Our tour guide, Stan, gave an interesting & informative presentation of the island's history and qualities. He's lived on the island from childhood & brings many personal insights of the island and its inhabitants. Stan's the Man! Dee-Dee of HomeGrown Tours was superbly helpful when she contacted us about a need to reschedule our tour for earlier in the day. She asked how we were getting to the island and shared a much better way to get to Oak Bluffs. Very glad she went the extra effort to make our trip more enjoyable. Among the stops on the tour were Menemsha where we enjoyed seafood soup samples & had seafood sandwiches from Menemsha Fish Market. The stop at Aqinnah (Gay Head) Cliffs was stunning with the views of the ocean, beaches below, multicoloured cliffs, and a lighthouse. Another memorable stop was at Orange Peel Bakery. Oh, what trip on Martha's Vineyard wouldn't mention Jaws filming sites. Stan pointed out several of the key locations, including "the Jaws Bridge", providing back stories about the filming. I highly recommend HomeGrown Tours.

I made a few phone calls and Deedee arranged to meet us for an afternoon tour. She is a very enthusiastic MV host. We got a fun tour of things you would expect and some you would not. The narration, history and stories of local life were non-stop. We had a great time. She really is a pleasure to work with and saved the day for us. Give Deedee a call if you are planning a trip to MVI.

Walking through the front door feels less like checking into a hotel and more like arriving at your own beautiful home in the heart of Edgartown. We were welcomed by the warm, attentive staff with delicious homemade baked goods and refreshing fresh lemonade, immediately making us feel at home. The rooms are beautifully designed, blending timeless New England charm with elegant, whimsical touches. Our room was incredibly spacious and thoughtfully appointed, complete with a charming kitchenette that made it feel as though we had the house all to ourselves. My dog is like my child, so he travels everywhere with me, and I especially appreciated how pet-friendly the Hob Knob is. The adorable dog-themed lamps added a fun touch, and my pup was thrilled to find Milk-Bones waiting for him in the room. Every detail reflected genuine thought and care, from the luxurious Frette linens to the Molton Brown toiletries. Nothing felt overlooked. The location is perfect--just a short walk to all the wonderful shops, restaurants, and charm of Main Street in Edgartown. At the same time, having an on-site parking lot made it easy to explore the rest of Martha's Vineyard by car. Breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious, and by the end of our stay, we found ourselves wishing we had booked a few more nights. The Hob Knob offers the perfect combination of luxury, comfort, and hospitality, and I can't wait to return.
