not some 21 year free-for-all. The majority of the guests (and the bride and groom) were late 20s and older. In addition, the bride and groom provided bus service from the Winfield so that everyone had a designated driver. There is no excuse for the Winfield's behavior. My wedding was at the Salt Lick Pavilion, which is also BYOB and I had none of these problems. Final disgraces: 1. The regular bartender asked several guests if they wanted an Osama Bin Laden drink (this was 1 week after he was killed) which he described as 2 shots and a splash of water. 2. The bartenders put out a tip jar without asking AFTER being paid a mandatory gratuity. TACKY. read more

i just got married at the winfield last weekend, and don't want to wait another minute to write a review to say how fantastic this place is -- and the ladies who work there are just TOO wonderful to be described!! my fiance' and i looked around for a location near austin that was big enough for our large wedding. we compared the winfield to several other local places and eventually narrowed it down to the winfield and one other. we called both to understand the pricing, and the winfield was HALF THE COST of the other, just because everything's included in your quoted price -- no add-on fees for serving alcohol, having a dance floor, etc. we couldn't believe the difference!! and since i lived out of town at the time, i sent my fiance' over to check out the place in person. he LOVED it, and was so impressed with april and her team that he booked it on the spot. we were SO excited to see that it is truly as lovely and magical in person as it appeared online!! now, let me just say -- april and her team are amazing. morgan was our lead intern the night of our wedding, and in addition to having april and morgan on point the whole time, they also had 2 interns and another coordinator there to help manage everything during the wedding. we felt in SUCH good hands on the day -- they took wonderful care of us. my now-husband noted that every time he turned around, one of the winfield girls was nearby, making sure we knew next steps as needed, so that everything ran perfectly smoothly. but in addition to how fabulous they are managing the day of the wedding -- they ALSO are fantastic resources for EVERYTHING you'd EVER want to know about planning a wedding!! they can recommend a vendor for anything you'd ever want, and they have an answer or suggestion for any question you ask. . . and believe me, we had PLENTY of questions during the year leading up to our wedding! they were patient, responsive, and truly godsends. we love the winfield!!!! read more

Can't brag about this venue or the staff enough. If you are looking for an outdoor wedding in the San Antonio/Austin area. Look no further. Stunningly beautiful grounds; romantic and whimsical mansion; and the kindest most professional staff you will ever meet! They do require that their caterer be used, but it is absolutely worth it! We had the most wonderful and stress free October wedding at The Winfield! Robyn was absolutely amazing and took care of all of the last minute details while my groom and I were getting ready. The venue location is absolutely stunning and my guests were very impressed with the grounds and the reception area. I can't say enough about how much stress it took off of me to have so much included with the venue price (tables, chairs, linens, dishes, food, service men and woman, bartender, all of it) and to have Robyn by my side all day intercepting friends and family with issues. Let me just say, The Winfield Inn is absolutely beautiful, and we had a great time at our wedding. Here's my only complaint about the Winfield Inn: I got married 5/24/15 during some of the flooding that was happening in the surrounding area (the Winfield Inn is not near any rivers or lakes) . The day ended up being sunny with no rain. The county had issued a 9pm curfew. My dad had spoken to the Sheriff's office, and they said because the wedding was a private event, we were not subject to the curfew. Then, while we were getting ready, the coordinator told us that our wedding would have to end two hours early because the owner wanted to go along with curfew. Well, ok.. It was very disappointing considering there was not any major flooding in the area that day (most of the flooding happened the following days), but I guess I can't fault him on that. However, my family and I didn't feel like the amount of money we were refunded was adequate considering we missed out on a third of the time we had paid for. It basically covered the cake and cake cutting (which I don't even think happened since it ended so early). For instance, my mom had requested/paid for coffee to be served towards the end of the reception, and there wasn't really time, but we weren't refunded for it. There were a few other thing: They said they would make us our own tier to go home with to freeze for our one-year anniversary, but all we got were to slices of cake in a to-go box. Also, our package came with a dinner for two where they serve you the food you picked out for your wedding. No one contacted us to schedule that, and I forgot it was included because no one called to ask when we wanted that, etc. All and all, I thought the Winfield in would have been a better value. read more

We used this venue for our daughter's wedding. First the coordinators were GREAT. They were there every step of the way. They didn't hold back on ways we could save money. My daughter's visions came to life.The filet medallions were unbelievable and melted in your mouth. Unfortunately, the venue flooded out the weekend before so there was a short in the outdoor lights lighting the path to the restroom. Even after the wedding they were so helpful. Overall excellent experience, beautiful venue and excellent staff and service. read more

We had our wedding at The Winfield Inn Memorial Day weekend and it was perfect. The house, lawn and pavilion are absolutely beautiful. In fact, we chose to not include many of the decorations we had made or purchased because the surroundings were picture perfect. I highly recommend getting married at the gazebo since it gives the feeling somewhat more formal and the stone walkway makes it easy on the ladies in heels. We were worried at first because two of our coordinators had left their positions in the months leading up to the wedding however our coordinator Myra came in to the rescue and I could not imagine having a better coordinator the day of the wedding. At one point in the night, the electricity went out in the pavilion (massive thunderstorm) however the back up generators turned within seconds and it was actually fun. They take really good care of their couples and I would not have thought of a better place for our wedding. read more
