I am writing this review to share my recent experience at TONICS and to highlight the unprofessional and discriminatory behavior of a front door Security staff member. Having visited this establishment over 50 times in the past, I have generally enjoyed my visits; however, I was taken aback by the incident that occurred. My friend and his family, have over 25 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, have been previous owners and operators of multiple establishments, was denied entry due to his physical disability resulting from scoliosis and mobility challenges!!! The doorman, a dark haired caucasian male in his mid-20s to early 30s, judged my friend's walking style and wrongfully assumed he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Despite my attempts to explain my friend's physical condition in a respectful and cordial manner, the doorman remained closed-minded and did not seek further clarification from management or someone above him. Consequently, we were all barred from entering TONICS due to this staff member's discriminatory actions. It is particularly disheartening to note that my friend has never faced such issues in any other establiahment in Kelowna before, but experienced similar discrimination on 2 previous occasions at TONICS. I urge potential visitors to consider this experience carefully, as you may encounter profiling and discrimination at TONICS that could leave you feeling devalued. Kelowna has many more food and beverage establishments that will show you respect and value your patronage, you may prefer to attend one of those locations. read more

Crap music. Dj played a single beat the entire night instead of songs you can break a move to. played the same songs multiple times

Only place in Kelowna that opens late and can seat a large party but both the food, service and ambience are only passable. It took a long time to get our food even though there were only two tables present and the food itself was a bit cold and not very tasty when it came. I ordered the shrimp wrap and although it came with fries, i also added a side salad and both sides were not bad at all! The wrap itself was stuffed with old tasting baby shrimps, lettuce huge slices of bell pepper not proportionate at all. The guacamole was quite flavourless lacking salt, lime and everything wonderful about guac. Finally, someone in our group received COLD fish and chips, as in still frozen in the middle. Overall, prices are a bit lower of all the choices in downtown but you pay for what you get... read more

Slow service, staff is drinking and socializing around the bar. You wait forever in line but see staff members hugging others and letting them skip the line. Used to be a great spot, new management have ruined it! read more

52 different flavors of wings, and all that I have tried are great. Service was ok, and being wing night it was buzzing.

our server amanda was terrible she barely came back to the table let alone bring us water, she was openly chatting with coworkers at the bar and was overall neglecting the table while she was having fun socializing with her friends clearly read more

Good Pub going down hill fast hard to get served staff don't care staff drinking lots with clients over charging for drinks you did not order check your bill the food is Great and priced good once the staff has been cleaned up i will return and give it a go again hope its soon read more

the wings are alright but nothing special. I had the sesame steak wrap and it was pretty gross. Just tasted like bland processed cheese. The ceasar salad tasted sour and the fries were really overcooked. It was pretty cheap though (10 bucks for 12 wings, 12 bucks for the wrap + sides) service was decent but slow, even though the place was pretty empty when we were there. read more

I was in Kelowna and wanted to get together with some friends that I haven't seen in years and enjoy a nice pub meal, Tonics was chosen as it was close for all parties to meet there. We arrived at 7pm and it took 2 hours for us to get our food, eat and leave, and all during this time we were subjected to such loud overbearing music that we had to YELL to have any chance of a conversation. We asked our server if we could have the music turned down, and it did go down a few decimals, but before long was cranked back up, by the time our food arrived my head was pounding and all I wanted to do was eat and get the hell out of there. I'm sorry that we chose this place to eat and visit, the food was good, but it took much too long to arrive and the music was way too loud for easy conversation. And YES, I did sign up to Yelp for the sole purpose of writing this review because it was that bad and I was that disappointed with how your establishment ruined what should have been a great evening out dining with old friends and I would hope that you will learn and grown from your customers constructive criticisms. read more

Great wings the dill pickle dry wings are delicious, cold lager $4 a pint , good happy hour prices.

Best wings in Kelowna by far!!! So many flavors and good-sized meaty wings. It is a sports bar so expect pub food, TVs, loud sports fans and music. If you want fine dining - please go elsewhere but don't criticize this establishment for being what it is intended to be! I have been here with friends and family for drinks and appies or a casual meal. The food and service has been excellent every time. The prices are very reasonable (especially for happy hour or specials) and portion sizes are great. The music is a good variety of genre and eras and I have never found it to be too loud. They have a nice selection of drinks and everything we have tried has been good. Try Tonics for yourself and enjoy your casual outing! read more

By far the best pub food in Kelowna. Waitresses are excellent, food is great. I would recommend this anyone. One of my favorite places in Kelowna. the only down side is the neighborhood. read more

I cannot say enough for this place. We got into town on a Monday after a 5.5 hour drive from Banff. We drove around starving and multiple places wouldn't serve us food because their kitchen was closed. Then found this spot. Even though we arrived 5 minutes before the kitchen closed they were more than happy to serve us! The food was amazing and the prices were great! 6 stars if I could! read more

I ordered an IPA to start (not sure what t was, it was on special on a Sun). It came while we were picking food, and it was pretty terrible. That experience, combined with the high prices for uninspiring sounding dishes, served to convince us to cut our losses. No thx, Tonics. read more

Our server was Indi. I drank Caribou Lou and didn't really like it (my preference no fault of the establishment) asked for a Richards Radler Grapefruit beer and Indi offered to deduct it from my bill (I respectfully declined). I thought this was of good character of her. I ordered 3lbs of hot wings, French fries with a side of gravy. Their fries were hot and scrumptious! First bite had me in awe. Wings were the best I've had, fries were perfect, gravy just like mom used to make it. Portions were large, overall very good service and food. Location suffered due to loud motorcycles cruising by repeatedly. read more

