Amazing resort! If you have young kids this is the perfect vacation. There is a kids club from 9-12 and some night'a (could be all during season) they have an evening program for kids 5:30-9:30. The shuttle bus comes to pick them up right in front and adults can hop on a winnetu shuttle bus into town. The beach here is beautiful and pool is very relaxing. Can't recommend enough!

The Winnetu outdid itself and earned the extra star!! This is a very special resort. The staff is amazing - especially Tim Benoit and his partner Carlos. We contacted Tim several weeks before our arrival to confirm our reservations and spaces in the Kid's Club. He did a phenomenal job. Tim and Carlos also made some great local recommendations for us. When we arrived, everyone came out to greet us (by name). They were super friendly and remembered my girl's names. They gave us the same room that we had last year (very nice touch) and added a white noise machine!!! When we entered our super clean room, we were greeted with a box of chocolates from a local Chocolatier (which we didn't share!) along with a personalized note. The pools are heated and super clean. Plenty of water noodles and life vests for the kids. They also provide towel service. They also have s'mores a few nights a week - a great touch for the adults and kids. The resort also coordinated our travel to Nantucket. It was super easy and convenient. Needless to say, we will be coming back next year!!

Beautiful resort but the fun stops at 9pm. We stayed in a garden studio which was absolutely beautiful and in a great location at the Winnetu. We felt like we were in our own exclusive area! The room was very modern with a kitchenette, large bathroom, king bed and outdoor seating area. Also appreciated the comfy robes! All staff members were really friendly and helpful that we encountered. Breakfast is complimentary in the Dunes restaurant but gratuity is expected even though you serve yourself. They do bring you water so I guess that's why they expect tip? The resort is "quiet" after 9pm and getting around seems to be a challenge without a car. As someone who enjoys nightlife and exploring, this was a big downside to me! We didn't encounter any children while there; most likely because kids are back in school during October. Overall the resort was beautiful and accommodating, but best tailored for low key vacationing.

Sunset walk on South Beach (5 min walk from resort)

Visited Martha's Vineyard (Sept 19th - 22nd), with my wife and her family and we decided to stayed at the Winnetu Resort. We were concerned with covid, but the resort was very well prepared for guests. The resort is beautiful and staff were so friendly. We had a 2 bedroom suite that looked out toward the ocean...it was such an incredible time. Rooms were clean and nice, the grounds of the resort were great and goin to sleep hearing the waves crash was the best. Breakfast was included which was a plus (staff have buttons of their faces so guests can see what's behind the mask- great idea). We walked to south beach every morning for sunrise- only a 5 minute walk down the resort path. The pool was open and heated but it was a bit too cold for us outside to enjoy (maybe next time). They have a free shuttle to Edgartown--we didn't go on it but drove (short 5 min ride). Enjoy the sunrise and sunsets! We had a great time, felt safe (resort is covid-cautious) and the location was great! Looking forward to going back to the island in May and will definitely be staying at the Winnetu! If your visiting the Vineyard I HIGHLY recommend you all stay here if you want a clean peaceful place a stone-throw away from the beach!

Love this South Beach resort. Great for kids. The kids loved the morning camp from 9-12 and the evening activities. The staff is very professional. Our townhouse unit had everything we needed and additional amenities to make our stay wonderful. Martha's Vineyard is truly one of the most beautiful vacation spots and Winnetu is the place to stay!!

Awesome toiletries The room has a fridge The window AC unit worked well The room was spacious They have bar right next to the pool Cookies, Milk and tea from 5-9. Keurig in room In the mornings they have muffins and coffee in the lobby. Cons: Shower doesn't have a door it's hard to gauge the water No elevator We arrived via Lyft around 915pm. We were immediately greeted and checked in. They had just finished their milk and cookie hour, but the lady was nice enough to get me some cookies to snack on since we were starving. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but it's only three floors and the staff assisted with the bags The room was big and clean. The bed was comfortable. The toiletries were great. They lathered well and smelled great. The room didn't look dated like some of the reviews stated, but I think I read they had just been remodeled. I definitely recommend this hotel. Don't look anywhere else. Tip: There's a few liquor stores nearby if you're looking for inexpensive drinks There's a fast food sea food restaurant (Quarterdeck) right across the street from the bar that serves food late into the night

