Reminded me of a Payless setup with shoes that you would find more so in say a Marshalls, or TJMaxx shoe area with some kniwn name brands. Sadly I needed to get a replacement pair of flats for the train hopping. They did have quite the selection, but note the smaller sizes go fast. So only able to pick up just 1 black pair, vs brown & black. Pricing is fair/equvilant to where you'd see elsewhere for an affordable flat. The store shoe clerk was very helpful from beginning to end. Asked nicely what I was looking for, showed me the way. Staged to help find my selected style and size, even checked me out. So easy as could be. If they had my 6's in all colors and styles then maybe they would have gotten that last star. Till the next time when in the neighborhood.

Just a teeny bit shy of the 5' mark, finding jeans is always a huge pain in the butt - but finding shoes and boots in my size is the bane of my existence. For the last several years, I have been on the hunt for a pair of knee high boots that come in my midget foot size (5-5.5, or a kid's 3-4) and actually come up to my knee, not four inches or more past. You see, the world wasn't made for us vertically challenged folk. When I have managed to find my small size in a boot, they have come way past my knee and I look like a little kid playing dress-up, or worse yet - like puss-in-boots, and I am about to go fence some scoundrel. Apparently small-footed individuals are also of Amazonian height. Lo and behold, Steve Madden. I saw a pair of shoes on their website, and called the store to see if they had them in my size in stock. As luck would have it, there was one lone pair, and it was soon to be mine. The man on the phone, Matt, was super nice and pleasant, and answered all of my questions, and was able to hold them for me until I could come to the store later that night. I dragged my friend out in the rain (I'm a girl, I need the friend fashion approval and the boy was all, um please take your friend because, yeah, I'm a boy, they're boots, I'm sure they're nice, yada yada yada). Matt was super nice and super friendly in person as was the other guy working there that night (Rohan). They brought out my boots and they were FABULOUS. They are delicious and beautiful and all mine - and the first knee-high boots I have ever worn/owned in my life. When you'e used to buying kid shoes that hit mid-calf, this is a great achievement and a boot victory. Sadly, they are for X-mas and since I was helping Santa play elf this year I will just have to wait - but it's worth it. They offered advice on how to care for it and all that good stuff, and the store was matching the web sale (20-25% off) which was just an added bonus. Since my friend was drooling over another pair of boots, I get her a pair as well that she loves - but she too will have to wait until Old King Cole comes on down that chimney. A+ for customer service on the phone and in store, and A+ for making good quality boots that are spunky and fun, and come in sizes to fit all needs.

The two first met in Pittsfield, Maine, 1985 SAS opened a factory in Del Rio, Texas and are still making their quality footwear. My wife for years has said the only shoe she'd walk 15 miles in EPCOT would be her SAS sandals. I always thought SAS were simple styled shoes for the medical industry, people who are on their feet all day. Nurses and Doctors wearing plain black shoes in comfort. I want fun shoes! Anyhoo, I burned out my Fila sneakers on this last Disney trip. I want something fun, yet adult appropriate and comfortable. My wife took me to SAS Shoemakers in Tanger Mall. I saw a cool looking pair of sandals, cammo no less?! I saw the price and got a little wobbly, SAS Shoemakers aren't selling cheap shoes. I do have a pair of birkenstock sandals that I bought 15 years ago, etc.. I tried on the SAS Shoemakers sandals and wanna know something? OMG, they rock!
