Even though it was 70% off and lots of inventory, I would not recommend this store and am disgusted at the abysmal service.

Finding these items, especially on clearance, is a bit of a dig. It's decently well organized, but the clearance section is definitely a bit of the wild, wild west. Lots of things in this store are the very last one, so if you see something you love but need a different size you're probably out of luck. Definitely worth a stop in if you're in the area.

While still looking, the same rude worker came over to me, took the bag out of my hand and gave me a different one. Only until I said "there was no other bag there so I took this one" then did she explain why she did that. She said I couldn't have the display despite there being no additional bag to take instead. When I checked out, she was the one to ring me up. I had my birthday coupon so I showed it to her, then she questioned me if it was my birthday, I said yes that's why I have the coupon. It was uncomfortable. She was also very rude to a customer trying to buy suitcases. When I left the outlet about 2 hours later, she was behind me exiting the parking lot, and she honked at me as soon as the parking lot light changed. This was the rudest experience I've had. Her name I believe was Jen. I but a new backpack/lunchbox every 1-2 years (all my duffel travel bags are VB as well) and it was such an off putting experience. Jen was such a rude, non-personable, and disrespectful employee.

I headed straight to my favorite area--clearance--and saw a big sign: "30% off sticker price." The familiar blue, yellow, red, etc stickers were on the boxes, but the discount charts were GONE. I asked a lovely, charming young associate if the 30% was in addition to the color sticker discount, and she said, "No, the colors don't mean anything. It's just 30% off whatever it says." Well. This was a new, horrible, terrible, NO GOOD, and UNWELCOME change. I am thoroughly disgusted and UNHAPPY. Gone is the thrill of finding amazing shoes or boots or sneakers at 50-60% off. It sucked when they dropped the yellow tags from 80% off to 70% off, then to 60% off, but that still felt okay. Having everything only 30% off is pathetic. I have, on a quite a few occasions, bought 5-6 pairs of shoes of boots, mainly because the quality and prices were irresistible. I WOULD have bought a pair of Lucky Brand boots, a pair of Sorels, and a pair of Sperry Topsiders, if the prices were based on the color tags, but I left them all there. 30% off across the board just doesn't make the cut. I did buy a pair of black leather penny loafers, but only because I don't have a pair and will use them. I wasn't really happy, though. Then I got to the register, and a VERY nice, very patient man managed to find the 20% off coupon on my phone :D So I got 30% off, then 20% off, which took nearly $40 off the sticker price. Debated getting the boots, but decided against them. So, in summary, it appears that I can no longer be a shoe fiend, since my habit is dependent on good pricing. I only wear all-leather shoes, which are only produced by a few makers, and expensive. I will NOT wear manmade shoes or boots. Ah well. Good thing that I do take very good care of my shoes and boots. They're going to have to last, because DSW has failed me. I'm a strong proponent of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." DSW messed with a long and wonderful pricing strategy. Dumb, IMO. Get an ugly sweater for our upcoming party. Not only did they have a plethora of sweaters, they came to play with a whole bunch of assorted holiday apparel. And was it expensive? No, not at all. There was a sale on the holiday apparel, as well as an extra 25% off if your rewards member. Pro tip: you do not have to be a credit card holder to be a rewards member. Now all you have to do is put your phone number in after you quickly register for free and you get the perks. Gone on the days when we used to have a store credit card for these things. Also, I felt like such an old lady at the checkout. Now, this location has self service checkout kiosks. And even though I thought I was smart enough to use one I kept on beeping because the security tag was still on my ugly sweater. Staff came over to help and they did not make me feel dumb about it at all. They also explained to me how to properly use the kiosk as I was completely doing it wrong. And for the holiday season, it wasn't too packed. The stores kept nice. There was so much stuff that I really kinda wanted to go back and shop for myself .
