It was just fabulous. we started with a French baguette , this is the best French baguette I have in United States !!!! really bring me back to Europe. We stopped next-door on their bakery and bought some desserts Mongo mousse cake, vanilla, feels beignet , lemon tarts, chocolate croissants and baguettes absolutely delicious so if you go in Fort Collins, do not miss this restaurant Bon appétit!

Interior is very "Parisian cafe", period art, TVs showing videos of the pastry chefs doing their thing. She ordered a hot chocolate to start, and a Parisian crêpe (berries, whip cream, raspberry coulis). I ordered a galette (think square envelope-crêpe) from the savory side. I'd had it last visit and had been looking forward to a redux. I ordered the Professeur Steve, capers, mushrooms, caramelized onions, spinach and brie, which arrived with smoked salmon arranged like a rose at opposing corners (keeps it cold). Oh man, this brie-gooing mushroomy sweet-caramelly onion spinach umami explosion goes perfectly taken in a bite with the salmon. Addiction sated; withdrawals saved off until next June's visit. Wife's crêpe was delicious--everything sweet-toothers love. Hot chocolate is real. Like not from a packet but from a chocco chunk and paid labor somewhere nearby. Whipped cream was real, and thick enough that it could have been sliced and served on its own. Absolutely freaking delicious. Love this place. See you in a year!

Unfortunately, about three months ago, I received sausage links . I felt they had been overcooked, but I asked the servers if they have been put in a deep fryer and response with something to the effect of as possible. The reason I brought it up was because the ends of the sausage were cooked as much as the sausage they were very well overcooked they brought me a new serving, and that was it except that their owner confronted me while I was sitting there and letting me know that they don't use deep fryer and they have some kind of a convection oven that cooks it much faster, etc. she was quite all right. Actually I didn't think much of it. Since that time on two occasions, think about this over 2 1/2 years two occasions my eggs when asked to be over medium came back with a white very runny and the servers took them back one time I said never mind. I can eat with it no problem they still took it back that's it. Never heard anything from anybody concerning that until today on my birthday with my son my granddaughter and my wife we had a large breakfast and we left. I got outside and the manager the owner confronted me in front of my family and challenged me with an opening statement of "you always come here and complain " and ask food to be taken back. " I was totally caught off guard other people were standing around and she was loud. I replied by saying I have no idea what you're talking about not reflecting on the eggs and the sausage from before at that time. Stood there, Stoic and my family looking and she went on to say and "then you asked for an extra plate. "" I'm the owner. These are her words. This is a franchise and we have to serve the food on three different plates because it policy!!! I am fully aware of that policy. I asked for sausage, eggs and hashbrowns and they bring it on three plates and I always ask politely, Can I have a larger plate because I mix it all up no one has ever complained and more often than that, They bring a big plate before I even ask. I thought she was very much condescending and disrespectful . I didn't raise my voice. I just told her she's incorrect. I come there I would say on the average four times a week not counting weekend I probably spent close to $800 a month at this restaurant and I always tip well over 35 to 50% always. I left with saying that "apparently you don't want me here " she said "well that's your choice" What an amazing event from an owner of a restaurant accusing me of "always" her words not mine, "always taking my food back or complaining about getting food in three plates!!! and then I found out later when I got in the car, my wife said when they served the food, the lady had said to you when she handed the plate watch out the plate is hot and my comment was and the food's not strictly satirical joking comment I didn't say to the sever since I hadn't even touched the food yet my food is not hot when you take it back, but somehow that comment apparently got back to the owner that's why she confronted me out front because the server took that literally. Though not being addressed brought that up, but I didn't know what she was talking about till I got in the car. All I can say is For someone to be an owner of a large franchise with volume of this nature number one she could easily have said can we speak over here away from everybody but instead in front of customers coming out and my family, she chose to chastise me in front of everybody without getting any opinion from me strictly telling me how bad I have been I always come there and cause a problem. She told me that her servers have anxiety. I am so upset she had ruined my birthday day. I'm sure my family is like stunned that I am just shocked that the owner of a restaurant would actually do what she did terrible terrible terrible customer service.

I swear that they tried to poison us.. My kids ordered pasta, and when we got the food they refused to eat it. They said it tasted like cleaner. i smelled it and I swear it smelled EXACTLY like ammonia. I called the waitress over, who was nice, but we had already waited an hour for our food. She smelled it and agreed with us! They didn't offer to remove the food price, so I just didn't tip. Supposedly the manager was supposed to call me the next day, normally I don't make a big deal out of things, but I KNEW this was intentional. AVOID THIS PLACE! and the manager never called me back. read more

We ordered take out. Meatloaf and Chicken Fried Steak. IT WAS HORRIBLE! After a few bites I actually spit it out. The meatloaf couldn't be cut by the plastic fork. In fairness, our dogs kinda liked it. We will never go to a Village Inn again. I feel ripped off. read more
