Custom salad
Mark R.

Standard salad fair for a salad bar offering. But this ownership goes way over the top to take care of their customers. I enjoyed my custom salad and had a very nice clean dining area in the building attached to the store. Parking is a struggle downtown but if you're willing to pay there is plenty.

We stopped by to grab a bite before heading back home after Railbird music festival. The staff were friendly & helpful, the menu was easy to read, & the extra space next door was a nice addition. We didn't feel the food was overpriced because of portion size and mindful ingredient inclusions.

I came in based on the great reviews. Once again, Yelp led me to a winner. Faith was the young lady that was behind the counter. She greeted me warmly as I entered. It was quiet when I came in but there was a steady stream of customers. Faith was super friendly and helpful. She answered questions and gave me great guidance. When I asked about the soup she allowed me to taste it. I had read about the lemonade and she also allowed me to taste that. I ended up ordering the 1/2 salad and soup. I got the tomato soup. It was delicious. Thick and creamy. Comfort food for sure. Because of Faith's recommendation I tried the bluegrass blackberry salad. It too was delicious. The dressing wasn't heavy but was full of flavor. The salad was nice and fresh. There were four different lemonades. There was a regular lemonade, strawberry, blueberry vanilla and peach nectar. I tried the first three and the blueberry vanilla was my favorite. It was full of flavor but not too sweet. I felt like a light drink. As someone that normally just drinks water, it was a pleasant change up. I would definitely come back when I am in the area again.

I ordered a custom salad and a side of pumpkin soup. Despite not selecting a half soup and half salad, it's automatic when you add the soup to the order. I called and asked them to rectify the situation and that I'd be happy to pay the difference. The salad was good, but I ask for pecans and roasted sweet potatoes and those were missing. Additionally, they added cucumbers and carrots even though I did not add them to the custom "make your own salad" order. They also didn't include the sautéed ginger vegetables even though I paid extra for them. They decided to give me the big (instead of small) salad and give me one less soup even though I paid extra for it. This would've been fine if the salad order was correct, but at least 5 things were wrong with the order. It was okay, but I'd never go back there.

Five stars for a meal that was packed with creative flavor combos in the heart of downtown Lexington. I would describe Vinaigrette as a fast-casual experience with heavy emphasis on soups, salads and flavored lemonade concoctions like lavender lemonade and cantaloupe mint (all made in-house). Good news is, if you're not in the downtown area, there are other locations of this local eatery. My visit kicked off with fast and friendly customer service followed by a Korean-inspired salad, white chicken chili and aforementioned lemonades. There are a handful of tables available with natural light flooding in from the front of the shop. The menu offerings change throughout the week but given the variety, I'm certain you'll find something to enjoy.

Vinaigrette is located in Lexington and when you walk in you get the vibe that it is a salad bar that the kitchen makes for you. They even prepare your order right in front of you. The service was great and everyone was very nice. Didn't have to wait, so that's a plus too! They have the calories up on the menu which is also very helpful. I would totally recommend this place if you love salads!!

The first time I went here was a week ago and now it's my new favorite lunch place. I saw my friend ordering a "Half and half" - I didn't know what that meant at that time. But it looked interesting, so I did the same.I ordered two half-salads. But it turned out what it meant was "A half salad and a soup". The people working there were nice and gave me a full salad on my first day even though I was the one who messed up the order and wasn't clear on my instructions. I have tried almost all of the soups here and "Sausage Kale Potato" soup is my favorite and it is also the most healthiest of them all. Of the salads, BLT and Taco are my personal favorites. All salads are good and no complaints there. There are ample spaces to sit and eat inside. You would have trouble finding parking though since it's in the heart of downtown These days I just order using their app and go pick it up right away without standing in line. A perfect place to eat healthy food!

Best salad in Lexington! One of the best chicken salads I've had... wish I had ordered the full size! Located in the heart of downtown Lexington and convenient public parking across the street. I'm visiting for the day but I'll be back next time I'm in town!

