At checkout I specifically and clearly requested to pay the full charges and be reimbursed by my insurance, asking that NO assignment of benefits be made (nothing entered on the assignment line of the claim). The woman who checked me out did not respond to my request except to smile and nod her head. She told me I owed $292 which I paid without question (I should have known it was too low to be the total). There was no indication that she didn't understand or could not honor my request. I confirmed they were filing electronically and asked for a copy of the claim. I found she had assigned benefits to their office and I had paid only my portion. The total was over $500. This was in direct opposition to my request with no explanation. That was on 4/10/26. To date, 5/18, the claim still has not been filed with my insurance company. Secondly, I requested that my records be sent to my out-of-state dentist of 20 yrs as I wanted them to have all my records. I filled out an authorization form, gave it to Millie at the front desk in person, but nothing was sent. When I called to find out why no records were sent, she denied I had personally handed the form to her the previous day! This was absolutely untrue and I was stunned. She claimed she did not have it and I had to fill out another form. Then they only sent the pdf of my x-rays, not the preferred digital images, and without the treatment plan. The claim filing error and Millie denying I gave her the authorization form are Issues that do not generate trust. I have never had such an experience at any dental or medical office before. They don't seem to have anyone in charge, such as an office manager, although they have 8 or 9 people at the front desk. I will have to decide whether to continue with this practice.

I went in for my first cleaning and was quaking in my boots. My mom's friend (who just so happens to work there) was laughing at me and telling me to suck it up and that I'd be fine. They took me back for my cleaning and I was a bit more at ease. I didn't have long to sit in the waiting room and think about what was going to happen. I cannot remember the name of the woman who did my cleaning but I wish I could - she was SUPER sweet and very good at what she did. She put me at ease and made me relax during my cleaning. Then came the moment of truth. The dentist came in, looked at my teeth and gave me the news I was dreading. I had a tiny cavity just starting in one of my teeth. It'd need to be drilled. *Cue terror* I told him how afraid I was of having anything drilled and he told me not to worry about it, that he would take care of me. He has such a kind personality and he was so careful during my exam that he definitely lowered my anxiety level a little bit, but the real moment of truth was when I needed to have the tooth filled. I showed up for my filling already full of anxiety and prepared myself for the worst. My appointment was scheduled for 11:40. By 11:50 I was numb (almost pain free injection - good job Doc!) and by 12:15 I was leaving the office. It was the fastest, easiest, most pain free filling I've ever had. I barely felt the novocaine injection, the drilling wasn't bad at all, and the filling was over so fast that I was literally in shock. I came back to the waiting room so fast that my boyfriend actually thought something had gone wrong and I hadn't had the filling done! I was amazed, and so happy with the experience. I used to be afraid of the dentist. Now I'm afraid that he'll retire and I'll need to find a new one! I HIGHLY recommend this practice.

Be careful with billing department too as they pre-billed for $700+ for services that were not started for my daughter despite notifying them multiple times that we were not ready to move forward. No notification, no receipt, no outreach. I had to call to ask for help and then had to call again the next week to get it resolved as nobody bothered to call back. Just unprofessional all-around.

Unprofessional & Dismissive - Crown Failed in 9 Months…read more My 4-year-old daughter had a crown placed at Newtown Dentistry, and within nine months, it fractured, leaving only the glue behind. According to their own website, "Under normal use and proper care, a pediatric crown should last until the tooth naturally falls out"--which should be 5-7 years, not months. Another dentist noted excess bonding shortly after placement, which research suggests can contribute to fractures. Despite perfect hygiene, no decay, and a normal diet (chicken nuggets, mac & cheese, yogurt, etc.), the crown still failed. The missing piece was about ¼ inch in size, a substantial failure for a baby tooth. Newtown Dentistry was completely dismissive. They initially told us to only come in if the crown fell off or caused pain. I had to push for an in-person evaluation, where they still insisted the crown was fine. Yet, we now face increased risk of decay, the need for further monitoring, and the possibility of another crown--meaning sedation again. Due to their poor workmanship, lack of accountability, and dismissiveness, we did not feel comfortable having Dr. Kristianne Macarareg monitor or replace the crown. When we requested a refund, they refused but it took several dismissed inquiries via email first. We have since discontinued care and would not recommend this practice to any parent looking for quality pediatric dental care.
