If I were to compare the food here to the coast then it would be 2 stars at its highest. We came here on wings night which was a Wednesday. Service was ok. Anyways, we came here for some wings and the wings were not great. The flavor was ok but the ways the wings were prepared was a bit off. The outside layer had a slight crunch to it but however after eating the third one, you would notice it to start tasting gross. The wings tasted funny. You can taste the thick fat in between the skin and the meat. The wings tasted like frozen wings that were baked in the oven. I am really big on wings but the correct way to do it is to either fry or bake the wings till the middle fat is gone and what you would be left with is nice crispy skin before tossing it in the sauce. After the second wing, all I can taste is the fatty or slimy skin with a slight crunch on the outside. This was not tasty at all. I don't think I will be back. read more

Stopped at the Best Western Plus Flo charger to give the EV a boost. Walked into the local pub to wait for the charge. Service was stellar and I was seated right away. The bar is really nice and it was approximately 3/4 full at Happy Hour. There are TVs everywhere with various sports on, a pool table, and the atmosphere was buzzing but not too loud. I ordered the local draft lager (pint $6) really nice and perfect for cool for a hot day like today, and the happy hour chicken taco ($7). I overheard a local asking about the dinner special which changes daily based on what is available ($25). Chicken taco came out hot and fresh. It was a deep fried crispy chicken breast with a cold slaw mix and a mildly spice sauce. Very tasty. The pub is very clean and open. I felt immediately relaxed and could see myself as a local coming here often. I will definitely be back. read more

Standard pub wings--saucy and tasty. Both the hot wings and honey garlic wings were yummy. I appreciated the side of carrot and celery sticks. The wings are too pricey in my opinion- $15 for a pound (approximately 10 wings)! But I suppose most people go for the discounted wings Wednesdays or just come for a beer rather than obsess about chicken wings like I do. read more

This... was okay. The food... okay. The vibe... If you're into creepy old men being creepy old men and playing pool, then sure. I ordered the fish tacos and it was just... Oily. My friend had ordered their teriyaki skillets (they call it something else on the menu, because they don't want to scare people who haven't eaten anything but a burger with the word "teriyaki") and it was just drenched in teriyaki sauce and the rice seemed like those instant rices you could make at home. I think I will actually try and go back during happy hour and see what types of drinks they serve and maybe I'll order fish tacos again and see if perhaps they've just had an off day. read more

I'd like to go 3 1/2 but not an option here. I was leaning to 4 stars but I need further examination to commit. I had some time so thought a drop-in to 97 St might work. It has been probably 10 years or more since my last visit and my memory told me it was ok at that time. Once I entered and chose my seat a server came by and chatted me up. She was very friendly and patient with my delay in ordering after the specials etc were mentioned. She was up on her beers and I felt the Winter Ale was the best choice. It hit the spot. She came back shortly, addressed me as 'Hon', and took my order. I liked the 'Hon' part. Call me vain. I ultimately chose the Pulled Pork poutine and waffled over eating in or taking 'to go'. I was in the midst of a car purchase and thought I may have to run. Eating in was my choice. The food was also good, not outstanding but very visually appealing and tasty. Could have used more cheese but there was lots of pork and my heart likely wouldn't miss the additional fat. Unfortunately I had to eat/drink and run but I'd like to return. I didn't get my servers name but she gets high marks for her service, attention, and flattery. Like The Terminator said, "I'll be back". read more

Love this place! Great craft beer (The Los Muertos Cerveca Negra by Bad Tattoo is my favorite) and the pulled pork is delicious!!

Really good specials. Pints of parallel lager 5.25 on Friday. Great crisp, cold pint. Really nice tasting. Good food, pub food, but good. It's got sports on the several TVs. Service was good even though my dad was condescending about the lime he received instead of a lemon. It's walking distance from my house. I will be back. read more

We stay at the Best Western attached to this pub about 4 times a summer but never really go to this pub. This last Saturday I was reminded why not. It was a Saturday night with maybe only a dozen people there. The lighting was wayy too bright for a pub. We asked if they could dim the lights, and the server told us it's for the patrons playing pool. C'mon, this isn't championship pool here, it's a pub! All the pubs I have been to with pool tables have dim lighting and no issues. The other thing that pissed me off was the music was turned down so low you could barely make out the songs. You shouldn't be able to hear the 60 yr old couple sitting 20 feet away making out, tongues all slapping against each other...*barf* I asked if they could turn the music up, so they did slightly. I must have spent about $20 in the digital juke box thing, and they turned it back down and I noticed the speaker system was missing a channel. So when you hear the song, a guitar part or keyboard part of the song would be inaudible. What a joke. Also, the server was a bit dry and cold...sure doesn't give you the warm and fuzzies that a pub should. For a pub, no thanks. read more

Sat the bar and the service was really slow, at least 5 minutes (at LEAST, waited so long I contemplated just leaving) before the bartender approached to say hello and take a drink order. My food was taking so long that the bartender even wondered what was going on (either busy kitchen or he forgot to punch it in?? It wasn't packed in there so I'm going with the latter). Ate here tonight, May 22. As there were no reviews we were a little skeptical. ..but we were feeling brave. They had Stella on tap,so for me that was a plus right off the bat. Waitress seemed new,did not really know much about the menu...except for the special. ..beef on a bun for 6 bucks. We asked about the fish taco, how many come in and order. ..she said two or three. So we went with the beef on a bun and fish tacos. For $6.00 the beef on a bun was a great deal, the au jus was great. The tacos came with four, so that was good. Taste of tacos was really good,but could use more fish. Overall I thought it was good value for money. Next time we are back we will for sure stop in again. ..and hopefully have better weather! read more