Waitress was rude and disrespectful. Food wasn't even hot when it arrived. Barely saw our waitress all night. Didn't get asked for a refill until we were finished dinner. Bad service and food. She made a scene about us not tipping and made it our fault for her having to tip out. Sorry, but that's not our problem. Not coming here again. read more

I come for the wings....nothing else. The atmosphere is nothing special, it's a big sports bar, the other food is just ok the cocktails are watered down...but the wings are maybe the best in town. I always ask for extra crispy and that sweet and spicy sauce is the way to go. Sunday's are 1/2 price wings too. Grab a friend and enjoy. read more

I can't say enough about this place, Cheap drinks, great food, right downtown Kelowna, my go to pace for years!!!

I would NOT recommend this place for many reasons. The biggest is that the managers are not accountable when problems arise, often times they simply point the fingers at the customers and try to minimize the situation. I have experienced cold food that had to be sent back twice, when it wasn't busy. Steak either overcooked or under cooked, seafood mushy, food poisoning from a meal brought over from the greek restaurant they own next door, my dog also got sick eating it...not dealing with the food complaint or making excuses, couldn't get a drink because the bartender was too busy drinking with the customers. How can one make serving it right decisions when drinking on the job.. The bartender would treat the customers like they are not welcome and that is not just myself, several others have left this establishment because of this. They do not care that clients have spent possible years going to their establishment spending $lots and when a few food or other not getting service when they have only had two drinks.. situation arise they tell the customer to go elsewhere??? The location is in a sketchy part of town where crackheads and street people circle around and even come into the establishment... there are a lot of nicer places to go who treat their customers better and are accountable. read more

Tonics Pub - Pubs Near Me - Kelowna, British Columbia

I have been to this pub many times both with small and large groups.... overall... best pub in town... when it comes to food, service and atmosphere. Staff is always friendly and never had bad food. Went to Rose's pub one time and comparing the food.... Rose's was a joke. Ordered spinach and cheese dip.. gave me less then half of a soup cup of dried overcooked dip with few chips for $10 ... Got spinach and cheese dip at Tonics it was more then double as much dip cooked perfect and served with pita bread that was like a meal in it self rather then appetizer for same price. Their food specials are also great and more then reasonably priced. read more

The servers, management, and cooking staff did not seem in any way coordinated during my visit. I ordered an iced tea and was given something that was obviously a glass of brisk that for some reason costed three dollars. A lot of troubles with our food including my adult friend being served a portion of fries along with two tiny chicken tenders and when asking the wait staff, it took an additional 20 minutes to get another 2. I ordered a shrimp appetizer than arrived along with our already late chicken tenders. By the time all of our food was at our table, the food was cold. When we spoke to a blonde woman about the service we received we were ignored until it was time to pay our bill, along with a hovering waitress while we were paying. The place is not anything special considering it's atmosphere, prices, staff, and location. read more

Awesome spot! Highly recommend it! The food portions and prices are the best I've seen around. Very relaxed atmosphere and I love the chill music. Every server we've had has been fantastic. My boyfriend and I meet halfway in kelowna and after discovering tonics, we always make a point of dining there at least once. Cheers to the great staff and management at tonics! read more

I only go here on Wing Wednesday. Lots of good flavors to choose from, and they taste great. The atmosphere is good (when we go usually between 4-7). The service can be slow but that's not surprising giving how busy it usually is. read more

Went there the other night with some girlfriends and had a great time. Great atmosphere, nice mixed crowd (no children). Had the prawn tacos which were delicious (highly recommend!) My girlfriend had a spinach and goat cheese salad with a grIlled chicken breast added to it which was also really good. Nice selections of wines on special and a nice selection of cocktails too. Fast and friendly service and really good value. read more

Good service and prices. It was a Monday night so fairly quiet.

The food was excellent, right down to the smallest detail. They were very accommodating when it came to customizing our orders. Waitresses were great. Highly recommend this place great pub food. read more

The food is great and prices are good. Waitresses do a fairly good job. I have been to this pub a handful of times and had great experiences . Only hang up was tonight there was the loud obnoxious regulars at the bar that ruined the atmosphere. The couple behind me complained of the loud swearing and yelling and the waitress told the people it's normal. The management did not deal with it which resulted in a physical altercation with my husband and the patrons behind us... because we complained. Management did not apologize and police had to be called for our safety. Too bad these unruly people are not cut off... this kind of experience is what gives places a bad name. Its up to the management and owners to keep patrons safe! It was Thursday night at 6pm. read more

Great food, good service, always a great place for friends to gather. Absolute BEST WINGS IN TOWN!

Friday night, not very busy, completely ignored by every single waitress there, 2 of us, after 10 minutes enough is enough, go to bar, another stupid experience but by the bartenders now, clueless and not overworked, finally a couple crappy pints of beer, outside on patio, meet some friends, waitress cleans their table takes their order, our glasses pretty well empty. Does she notice? Hell no, the next one that rolls out, looks at everything, 5 of us there, empty glasses, back inside. Worst bar service in my life, on the flipside we had just come from Brandts Pub, complete opposite experience. Tonics was a painful experience, never to be tried again, just beyond stupid, I guess if the staff all hate their job so much, don't come in, bartenders were the worst, pull & pour, a monkey would have been better at this and probably smiled. Avoid at all costs. read more
