The food is so yummy. Haven't had something that I did not like. The offerings are creative twists on more traditional items. Loved the cauliflower nachos. Beyond meat burger was so delicious. First time at this new restaurant. Modern comfortable feel. Food quality was very high but portion size a little small for my liking. Had a salad with added chicken for $18. For $18 I expect not to leave hungry, which I did. We also ordered a chicken sandwich which was very nice served on artisan bread and A nice portion of fresh French fries. Server was very pleasant but wasn't on the floor much and I had to go track her down to get the bill. They had a beautiful display case of desserts and pizzas. read more

Second visit. First time around, started with crab arancini then had the branzino with sides of cauliflower and fries. All dishes were delicious and service was excellent. This time, sat at the bar and had their version of a shrimp cocktail with a nicely spicy chipotle sauce. Tried the Vic burger, figuring that Spike Mendelssohn knows his way around a burger. I wasn't disappointed by his take on what a Big Mac wound taste like, reimagined by a talented chef using great ingredients. Still more of the menu to explore. 3rd visit soon. This is one of the best establishments in Northern Virginia. My first time at Vim and Victor, Hope was my bartender, she immediately made me feel at home in this family oriented environment and her service was impeccable. She is very attentive to all of her guests and is able to thrive in a very busy environment. I use to have a membership here and got $50 for referring but found out it couldn't be usef in the restaurant, guess thats okay but wish I knew beforehand. Coming there the servers were nice and friendly but had forgotten two of our foods when i came there with a family of 6. Also I dont know why they won't let everyone have chicken tenders since its " only for kids " Shouldnt everyone be allowed to enjoy it ? Kinda dumb rule to be honest. Food is very overpriced for the taste and how much comes out. Good since theres a gym right there and they have many healthy options but i dont know wouldn't really recommend. read more

This is my second time at Vim & Victor. Great experience. Good quality of food, great wine and served fresh without oxidation and a clean setting. Service is attentive--since it is a new place, the staff is working hard to satisfy the customer. I'm a member at St. James which will make me patronize more often. Terrible service for lunch today. Only a few customers in restaurant and it took 55 mins for a small wedge salad. Food was ok. Salad was $12.72 and wife handed them a $20. Then waitress was unable to provide exact change and only came back with $7 and told her to just take the 28cents out of her tip. She didn't even seem fazed at the poor service she was providing . Not a good start. Hopefully not the norm. read more

I should have known the situation was bleak when it took 10 minutes to bus a table. Full disclosure: I did not eat here. I got a table but after waiting 45 minutes for nachos without anyone checking on us, we left. I have been to busier restaurants and someone at least gave us a heads up. So in conclusion, allow at least two hours of time to have a meal here and bring your own snacks. read more

Service was phenomenal. Food was SUPERB. I got thr Lavender, this warm drink that tasted like a mother fresh after birth holding her child for the first time. I experienced such a gentle intimacy with the drink that I mourned its loss to my appetite. For my burger lovers, The Vic was juicy and cooked to perfection. Should there be any mishaps with your order, the staff is humble in their apology and gixed the problem gracefully. For people wanting a twist on a normal treat, I would eat the nachos. They were easily the healthiest and most unique nachos I've ever eaten. My server was Derrick (my apologies if I butchered the name!) and he was such a joy! To eat here is to be thrust into a lovely experience, and I reccomend this to anyone!!! read more

Absolutely by far the worst dining experience I've ever had. We are seated, 5 mins later the waitress comes and asked if we've already ordered. No one had even ordered drinks yet. So we order our drinks at the same time as our meal. The drinks come 15 later. After an additional 15 the manager comes by and says that she'll check on our meal for us. 40 mins go by and the manager comes back and surprisingly asks 'you've haven't gotten your meal yet!!?' She comes back after 10 mins and offers to pay for our entire meal ( which she should have done). That made us stick around now that we'd invested 1 hour and 20 mins of our Friday night. We regrettably assumed the meal will be coming soon. 30 more minutes go by before they bring it out to us. Almost 2 hours after ordering! I had the grouper sandwich which was absolutely terrible. Completely over seasoned so much so it burned to eat it. The fries were cold. They, for some reason, brought out a chicken Caesar salad, which no one ordered and left it at the table. We tried it to hopefully stop the burning of the grouper, it didn't have any salad dressing and the chicken under cooked. So not only did we have to wait for two hours to eat but the food was an absolute abomination. Had I paid $18 for that sandwich I would have sent it back. That is some audacity to charge that much for below mediocre food. Stay away from this place for anything other than a post work out drink. Completely disgraceful. read more

Waitstaff is completely overwhelmed and undermanned. Venue is only 40-50% full. The advertised burger and brew special is not something the staff are aware off. Hostess was not at the front entrance resulting in lawless seating. Big screen TVs and nice menu, sound is too loud on game days. read more

