The Hungry Detective was so excited to investigate this location and thrilled to be the first one to review as well on this platform... Just let me start by saying that Vinea replaced Sermet's an old Daniel Island fine dining staple that I was quite fond of, but I must say Vinea has exceeded all of my expectations when it comes to fine dining on Daniel Island!!! I sat at the bar and Sara was so attentive and wonderful...she makes the best Manhattan and knows her stuff and a true rock star!!! We were greeted by Kelly the owner and such a gem. ATMOSPHERE: The first thing I noticed that there are hints of Sermet as you see art masterpieces adorn the walls and the courtyard is open and filled with customers. CUISINE: The new menu is a breath of fresh air, along with daily specials (e.g. Weiner Schnitzel, gnocchi and other fine options) ...I went with the pork stroganoff after Sara helped with my dilemma between the braised short ribs and was incredible tasting...the plate was clean and that never happens...it was that good...simple but elegant!!! My deputy had the Salmon over risotto and it was over the top and cooked to perfection!!! DESSERT: So many great options but I chose an all home made by in house German Pastry chef the layered berry cake...to go and let me say this...I had to stop and take a bite...better than SEX!!! VERDICT: Nick and Kelly were both on site and have hit it out of the park with this new dining spot and doing everything to perfection and in the right way...I can only see good things happening in the future. They're truly guilty as sin for creating an awesome dining experience... I cannot wait to return in the fall.

Went for the first time tonight with friends, and our server Amy was incredible! She was attentive, friendly, and gave perfect recommendations from the menu. Everything was delicious. Thanks for the great service, Amy & Team -- we'll definitely be back!

Great atmosphere, service, everybody loved their entree. Our waiter Dante was super. Keith Miller on the guitar was masterful. Perfect!

Basic, over salted and over cooked meal with no flavor. A complete miss. Not going back again.

I had the pork stroganoff and it was a dish unique to this place and had lots of flavor with the fresh pasta!

First start off with the Hefe-Weizen beer. They serve it in a nice chilled glass and a great way to start the next enjoyable 1+ hours of tastebuds delight! The pretzel is a must! It's served warm and was so so so soft. It will make you regret you ever ate one at the mall or carnival. We had the jagerschnitzel and the breading was perfect. I think any of the schnitzels would be great. The bartender told us about a special off-menu item that included 3 types of bratwurst. Each one had a unique flavor for the others. My favorite was the peppercorn one. It was one of the best dishes we ever had. This is an absolutely must get dish! For dessert, the apple strudel is the way to go. It's one of the freshest desserts you'll ever have.

My boyfriend and I went to Germany about two years ago, where he ate schnitzel every single day he was there (for a week), so when he found this place so close to our house, he berated me until we tried it. A standout favorite for this spot is that they give you blankets when you sit outside which (in my opinion) should be a standard in restaurants with outdoor seating. Our waiter was super friendly and really knowledgeable about the menu, which is always great when dining with my boyfriend who is known to order whatever is most recommended. We started with the spaetzle (which will be replacing my current go-to mac and cheese order) and then had the Frankfurter Schnitzel and the Jägerschnitzel. Everything was tasty and cooked to perfection! We had to order the Schokokuchen for dessert which was incredible, rich, chocolatey, and the perfect end to the meal. We had a great night and would definitely go back. It will absolutely be added to our favorite dinner spots!

When I tell you this is a pure gem in this plaza of my God...believe when I say you could not pick a better spot to enjoy breakfast or brunch at. This place is too tier brunch spot and thus is coming from a person who does not really care much about breakfast/brunch. Service: Nothing short of professional & delightful servers. Ambiance: Friendly patrons and knowledgeable staff Food: I wanted to try so many items! Everything that came out I was trying to take a peep at...what everyone ordered! Whatever you order you can NOT go wrong here! I recommend sharing cause you pay for what you get here so, it's pricey BUT, shareable. Otherwise you will definitely have leftovers to enjoy at home. Food: i tried the NORMANDY for $20.49 {Bursting with fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy applewood bacon, beechwood ham and I substituted (sautéed cremini mushrooms) for sliced seasoned chicken breast which came topped w/a creamy cheddar cheese sauce and pimento garnish.} Oh my God!...just thinking about it as I type this...is currently making my mouth water! With that being said, it's a must I hit this spot up again when I come back to Hilton Head! @French Bakery - You have an exquisite thing going here so, please don't change a thing!!!! Note: My navigation did take me round & round; it did not pick up the correct location. I had to call the restaurant and they gave me a landmark of their location. If you pull in from the major access road just head past the shops, all the way to the rear (facing north you should see a park in the rear and they are facing the small park area).

The place itself is intimate with moody wallpaper and just a few bar seats, tables and a separate room with four more tables. Despite being slightly ignored when we first walked in, our server Haley more than made up for the experience throughout dinner! Our table of 4 started with olives (warm, bright and lemony- im still thinking about them), crab dip with focaccia (I think the bread was slightly too salty for my taste?), and chicken skins with a lemon aioli (perfectly crispy with a warm curry flavor- yum but also, I should prob see a cardiologist?). For mains, we did family style with the Ube risotto (whoa, absolute flavor bursts. Enjoyed the crispy sunchoke chips. Didn't really taste Ube tho?), ragu pasta (the pasta tasted freshly made but the ragu was a bit disappointing, almost kinda taco flavor profile instead?), steak frites (yum, no complaints), and cacio e Pepe cauliflower (tasted exactly like what you'd expect). Dessert!! Ube cheesecake (delish but couldn't really taste the Ube again for me, my friends disagreed) and a chocolate torte of sorts? Warm, caramelly and almost slightly spicy?? Get it!! Overall, despite a few of the dishes not being the absolute best, I enjoyed the experience, high quality service, and could tell a lot of thought has gone into crafting a fun menu along with the cozy space. Will be back next time I'm in Savannah!!