Me and my fiancé just had an intimate wedding in Edgartown. Our family and toddler stood at this hotel since our hotel did not allow kids. Never had I felt staff lack hospitality, common sense or courtesy like the staff at the Kelly House. One example, my dad (who is blind) had just checked out at 11 am and he left his bags at the lobby. At 12 noon he wanted to use a restroom was denied access since "he checked out". Was told to "find somewhere outside that has a bathroom". Never asked to help with luggage. Never opened doors. Never made eye contact or a hello, or a good morning. Continental breakfast normally consist of more than two items. In this case it was burnt coffee and some sweet muffin for which you have to ask for one by one. If your in a group of 4 or 5 and one person asks for a muffin don't you think you should ask if others from the group want any? So let's say you're an introvert who doesn't care about courtesy or a false advertised continental breakfast, or any form of hospitality. You just want a clean/nice place to sleep and leave. Well this place is not it. You have to tell the staff to clean. They only cleaned our room once during a 4 night stay.

I was a bit hesitant afterwards, as their location in Edgartown is several miles away from the ferry terminal. However, after our stay, this was not a concern. Edgartown is somewhat quieter and a bit less 'touristy' to me (though the town largely caters to tourists). One thing that drew me to this property also was the expense vs. ratings. Many other similarly (or lower) rated places were much more expensive. It is all relative on the island, but this, to me, was a good value. I was a bit apprehensive also about getting checked in, as our ferry reservations were such that we would barely arrive by their 5 p.m. front-office closing time. They confirmed that they could leave the key in an envelope for us, but that always seems slightly problematic. However, it all worked out and we did arrive at 5 p.m. The innkeeper was assisting other guests so our key was in an envelope anyway, but she showed up about 3 minutes later to ensure everything was fine and took time to explain anything extra about the room. The site is about 1 block from the edge of the town's commercial district, so walking anywhere in town is easy. Parking is not expansive, but you just need to park parallel to a fence adjacent to your room. This was never a difficulty while we were there. The area was quiet also; not much noise to disturb you. The room itself was well equipped. There was a small kitchenette and a dinette table, along with a sitting area (with a fold-out couch). When the couch was folded out, the room was a bit cramped (but that is when you're sleeping, mostly). The couch-bed involved an air mattress that was easy to inflate. The adjoining bedroom was also a bit small, but adequate. Everything was clean and appeared well-maintained. In all, the only limiting factor here was room-size, but I was also unwilling to pay $100 (or more) a night for more space. It was a slight compromise, but worth it. If I returned to the island, I'd consider staying here again.

Here are the three things I enjoyed most about this historic hotel: 1. Our room looked out to the Edgartown Lighthouse and the views were very peaceful no matter the time of day. It was also nice that we could easily walk over to the lighthouse and beach to get a closer view of the circa 1828 structure. The lighthouse wasn't open when we visited but we still enjoyed walking around it. 2. The hotel was within walking distance from the shops and restaurants in Edgartown. We enjoyed admiring all of the lovely homes along the way. The hotel was also within a very short walk to walking distance to the Carnegie Heritage Center and the Chappy Ferry. 3. I love American history and architecture so I enjoyed staying in this 100+ year old hotel that is fully renovated to offer modern amenities. I personally enjoyed walking up the original steep stairs, admiring the banisters and balusters and feeling the unevenness of a well settled hotel under foot. (But if that isn't your thing, don't worry, there is an elevator.) This hotel reminds me a lot of the quaint beachside hotel on the Seaside Hotel television series (aired on PBS in the US and originally Denmark's public service channel). We were fortunate to stay in a corner suite with many windows. We enjoyed the natural light during the day and we were thankful for turndown service at night to close all of those curtains! We also appreciated that there was several places to sit in our room to just relax. Since we were on MV during the shoulder season and it was unseasonably cool, the hotel was not very busy. We enjoyed the stillness of the building and chatting with the friendly staff daily. Since it was chilly when we visited a soak in a hot tub would have been nice. If the hotel has a hot tub we didn't see it but they were in process of getting the pool ready for the busy summer season. Overall, this was a very relaxing and luxurious stay.