Service-slow. Had to take our kids menu right after we were seated because apparently there was only one. No calamari, no wings, on a quiet Wednesday night. Food was slow to come out. I was shocked by how good the food was. We went on a Saturday night and had a shaved beef sandwich and chicken tenders with fries and roasted broccoli and a Hawaiian pizza, all of which had good flavor and seasoning and texture. Desserts could have been better, as we had the warm brownie, which was acceptable, and a strawberry shortcake, which was merely acceptable, but it would have been nice to have more selection and something more special for dessert; and it's okay if the dessert is not health food, because people can choose the amount they consume. read more

My husband and I went to Vim and Victor last night with another couple who are members of the St. James. It turned out to be a very disappointing experience. The restaurant was not busy and we were brought to a table immediately. Our waitress was friendly and took our drink orders in a reasonable period of time. But that is were the positives ended. My friend had to place 3 drink orders before the bar was able to fulfill the order. Our waitress kept taking her order then coming back several minutes later to tell her that the bar was not able to make the drink. It took about 25 minutes to get drinks on the table and when they came I was informed that they were still making mine! I ordered it almost a half hour prior! Then they came back to the table with more apologies saying that they also did not have a component to make my drink so they made me a very similar drink and were comping it. Ok fine just give me a cocktail at this point. We then ordered 2 appetizers to share and we each ordered a dinner entree. A few minutes later, our waitress came back and said they didnt have one of the things we ordered on the menu anymore. So we ordered something else. About 15 or 20 minutes later they bring out all of our entrees and we said that we hadn't even received our appetizers. The wait staff was confused as they didnt seem to know that we had even ordered appetizers. We said fine, forget the appetizers and we will just have the entrees. One server said he had a tuna poke bowl, which we had not ordered. More confusion from the wait staff and then they said no this is the harvest salad (which I had ordered) with shrimp. I said I ordered chicken, not shrimp as he put the salad down. I looked down and said, this is chicken not shrimp. So it seems the staff does not even know the difference between proteins. We had to remind them about an order of fries that I had also placed. They brought them out a few minutes later but they were not the type of fries I had ordered. I didn't even mention it at this point. I will say that the food that we got was actually pretty good, thank God. But I have never been to a restaurant where the server was less informed about all the things missing from the menu, as well as having so many other issues getting what we ordered. She sat a table next to us at one point and she did not take the time to inform them of all the things that were not available on the menu so she set herself up for failure again. Clearly the menu needs to be updated or the bar needs to actually be stocked, or both. Suffice to say we will NEVER go to this restaurant again. read more

This is one of my favorite places to hang out. The music is great, the staff is awesome, and the bartenders are amazing. Hope makes incredible cocktails, is always smiling, and can answer any question I have. The best bartender I've come across. Ariana(sp) is an awesome server!! The food was fabulous. The service-let's just say they are working out the kinks. It has great promise. I would come here again and again just to try everything on the menu. Two of our party had steak-perfectly cooked. I had fish, also perfect. One had near meat-interesting that is an option, it seemed popular-a few people around us ordered it. This place is ridiculous. First off the bowel was disgusting . I got the açaí bowel which was 12 dollars ( a ridiculous amount for what you get ). It was disgusting, I could not find one thing I liked about it , everything was frozen ... all the fruit of top was originally frozen and had no flavor . I had basically 2-3 strawberries cut up small , 3 SMALL SLICES OF A BANANA, and frozen blueberries that tasted like they have been in the freezer for months . Not to mention it contained raisins which just does not go together but that's my fault for not substituting it. Now the flavor of the actual smoothie was straight sugar . Their was no other flavor I tasted other than sugar . Not sponsored but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SOUTH BLOCK !!!!! I always go there but I left school for a free period and south block is 30 mins away so I had to sadly find something closer. I barely ate any of my bowel , complete waste of money ! read more

Torn about how many stars to give this place. The setting is fabulous, and my meal (the blackened grouper sandwich) was delicious. Was with a party of 4 at 6:30 on a weeknight. The service was comically bad. Our server was pleasant, but we had to really make an effort to get his attention at every turn. It was happy hour, but we were immediately told that they were out of all of the happy hour wines. I ordered one of the cold-pressed juice options. Long after my tablemates received their cocktails, the server returned to tell me they were out of the ingredients to make my drink. OK. I ordered a different beverage - the Grapeshot. A bit later the server returned - couldn't do that one either. I opted for water. Two of us really loved our dishes, my sandwich and my tablemate's hamburger. Two of us enjoyed but didn't rave about their's - the kale quinoa salad with chicken, and the shaved ribeye sandwich. An order of brussels sprouts never appeared. Ordered a cup of gelato for dessert and it never appeared. Asked about it multiple times and was eventually offered it in a to-go cup as we were leaving. Two of our four checks had errors. Am guessing that the steady use by members, as well as folks there for an event will keep this place afloat because there are so few options close by. But is this were a stand-alone restaurant, the service would sink it very quickly. read more
