I was in for the first time last month and had an extremely positive experience. When I walked in the owner was helping another customer by suggesting and pointing out some really cute sweaters that she, the owner, thought would look great on this customer. It was fun watching this interaction as I browsed the racks. The customer looked right out of a European fashion magazine as she tried the sweaters on right out on the sales floor. My immediate impression was that the sales gal (later I learned it is her shop) really knew her stuff. Yes, her approach was pretty low-key, but frankly I prefer that to being pestered by sales staff in small shops. And I think her low-key approach may very well be intentional on her part for the very reason that overly aggressively sales staff in boutiques can be a real turn off and keep people from coming in off the sidewalk. I walked out with some fabulous items. I went in with one particular item in mind and with her help put together a great ensemble. She brought me all kinds of things to try on and was pretty candid about which things she thought worked and which didn't. I honestly have a hard time believing that these negative reviews are for the same shop. I'm headed in again soon. If my experience changes for the worse I will be certain to post.
