My wife ordered the house bread and wedge salad as appetizers. The bread came with a garlic butter that melted very quickly and the bread was soft and fluffy. The wedge was great with extra cracked pepper. For our entrees my wife ordered the appetizer meatballs which were large enough to be a full meal and I ordered the Bone in Ribeye. The ribeye was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I would order that steak again any time. Drinks- 5 out of 5. We had a couple drinks to start our dinner. They were great and we were pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of bourbon, liquors, and wines. Service- 5 out of 5. Our waiter was phenomenal. We visited Vince Young's Steakhouse with high expectations. Both my husband and I ordered filets cooked medium. While they arrived pink in the center, the exterior of my husband's steak was so heavily charred on the outside it was difficult to cut--and nearly impossible to enjoy. The biggest issue, though, was the overwhelming salt. Both steaks were so salty it felt like they had been soaked in ocean water. The asparagus side was equally disappointing, served in what can only be described as a pool of butter and salt. It wasn't just rich--it was borderline inedible. The excessive oiliness of everything even left a noticeable film on my glass of Malbec just from a sip. Sadly, the quality and balance we expected from a high-end steakhouse just wasn't there. For the price and reputation, we left more disappointed than satisfied. Our waiter was outstanding and that is the only thing that earned one star. Lounge area only and it's first come first serve but we got lucky and found bar seating maybe 30 minutes before the end and managed to order a few things. Appetizers included the lobster bisque and fried quail. Lobster bisque was good. Fries quail, while tasty, was difficult as the amount of breading made it challenging to see what you were biting into which as a result I bit off bone a couple times. Food: I went with the perfect 10 and let me tell you what it was perfect! 5 ounces of Japanese Wagyu steak. 5 ounces of Texas Wagyu beef. What else could you ask for. They were cooked to perfection. All of the appetizers were amazing. The board of cheese that we got was so good. The crabcakes amazing. The pork belly full of flavor. The sides were great. The mac & cheese was amazing. If you're going to do happy hour either come as soon as it starts or before it ends because the lounge area is pretty SMALL. It's open seating for happy hour at the bar & the lounge, so you will be elbows locked with ppl and sharing tables. Happy hour is not for the weak, you better make sure to be on top of getting the servers' attention because they are going! Making a reservation would probably be a good idea. Park in the nearby garage for $10 if you don't want to valet. During happy hour the bar & lounge menu is half off. We ordered the steak frites ($10 deal at the time), bone marrow, and also the pork belly (I didn't get a pic of this). Steak frites hit the spot for the price we paid. Perfect medium rare we asked for and fairly easy to chew, but probably couldn't feed more than 1 person and honestly even for 1 person they might not get full. Bone marrow was heavy on the garlic and oil so don't recommend getting if you don't like that or health conscious, otherwise I'd say it's delicious with the bread. Our bone marrow was kind of lacking though with the actual marrow content and at some point we just had to eat the bread plain with garlic bits. Hands down the best dish we tried was the pork belly. I didn't know what to expect because I'd only ever had pork belly asian styles and hardly had a taste for bbq flavors. This pork belly came out soft and tender. The pork belly starter is deliciously rich and tender, while also a little crunchy on the outside. The drinks are strong but well mixed. The short rib chili is amazing, and elevated even more by the cornbread it is paired with. For main courses: the filet with the seafood trio is not your normal "filet Oscar". It has scallops, shrimp and crab meat , and the sauce has a Texas kick to it. Of course, the chef's Japanese A5 wagyu is absolutely incredible. You don't need a knife to cut it...heck I'm not sure you need teeth to chew it! And for dessert...if they happen to have the eggnog crème brûlée...order it. Trust me.