One of my favorite places to get salad!! I love all of the salads I have tried. The bread they have makes a great addition as well. I have no idea why it tastes so good, (maybe because they toss the salad for you?) but you definitely have to try!

Chicken Taco - Full with Chicken

Great place for a salad with many great health options. Ioved this taco salad and fresh lemonade they also make the salads quick and right in front of you. The prices were reasonable and the food was good n fresh.

Really wanted a good salad for dinner and I keep hearing about this place so I decided to give it a try. I placed an order through the app for pick-up. I was heading home for the evening so I thought it would be easy to grab it and go. When I arrived and gave my name at the counter, the young lady working gave me a puzzled look. My order was placed far enough out that it should have been ready when I got there. The young lady checks her computer once and it's blank. She goes to the back, returns and checks it again. This time I see my name come up. She says oh we accepted your order, but for some reason it was not prepared. Ok...so someone comes out to start working on my order, and I wait. Once my salad is made, the young lady bags it and comes from behind the counter to bring it to me. She did offer me an apology and drink on the house. I appreciate her offering something. It was not her fault at all. I was disappointed with the experience as a first time customer. I had the Bluegrass Blackberry salad and it was very good. The blackberry vinaigrette was wonderful! I've never had a blackberry dressing before. It's very unique and brings out the flavors of the salad. The salad came with one container of dressing, but I really wished I had more once I started eating. The lettuce soaked it right up and my salad was pretty dry about halfway through. Overall it was a good salad, but nothing spectacular. Very similar to another clean eating restaurant known for their salads.

This is a fully functional restaurant and or cafe style place. They have a great menu. The menu is seasonal. It's not simple by any standards. In fact it's a great little high end place for garden parties. But today it's just two simple individuals that are having lunch in a garden together. Now we had some sort of special lunch arrangement with hummus and a Greek like salad. It was fresh and delicious. They have great coffee offerings. You must have the flavored gelato with coffee. We had the hazelnut one. It's delicious especially on these hot humid summer days. The service was great. Not being from the area they had to explain the menu to us. A few times. But all went well. They make the gelato offerings as soon as they are ordered. The food they call at the end, eventually. It's made to order. Now where else can you eat in a green house garden? Here in Lexington! This was a first for us. They have all sorts of Sunday concerts while you dine. Music among the trees and flowers. Wow! You can come to poetry readings and relax as you hear the love of someone's works. I'll see you at the Garden next time.

I paired this with the Tuscan vinaigrette and it was perfect. I also had the White chicken chili and it was fantastic. My wife had the BLT salad with the sausage potato kale soup and she loved both. My partner however usually gets the ranch which is pretty standard for the places nearby. Their toppings are okay, but its unfortunate that you are limited to three items before being charged more. I feel like its not enough to get a well balanced, nutritious meal that keeps you full. However, every time I have gone their workers have been lovely, always polite and making conversation! On a Sunday night, there was a wait, but we were able to snag two seats at the bar. The bartenders were great--I wish I remembered their names! They made some excellent food and drink recommendations and were very attentive. We started with a Caesar salad to share, which isn't pictured, and then ordered two pasta dishes that we absolutely devoured. Everything was delicious! The following day, we discovered that many restaurants are closed on Mondays, so we ended up at Carson's again. This time, we decided to check out the back porch. We were expecting a similar menu, but the back porch seemed to focus more on meat and fish options, while we were looking for sandwiches. So, we relocated to the main dining area at Carson's without a reservation. Thankfully, the hostess was able to seat us but let us know that we would need to be finished dining by 7 p.m., which wasn't a problem for us. Our server was great, and we started with the goat cheese appetizer, which was absolutely incredible! Unfortunately, my Buffalo chicken sandwich was drenched in Buffalo sauce to the point that I couldn't really enjoy it. My spouse and I also decided to share sides of the mac and cheese and smoked Gouda broccoli. I was pretty disappointed with both because they were heavily covered in truffle, which I personally don't like. Because of that, I wasn't able to enjoy my second meal here as much as I had hoped. Nonetheless, I would still recommend checking out Carson's. There are plenty of menu options, and our first experience was fantastic. Based on my two visits, though, I would strongly recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine here!

