I got 2 pair I also got a super cute graphic Tee, a sports bra and 2 tank tops. All of that for $120 and I had a 30% off coupon - Double Score!!! Bottom Line: You want a clean, well kept store? Go to a high end store and spend $30 on your tee shirts and the dressing room will be nice and the attendants will be attentive. I found it on clearance and there was only one because if there were more they would have came home with me. I also bought a gray/white stripped shirt ( $5) but when I wore it the next day my sister saw it and decided she really liked it, so I gave it to her. The last thing I purchased that day was a really soft gray long sleeve v-neck light sweater. Also found it on clearance for around 8 dollars. This gap always makes me happy.

This was especially daunting since we chose a non-traditional suit combo (Perry Ellis Navy Blazer, Tan Pants) that they just began offering. I was appreciative that Joe was up for the challenge. He took me through the process and explained the importance of having the guys provide the most accurate measurements possible, so we wouldn't have to worry about a potential disaster when they eventually came in. And since I never got to see the swatches for the tie/pocket squares in person, he took the time to hold the up to the blazer, etc over the phone. He tells me that I must pay for it before leaving and suggests taking off the tux, going back to the hotel and coming back to the shop a third time! Insanity! The best part after I give him the credit card number, he won't run it telling me that I need to "caaaaaalm dooooowwn..." in a little sing sing patronizing voice. Frustrated, I walked out telling him that I am not going to play his game. He follows me outside and proceeds to write down my license plate as some kind of pseudo-threat. As if the police were going to drag me out of the church for theft of service? Imbecile. This jerk single handedly through his poor execution and embarassing customer service saw that I would be excluded from all of my sister's wedding photo shoot. Thanks a bunch! Additionally, when sharing this story with the groomsmen, they all had similar run-ins with the guy. They also told me a story about how they witnessed him purposely not unlock the door at 11:58 while he puttered around the shop as another wedding party stood waiting outside. The place is right next door to a Chinese food restaurant so we had the pleasure of having our tuxes smell like roast pork egg rolls and Peking duck. My advice: If you want a rude, nasty, unhelpful and disrespectful person to perhaps anger you on a very importnant day, then this is the place for you. (Also, take note of their hours. They are very rarely open. I'm not sure if the place is a part time job for the owners, but for anyone who, you know... works, the hours are very troublesome.)

Donna Karan is the designer/owner. As expected, Urban Zen had very interesting, unusual and overpriced clothing. But ok, I'm a North Shore of Long Island kinda gal...I get it. I'm prepared for the 'tude'. I tried on a dress which I loved. My husband said, 'I think you need an XS.' This was a small. So I asked Joana, the statuesque, fashionable grey/silver haired, middle aged sales person (I'm 68 years old, btw) for an XS. She didn't acknowledge me until it looked like I was not going to buy this $895.00 dress and $295.00 shawl. She then said 'the other store 'in So-Ho' might have it. I'll check.' She went into the back and pretended to call the NYC store. She came out and said 'they have it.' I said, 'Ok, I'll buy it now and pick it up next wk. Please ask them to hold it.' By this time she had 2 other customers looking at some exorbitantly expensive jewelry. Joana's interest in me and my purchase was waning. Nevertheless, I liked the dress and gave her my credit card. She couldn't produce a paper receipt, but ok, after all, it is 2024, so I said an email is fine. When the receipt did not show up on my phone, she said, 'don't worry, it will', and proceeded to assist the other customers. Now, I think I have earned the right to 'worry'. I just paid $1295.00 and have no proof.. I asked her to text it. She said she would. She looked at me as if I were a psychiatric patient because I was waiting for the receipt. I said, 'I'll wait. Please do it now.' She recited my phone # (incorrectly). I repeated it. She reluctantly texted it. Looking at the hip, cool website I discovered the NYC store (in the West Village...NOT So-Ho) had limited hours and no phone number. So, I went to get the dress today. Surprise, Surprise. No XS!!!! Emily, the NYC salesperson, said she just looked and saw there was an email from 3 days ago. Nothing about holding the XS. Joana really did NOT call to inquire about the XS? I wasn't surprised.. Emily diligently tried to find something else for me. By this time, 'the thrill was gone'. I just wanted a refund. This was not a problem for Emily. Somehow, she understood that when things are purchased and/or returned a receipt is customary. No more Urban Zen for me!!
