I am so upset. I took this item in 8/19, picked it up on 8/25, today is 8/27. - I bought this sweater (8/16) and immediately (when I had my next day off, (8/19)) took it to the dry cleaners to get cleaned and ready for wear. Last night (8/26) I wore it for the first time and noticed there is chipping on multiple of the buttons. Note: no I didn't think to inspect the quality of my dry cleaning when I picked it up, via the drive through (8/25) Of course when I put it on last night it was 9pm and I was in SF. I called first thing this morning (8/27) and explained. I came in and the man would not hear me through and started yelling at me. I said verbatim "is this an appropriate decorum to speak to your guest?" (Keep in mind another guest was in the store). He pretty much told me They are not responsible for the buttons? Who is then, if he is the owner?????? He told me he will take my contact information and someone will contact me NEXT TUESDAY 9/2. Why would I trust you to fix my garment if you ruined it and dismissed me? - also he kept saying this has been worn". YES? I literally said, as I was putting it on I noticed the damage. I commute to work, and just bring my dry cleaning in the plastic until I'm about to use it. Again no I didn't think to inspect the dry cleaning as I received it as, I don't unpack it until I wear it as I just iterated. And again it was 9pm (and I was in sf), I couldn't just call, but I did call this morning when I woke up. I caught them on Saturday morning and they're training a new person which is great you gotta have patience for training because you want to be trained on your job. Just be patient. This is the price tag. I got for six items which are two shirts one slacks one long, white coat, and two dresses $88.90 one of those dresses just a regular cotton white dress that I wear for a uniform that could've been washed, but I became lazy and didn't want to iron it. They charge me $24 for that one dress. I bet you next time I learn the iron. Service required on my long white coat because it's something I went on for Sunday and the neck part of the coat need to be extra clean because of a stain on it. read more

First let me say that they did a pretty good job with other employees in the past. This time I did a taper and a hem on a pair of jeans I paid good money for. I had the measurements right. I had thought but the husband who took my measurements the other day seemed to understand me. But he miscommunicated with me. I came back and the hem was way too short. I asked if they could make it right, but the wife argued with me. She wouldn't even give me a discount or a few dollars off the price for the bad work. It was all my fault, and none of theirs, according to her. I wished her a good day, but I could tell she was inflamed and talking bad about me in her language. Less than great. Edit: it also occurs to me that I paid more for the hem/taper than they typically ask. The alterations typically start at around seventeen dollars. I also had called in a week before for pricing for the hem. If I remember correctly, it was an additional twenty dollars or so and my subtotal was a few bucks higher overall. read more

The gentleman who answered the phone was so helpful, and gave me a good price for a new box and to have my dress professionally re-boxed. I immediately went over and dropped off my dress. The gentleman said it would be ready for pick up on Monday, which was great because I was expecting it to take like a week. Later in the day he gave me a call and said it was ready to be picked up! I went back and the owner was there this time too. I think it's a family owned business, and these two people were just so nice and made me feel so welcomed and taken care off. I went to Village Cleaners again after my local cleaner closed. I dropped off uniforms for work that have creases pressed in the front. I have never had to request that these are pressed in... When I questioned why on multiple occasions they were not done or half done I received a big attitude from the owners daughter. I also received a patronizing explanation about how I should always request this when dropping off the uniforms. My only response is that if the uniform does not look correct by anyone's standard, it is probably not right. I was needing my brothers military uniform cleaned and pressed before Saturday as I am preparing to make him a shadow box with the uniform in it.
