BEST. VALUE. ON. ISLAND. I have extremely high standards, and I'm a very picky hotel visitor. That said, I cannot say enough good things and give enough praise to this inn. I called two days before our visit and a very friendly and accommodating voice was able to book me a room last minute. My boyfriend and I stayed on a Friday night in June and checked out on Saturday. Upon arrival, we found our keys in a nicely labeled envelope right when we walked in. We stayed in #1 Gay Head Light Suite and were pleasantly surprised to walk in and find a kitchen, rocking chair, pull out couch, queen size bed and full bathroom with our own outdoor entrance! Wow! For $250.00, you usually can't find 1/10th of this on Martha's Vineyard. The room was EXTREMELY CLEAN and lovely. Everything was organized perfectly and a welcome letter with chocolates were on the bed upon our arrival. We slept like two little angels. So comfortable and quaint. The shower was great as well - warm, good water pressure and in the morning we helped ourselves to coffee and TV in the living room adjacent to our bedroom. This is going to be my go to place to stay every time I come back to the island. I've stayed at Harborview, Sydney, Christopher and a myriad of other fancy over priced hotels on this island and I have to say - this one is the BEST! The attention to detail from the cleaning staff to the innkeepers really shows and the kindness and pleasant attitude we were shown via phone and in person from the innkeepers also will keep us coming back every time. Take it from someone who has done a lot of traveling, is very picky, investigates bathrooms in hotel, and pays attention to every detail - this place is where you want to stay on island. Can't beat the value.

Awesome toiletries The room has a fridge The window AC unit worked well The room was spacious They have bar right next to the pool Cookies, Milk and tea from 5-9. Keurig in room In the mornings they have muffins and coffee in the lobby. Cons: Shower doesn't have a door it's hard to gauge the water No elevator We arrived via Lyft around 915pm. We were immediately greeted and checked in. They had just finished their milk and cookie hour, but the lady was nice enough to get me some cookies to snack on since we were starving. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but it's only three floors and the staff assisted with the bags The room was big and clean. The bed was comfortable. The toiletries were great. They lathered well and smelled great. The room didn't look dated like some of the reviews stated, but I think I read they had just been remodeled. I definitely recommend this hotel. Don't look anywhere else. Tip: There's a few liquor stores nearby if you're looking for inexpensive drinks There's a fast food sea food restaurant (Quarterdeck) right across the street from the bar that serves food late into the night

Me and my fiancé just had an intimate wedding in Edgartown. Our family and toddler stood at this hotel since our hotel did not allow kids. Never had I felt staff lack hospitality, common sense or courtesy like the staff at the Kelly House. One example, my dad (who is blind) had just checked out at 11 am and he left his bags at the lobby. At 12 noon he wanted to use a restroom was denied access since "he checked out". Was told to "find somewhere outside that has a bathroom". Never asked to help with luggage. Never opened doors. Never made eye contact or a hello, or a good morning. Continental breakfast normally consist of more than two items. In this case it was burnt coffee and some sweet muffin for which you have to ask for one by one. If your in a group of 4 or 5 and one person asks for a muffin don't you think you should ask if others from the group want any? So let's say you're an introvert who doesn't care about courtesy or a false advertised continental breakfast, or any form of hospitality. You just want a clean/nice place to sleep and leave. Well this place is not it. You have to tell the staff to clean. They only cleaned our room once during a 4 night stay.

Great espresso martini! and the shark attack drink? iconic! They put red wine inside the shark, and then the shark over the drink to look like blood. you even get to take home the shark. unless they were giving us pretty privilege we sat on the porch and had a beautiful view of the water/lighthouse!!

Here are the three things I enjoyed most about this historic hotel: 1. Our room looked out to the Edgartown Lighthouse and the views were very peaceful no matter the time of day. It was also nice that we could easily walk over to the lighthouse and beach to get a closer view of the circa 1828 structure. The lighthouse wasn't open when we visited but we still enjoyed walking around it. 2. The hotel was within walking distance from the shops and restaurants in Edgartown. We enjoyed admiring all of the lovely homes along the way. The hotel was also within a very short walk to walking distance to the Carnegie Heritage Center and the Chappy Ferry. 3. I love American history and architecture so I enjoyed staying in this 100+ year old hotel that is fully renovated to offer modern amenities. I personally enjoyed walking up the original steep stairs, admiring the banisters and balusters and feeling the unevenness of a well settled hotel under foot. (But if that isn't your thing, don't worry, there is an elevator.) This hotel reminds me a lot of the quaint beachside hotel on the Seaside Hotel television series (aired on PBS in the US and originally Denmark's public service channel). We were fortunate to stay in a corner suite with many windows. We enjoyed the natural light during the day and we were thankful for turndown service at night to close all of those curtains! We also appreciated that there was several places to sit in our room to just relax. Since we were on MV during the shoulder season and it was unseasonably cool, the hotel was not very busy. We enjoyed the stillness of the building and chatting with the friendly staff daily. Since it was chilly when we visited a soak in a hot tub would have been nice. If the hotel has a hot tub we didn't see it but they were in process of getting the pool ready for the busy summer season. Overall, this was a very relaxing and luxurious stay.