The…read morenew location was beautifully curated and had a cozy, but upscale vibe that we're used to seeing at OBC Kitchen. They even have cozy blankets available for their fireside, outdoor dining spots; a very cute and clever touch. The bar beautifully highlights their bourbon selection which is as expansive as you would expect being in the heart of The Bluegrass As expected, the cocktails were amazing! We tried a few of their seasonal selections, a classic cocktail, and a Four Roses Small Batch neat. All were fantastic! The gin cocktail "he who shall not be named" was well balanced, bright, and overall easy to drink-a crowd pleaser! The milk and sugar (classic cocktail) and the pumpkin espresso martini were coffee-forward, not too sweet options that made for a perfect "dessert" drink without feeling like you were drinking syrup. If you want a fun, new take on some classic cocktails- OBC is never the wrong choice! Now- the food! We had the Parker's Roll- they came out piping hot in a cute cast iron skillet, a cute nod to the KY Southern cooking that I grew up with. The rosemary had just enough presence to be different/modern but was not in your face, which was a bonus for me-but if you're hoping for super flavor forward rolls these may not be for you. Not pictured, my husband's caprese chicken- it was perfectly seared with just the right amount of crispness, the marinara and caprese salad on the side were the perfect amount of freshness and brightness to lighten up the dish. The short ribs and cheesy grits felt like home- a great dish for a rainy, fall night. No complaints here! We also split the hashbrown au gratin- it was yummy, the jalapeño was pepper first, heat second and had just the right amount of freshness and heat to make an otherwise "classic" dish just a little bit more special. SERVICE! While this is a new-to-us location, OBC is a well established, well executed restaurant and the service reflects their heritage. We were fortunate to be one of the tables that Rachel and Jake were working with tonight- Rachel was training but never missed a step and honestly, was a DELIGHT to spend the evening with. :) She was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. She was not "pushy" and gave us plenty of time to just enjoy each course of our meal without being interrupted with ordering the next step. Jake (her trainer) checked in every now and then for feedback on how Rachel was doing, he was always polite and helpful but honestly, not necessary because she was amazing! We also had a few members of the bar team and "runners" check in/deliver drinks and food throughout the meal- they were all polite, timely, kind, and willing to help even if it was outside of their typical "role". Price point: for us, the meal was a little more than we would pay for "just dinner" but for a rare, parents-only, night out it was perfectly reasonable. We will probably reserve this for an "occasion" or a showcase dinner when we have friends in town BUT it is perfect for that! Overall, a great time, with great people, and great food! We're excited to have them on the north side of town!

If you're reading this they've already moved to Turner Commons. Maybe the best fries I've ever had. Seriously! I love a fry. The thicker the better. These aren't steak fries but a healthy, house cut, seasoned to perfection. I could make a meal of of these with the dipping sides of smoked tomato ketchup (meh), lemon-garlic rosemary aioli (oh yeah), and a thai chili dipping sauce (B I N G O) $9 Cola-Braised Shirt Ribs were good. The greens with bacon, I mean, bacon, rocked better than other sides in the past. So there's a win. The scoop of grits were delicious and made for a perfect trifecta @ $33. Wanting something more refreshing yet still filling? I highly recommend the Heirloom Tomatoes/Watermelon/Burrata salad $22. You will think it's huge, and it is, but you'll clean your plate. Dessert? Well. That's bourbon, Son. OBC has an exceptional collection. Peruse options on the iPad to get hints of flavors, proofs, and costs. May I suggest the Stag Single Barrel?
