Fantastic! My sister took us here for a family dinner, and wow it was amazing!…read more Authentic Italian foods and 5 star hospitality. We arrived right on time for our reservation, but the table was not quite ready as the previous party was taking their time to settle their bill. The owner took us to be seated in the gallery area and brought us some champagne and fresh bruschetta to snack on. I was blown away by the delicious and generous appetizer. We were not at all upset to wait for the table, but the fact he went above and beyond just really set us up for a great night. Once we did get our table, we were quick to order a few pastas from Rome. The front of house manager/ owner is the husband of the talented chef, so he was able to give us some recommendations. The complimentary bread comes with a great quality olive oil and the most delicious, aceto balsamico for dipping. I literally have been hunting for a balsamic vinegar that tastes even slightly similar. The meal was amazing. Burrata Speck I think it was (it's burrata with speck layered over top) was AMAZING. Great balance of flavours and the burrata was a delicious, fresh milky taste. I can't handle much oil, so I already knew the pasta with all the cheese and olive oil, wouldn't settle well in my stomach. Luckily, I'm with my whole family so I was able to just take a little taster of everything. We really loved everything we ordered. The cacio e pepe was delish! Salty from all the parm but a creamy sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. We also got the Carbonara which I found to be too salty after having the Cacio E Pepe. It tasted very good though! We also got a fettucini I think with ragu which was such a lovely depth of flavour. We also got some kind of a pork shank which is HUGE and came with some delicious roasted fingerling potatoes and I think pork lard. Pork is not my cup of tea, but I will say it was cooked very well and had a great taste. Seasoned beautifully! The staff were so friendly throughout the whole dinner and we had such a great time. I highly recommend reserving a table because they were fairly full all night long.

It was suggested that we stop in around 8:30 PM and they may be able to take drop ins. That is exactly what we did as it's a short three minute stroll from our hotel. It's an unusual space with a couple of sliding garage doors and surrounded by glass, certainly not your prototypical Italian bistro. It somehow works, with the checkered table cloths and the impeccable service, especially what we received from Griff. The martinis were spot on, the Cacio e Pepe so good with a house white and a whole fish Pesce del Giorno disassembled at the table by the owner Danilo. The bread with EVOO and balsamic was also excellent. The entire experience has us longing to go back to Rome again. Danilo's Wife is the chef and a true star in the kitchen. She was taught in Rome and the authenticity of the food is amazing. We were even given a chance to talk to Danilo the following afternoon prior to opening where we were given tips on sights and restaurants in Rome for our upcoming trip. Our meals done, we were offered a couple of digestif's which just capped the meal off and again spoke of a true Italian experience. We can't wait to come back again, for Griff's service, and to share our experiences with the tips we were given by Danilo. It was a true 6 stars out of 5!

We got there about an hour prior to closing, but figured a wood fired pizza can't take all that long. The server Abigale was very quick, polite and obviously well trained. We ordered a bottle of Chianti along with a Caprese salad. The lovely K an Al Pesto pizza and I the Hawaiian. I know there is a big debate about pineapple on a pizza, but we are here at home not in Italy. The salad was excellent, the wine very nice, and the pizza's were divine. They were crunchy, well topped and cooked perfectly for us. Having spent the month of March in the south of Italy this year we've eaten a fair amount of pizza, this experience took us right back. It wasn't long that we were the only ones in the place and the owner came by the check on us while he mopped the floors. The place was being cleaned by all the staff along with the owner, you don't see that often. He moved from India to Italy and finally here to Canada. We're glad he did! 100% Recommended!! We will be back for sure!

We got the focaccia and the bruschetta. We ended up putting the tomatoes that fell off the bread onto the focaccia and it was incredible. We came back later, got more bruschetta, a margherita di bufalo pizza and a glass of the mazzei chianti! Perfect pairing! We ended with an affogato and tiramisu (the server's mother's secret recipe!!!!) Also want to add they have a wonderful patio section with plentiful seating!

In hindsight because the portions are so large we easily could've ordered one or two entrées and split them. I opted for the classic fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. (Bibimbap) and some true Italian (Gnocchi and homemade Pasta) with the rest being slight variants of both. We had the Burrata salad with greens and roasted and fresh tomatoes (nicely skinned) with Pesto, Pune Nuts and a balsamic dressing. It was beautiful but needed more salt and acid to tame down the Burrata. Still a nice salad. We split the Patate Fritte which was fried potatoes and gnocchi with a really flavorful Chipotle Mayo. The whole dish didn't work. The gnocchi were over fried and too small to eat with the much larger potatoes which were also underdone. The Tuna Poke Bowl was very nice (and a good deal) with all of the usual components. The Salmon was cooked perfectly (crispy on the outside slightly translucent inside ) and came with a wasabi cream, lots of roasted veggies (potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans) and somewhat random things like cornichons, caper berries, and beets. The whole thing worked but would have been better with some editing. I personally wanted more wasabi in the cream and wished that it didn't get watered down by all the veggies. They have a nice cocktail list and a decent list of wines by the glass, several local all fairly priced. The place is modern looking with windows overlooking downtown streets in two sides. The place is very modern with lots of metal and concrete and consequently lots of energy and lots of noise. I see this as a great space for a bunch of friends, less so for a romantic dinner. Overall I liked this place. It could be better and I would return. I love what they are aiming for.

There was a bridal party having dinner in the back, probably ten young ladies dressed in gowns, left while we were enjoying our wine prior to the meal. Certainly made me feel a bit under dressed, but they provided a touch of class. The service is, as expected, exemplary with our server obviously well versed in properly caring for diners. Where we had a bit of an issue was the food. It was good, but not outstanding. We were geared up to try their lasagna, as we make a pretty darn good one at home, and are always looking to see if we can tweak it. Sadly they were sold out at 8:15 PM, and were also out of Burrata. I ordered the linguini Vongole which was very good, of a bit short of clams, and they were very small. The lovely K couldn't decide between the Carbonara and the Ragu. Ever helpful our server suggested an appy size for each to try them both. Not sure we've ever had that opportunity given to us. The Carbonara had quite a bit of water in the bottom of the bowl, and the Ragu had a citrus note that was a bit odd. That said all the meals were good, but had more to give. The Stoneleigh Pinot Gris we had never had, but the Sommelier's recommendation was spot on. Would we go back? We sure would, we still want to try that lasagna and the burrata.

I'm not sure if that's the norm in Canada or maybe in North America, but in Hawaii, OSF isn't a popular restaurant at all. We came in with a large group and Ang helped us. She was so nice. I can't believe she was able to keep all of my family happy (there were 21 of us) and keep a smile on her face. Amazing. She's the best server I've had in awhile. She made sure everyone got the correct orders, refilled our bread and water. She even was patient enough to give us separate checks. I ordered the chicken penne with spaghetti noodles instead of penne noodles. It was ok. I think I'd stick to spaghetti with meat sauce next time. The French onion soup was a $3 up charge and a little on the salty side. I think the spumoni ice cream at the end is the highlight of the meal. If you like cheap drinks and lots of carbs, this is your place. For me it's just kind of ok. The service was excellent though!!
