I can honestly say that the craftsmanship of their jewelry is remarkable. I have been going to Rockport for many decades, and this is always my first stop! I have bought pieces in gold, silver, mixed metals. plain, intricate designs, with pearls and stones. There is something for everyone. I'm can't say enough about this amazing place. Take a trip to Rockport for its beautiful scenery, have a lobster roll, and pick up a piece, (or more), of James Russel's fabulous jewelry. You won't regret it!

Was told it would take 2 wks. Stupid me, gave them the one I still had. Gave him my name, address, tel #, email and ups acct # to ship it back to me, since it's a 3hr drive to get there. I sent messages on fb and emails and voice messages. NOTHING!! My daughter happened to go there this past March. Inquired about my earring, showing a picture of it. Was told by the son that they would get back to us in a week. Still haven't heard back! Like brother, like brother, like son! Customer service is a BIG FAT '0'. So now I have paid for a set of earrings, lost one and gave the remainder back to them. They can make another and resell the set. A lousy way to make a buck!! It is despicable!!!

This Store is MAGICAL! It's like stepping into Narnia…read more I find it funny how bent up some people are because the wonderful girls who run the store have turned it into something more beautiful then it used to be. A long time ago this shop was just another generic hippie new age incense rock shop that sold ugly hippie clothing..and those are a dime a dozen. If that's a kind of shop you prefer, then unfortunately there's a store just like that across from this one. Now this store.. it's magical.. and dazzling..! They still have cool rocks and fossils, but girls behind the counter are so knowledgeable about the origins, meanings, and uses for each stone. They still sell clothes, but it's stylish clothes that are fair trade! Pretty clothes that don't make you look like you fell off a gypsy caravan haha. The back of the store they turned into a wonderful gallery space, with handmade watercolors and oil paintings. They're even creating amazing wire wrapped jewelry! One of the girls does amazing things with very old vintage keys! Everything is locally made! Oh! and they sell seashells! There was a store in Rockport with the flirty seashell captain, but he closed. One of these young ladies worked for him and decided to bring in the same quality shells he had. Theres a silver jewelry down the street who also sells the same exact shells.. but cost 5 times more.. ridiculous! Also.. for those ignorant customers.. This store has had the same owner for a while now, he just had the smarts to let these wonderful artists change up the look of the store to set them apart from those other stores. Thank you girls! -Karen

I didn't buy anything but I wanted to!…read more I spent much of yesterday crystal shopping as I was hunting for a new ring. I stepped into this special space and told the older gentleman what I was looking for. He was so kind and opened every case for me to try rings on while I had my son in his infant carrier. He made me laugh and out me at ease. I kept apologizing for trying on every ring because I wanted to find "the one." It didn't end up being at this store but I would go back and certainly send folks his way! What a kind soul with a beautiful collection of jewels. Get your booty there ASAP!

I was having a private QUIET whispering conversation with my fiancé about items in the store and seeing which one he liked for a set of earrings. The man behind the counter chimes into said conversation by saying, "yeah that piece is so nice" Annoyed--so i put back the earring and proceed to the small display of rings. just staring at them. He again says" we have that moonstone ring over here as well in other colors and in gold and in many sizes--he kept pushing and pushing the item no matter what angle you said that you weren't interested or were looking for something different. Again we move to another part of the store and the woman hollers out for us to go up stairs and how amazing it is up there. 'I reply, we've already been up stairs" This was our cue to leave. I'm sorry -- THIS IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE. you're trying wayyyy to hard to be something you're not. Leave the hippy bit for someone else. We're locals and don't need you passive aggressively trying to sell us the same sterling silver junk and chotsky trinkets that have been in your store for ages. If we needed help, we would ask.
