We packed the wagon with snacks and water, put on the sunblock and off we went as the 5 year old told me exactly where to go. This park is huge. Has plenty of grass and hills to roll down, a softball field to run on. Plenty of ladybugs to catch, bees to watch out for and dandelions galore. There is also plenty of swings, random play things, serious climbing equipment and long slides that I thought were outlawed. The monkey bars are suitable for kids even though they look gianormous and that slide? It's like a mini splash Mountain drop. They blocked off the adjoining mini structure to the date devil one so the little ones dont get access to something to big for them. However your little ones may just want to climb up to the top anyway. Just let them do it. You know you climbed higher than them when you were young. Bathrooms were clean. The park is well kept. I saw city employees doing their thing when we were there.

[Review #831] 2024-032…read more I forgot that we visited Paradise Park years ago... I think it was a walking field trip from H's daycare/preschool: Leap & Bound Academy? My husband wanted to come back & visit a different park, & this one has some different & interesting play structures, including Saturn, train, & submarine. It does have your standard playground equipment; monkey bars, slide, swings, etc. that separates the big kids from the little ones for safety. The park has a large grassy field for frisbee, soccer, or just running around playing tag. And plenty of trees for shade! The park seems dog-friendly as we spotted several dog walkers during our playtime. There's a shaded picnic area for you to hold a small party, or hang out with friends; with picnic tables & BBQ grills spread out through the park. With the lack of food traffic, the BBQ grills & picnic tables could used some maintenance (rusted grills) &/or clean-up (cobwebs on grills, bird poop on tables). There's a tennis court somewhere; I haven't been but another reviewer posted a pic of the courts. And restrooms are available... again, don't know where but a couple reviewers mentioned they're near the tennis courts; however, there's no stall doors & they're dirty. Oh no! There's no parking lot that I'm aware of, but there's enough street parking around the park's perimeter. Not our ideal park due to its distance from home, but a fun layover when we wanted something different.

I have driven past this park location on several occasions and always wondered about it. I always see local people walking about no matter when I pass by. To my surprise, parking was easy and free. It was also dog friendly which I appreciated. What I had no idea about was how well designed this park was until I stepped foot in it. It has two playground areas, bathrooms, grassy fields for people to play some sports, and a well paved and well marked trail with mile marker to exercise on. It has a moderate up and down hill as well as shaded trees to keep cool and comfortable. WOWza, I thought! And it's so clean inside!! Essentially, you can walk about 2 miles if you do 4 laps. Or a whole mile if you walk 2 laps. I think I can actually do 6 laps only because it was such a nice urban escape and people were polite. The dogs were also having a good time too and at no point I had to worry about some rogue dog owner with their unleashed dogs or something. 10/10 would return again in the future. What a gem of a neighborhood park this was!

If you have a tiny one, I still would be cautious about the play structure in the smaller playground area. I went down the slide with my toddler, and I almost fell mostly because it was so fast. Playground sets are probably geared for older kiddos, rather than toddlers. The swings are super squeaky, and definitely could use some WD-40. All of the play structures could definitely use some tender love. I love how diverse people who are here and everyone seems pretty friendly.
