He regaled us with 38 years of experiences as we made our way to and from the cliffs of Aquinnah (Go. It's beautiful and reminds us of the majesty of nature.) We asked all our questions, got every question answered and laughed and sang with Craig on the way back. The last time I was here, I did the African American history group tour, and it was pretty good. This tour was better because it was a private tour. I will give him credit too, because we encountered a lot of bad drivers and he kept his composure, when I probably wouldn't have. The tour is nice, but not something I can give 5 stars to. Mileage may vary, but for me this was more a 'B' tour if we were using school grades.

Here is the review: "Tour was just okay. We didn't stop at things people clearly wanted to stop at and there was a lot that no one cared about. The driver (my wife said his name was Richard) was anxious to get through the tour because there was so much to see in 3 hours... I'm like, okay then let's stop at the stuff people want to take pics of and blow off the rest of this crap. He also zoomed by and barely slowed down long enough to take a photo of something other than the back of the hand of the person sitting in front of you... the hand that was still there because they didn't have time to take a pic either. The driver also talked about Obama and Clinton the ENTIRE tour. I lost count at 8 stories. (This is not an exaggeration.) (Owner denied this could be true... ask anyone else who was on this tour... and I'm sure he uses these stories consistently.) I'm not a staunch anti-dem, but this was simply ridiculous. As a business owner, I understand the importance of treating customers with respect. After purchasing coffee and an açaí bowl inside with my wife and 2-year-old daughter, a heavy rainstorm began. Not wanting them to get drenched, I pulled into the side parking lot to pick them up. As I did, the owner--wearing a sour expression--shooed me away as if I were an animal. I asked if I could help him with something, and he (Scott Dario) told me he was the property owner and that I could not park there. I explained that I would be less than 30 seconds, just long enough to safely get my daughter into her car seat. Despite the fact that it was downpouring and I was clearly soaking wet, he aggressively demanded that I leave immediately. He( Scott Dario ) then followed me around the vehicle and continued to escalate the situation. I calmly informed him that I would not leave without my wife and child. He responded by threatening to call the police on me for trespassing. While I loaded the stroller into the car and helped my wife buckle in our daughter, he brought over a friend and they both continued to harass and mock me in front of my family--calling me a "cool guy," saying I should be embarrassed, and even stating, "Good thing your daughter isn't old enough to realize what a jerk you are." He also remarked that he felt bad for my daughter for having a father like me. This was an incredibly disrespectful and humiliating experience. I've been coming here for over 20 years, since I was a child, and had looked forward to continuing that tradition with my own family. I've never been treated so poorly anywhere, let alone by someone claiming to be a business owner. To future customers: be aware that if you pull into the side lot--even momentarily to pick up your family during a rainstorm--you may be confronted, threatened, and publicly shamed by the owner and his friend, as I was, while others are allowed to do the same without issue. Their behavior was not only uncalled for but completely out of line. These individuals should be ashamed of how they treat people. I cannot in good faith recommend anyone support this business. May God help them--they truly need a change of heart.

Our tour guide, Stan, gave an interesting & informative presentation of the island's history and qualities. He's lived on the island from childhood & brings many personal insights of the island and its inhabitants. Stan's the Man! Dee-Dee of HomeGrown Tours was superbly helpful when she contacted us about a need to reschedule our tour for earlier in the day. She asked how we were getting to the island and shared a much better way to get to Oak Bluffs. Very glad she went the extra effort to make our trip more enjoyable. Among the stops on the tour were Menemsha where we enjoyed seafood soup samples & had seafood sandwiches from Menemsha Fish Market. The stop at Aqinnah (Gay Head) Cliffs was stunning with the views of the ocean, beaches below, multicoloured cliffs, and a lighthouse. Another memorable stop was at Orange Peel Bakery. Oh, what trip on Martha's Vineyard wouldn't mention Jaws filming sites. Stan pointed out several of the key locations, including "the Jaws Bridge", providing back stories about the filming. I made a few phone calls and Deedee arranged to meet us for an afternoon tour. She is a very enthusiastic MV host. We got a fun tour of things you would expect and some you would not. The first time their reply came so late so we called another day. The owner Ralf keeps referring to his wife but on a simple request as to if they could provide the transfer replied the following to my niece accusing her of being a scam. What kind of thinking do these people have? Minds in the gutter is all we could think. We thought we'd arm any good faith customers looking for a luxury transportation on the island that this is their level of thinking and way of treating (potential) customers.
