Cheeseburger, Sweet Potato Fries & Onion Rings
Darelle G.

It's been a few years since I have been to Village Burger Bar but I was in the area and wanted to grab a quick lunch. The restaurants was pretty empty but it was late afternoon, so I wasn't expecting it to be busy! I walked up to the counter and was able to order right away. After receiving my drinks, I decided to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the nice spring weather. Food arrived about 10 mins later. The onion rings were my favorite item of the meal. The sweet potato fries were good as well. The burger was good but it did taste like a frozen beef patty so I was a bit and about that because I remembered their burgers being a better quality. The frozen margarita was yummy and refreshing! I would return for the sides and drinks and try a different sandwich or a salad next time!

2024 Yelp 100 Challenge - #27 June 2024 - MARGARITA FRIDAY Visited during lunch on margarita Friday. It is a cute burger shop where you order at the counter and receive a number to be placed on your table. Service Everyone was friendly and shared their favorite items on the menu, and our food was up in no time. We ordered their blue cheese burger and the dougie with a shareable order of truffle fries. Our burgers were great! Look at how perfect this bun was! Forgive the photo of the sweet potato fries as I was almost done with them. Both tasted excellent. Service was fast and for the food being to go. The placed looked awesome inside but were in a rush to get home and eat. 10/10.

Best be very hungry as the burgers are HUGGEEE. Need to cut them with steak knife to get them in eatable size. We got their cheddar burger each and small order of sweet potato fries. More than enough. We haven't been here in years as there as so many good places to eat in Collin county. Must try to get back sooner than later. Fast service. Good crowd for weekday lunch.

Village Burger is my top choice for a delicious burger and sweet potato fries. The meat and buns are always fresh, and they offer great options. My favorites are the blue cheese and Swiss N Shroom cheeseburgers--absolutely delicious!

Panini
Beryl D.

One of my favorite burger joints. I personally love the southwest turkey burger and garlic Parmesan shoestring fries with jalapeño aoli. More recently, I tried the panini. It was to die for... and a little less expensive than a burger and fries. The service is fast and it's usually a little packed in there as far as ambience. Best to have someone hold a table while another person places the order.

It was late Saturday night and we were starving. We happened to be in the area so my friend, Jay, recommended we pop out to this burger place. I'm usually not the first to recommend going to a burger place since I don't eat beef. However, this place was a nice surprise. It was really nice that they had the game on so I could watch some PAC-12 games and just relax. The guy who took my order was very nice and he recommended the portobello mushroom burger, so I went with that. I've had portobello burgers from other places before and my main critique is that they get so soggy and messy after only a few bites because the mushroom is so juicy. This wasn't the case here and i was able to eat it without the entire thing falling apart in my hands. Yay! The truffle fries were good, but I definitely think you can get better fries from other places like Hopdoddy's. Overall, I had a great time here, they're open late, and the food was very reasonably priced. It's worth checking out if you're looking for a solid burger and fries!

Absolutely fantastic!!! This place has some of the best food and the best service everything was super tasteful and amazing the environment was fun and friendly and the best staff member by far was Hunter he was attentive and humorous we will definitely be returning for the awesome food and service!

Build your own burger and fries
John C.

Ordered a build your own burger and fries. The burger was cooked a perfect medium rare as ordered. The burger was very juicy with all the correct toppings except that they added lettuce, which wasn't a big deal. The shoestring French fries were also cooked and seasoned nicely. I will definitely be back as not many places cook burgers correctly when you order medium rare. The inside is small with a couple of TVs. They have a very nice patio which was crowded in a nice afternoon. The bartender was very attentive in taking my order and changing the TV as requested Very good experience!!!

Chicken Pesto Shoestring Fries

Chicken Pesto Shoestring Fries I ended up ordering the regular fries and seasoned them myself a little more . Not bad , eat the sandwich immediately or it won't have the same magic

Easy menu, good food, good vibes. Burger tasted delicious. The wait staff was friendly and the shoe string fries are awesome and crispy. They have a decent happy hour so check them out. I am coming back to try different burgers. Also, you can build your own and have a few beers on tap. Place was clean and overall I had a pleasant experience. Go get yourself a beer and a burger!

We've been here multiple times, but honestly it's so inconsistent. Sometimes the burgers are overly greasy and other times they are fine.

We've been to other RG locations and this was similar to those. It wasn't overly busy, so we were promptly helped. We started with the $6 HH special, Rattlesnake, which is a frozen marg with sangria swirl. It was heavenly! And at $6, sign me up for two! The burgers were as expected, fantastic. The ranch house was impeccable with that bacon/onion jam. Wish I had another. The fries, both sweet potato and regular were quite crispy and seasoned well. The atmosphere is super laid back and casual, which we liked--but just a heads up, this isn't the place to go if you're in a hurry. They definitely take their time. There's a ton of seating both inside and outside, and the space itself is pretty fun. The decor is entertaining and they even have some little games around, which adds to the vibe. Everything felt clean--the tables were well taken care of and the bathrooms were spotless. As for food, we ordered the Blue Goat, the H.L. Hunt, the Royale with Cheese, and the cheese fries (No Surprise). I had the Blue Goat (no onions). It was good overall, though I wish the blue cheese flavor was a bit stronger. My husband got the H.L. Hunt and really enjoyed the candied bacon. Our son had the Royale with Cheese and it filled him up so much that he didn't even touch fries--and he loves fries, so that says a lot. Speaking of fries, the order was HUGE--easily enough for 5-6 people. If we come back, I'd definitely dig into those first while the cheese is still warm and gooey. By the time we got to them after our burgers, everything had kind of stuck together. Overall, a fun, casual spot with solid burgers and massive portions--just plan for a slower-paced experience.

The restaurant itself has a real cool hip vibe, definitely up my alley. I ordered myself the beer cheese-steak (with fries) and a blue sapphire cocktail - these. were. AMAZING! They even have a "micro brewers menu" aka kids menu, my son chose the mini smashburgers with chips. He loved it so much, there was nothing left on his plate at the end. They have a bunch of board games available to use while dining so my son and I grabbed a Jurassic Park matching game, this was a super fun activity to do together while munching away. We had a wonderful time here and will surely be back soon. :)

I'll start with the positives, this location has so much potential! I love that there's a brewery…read moreright on Main Street. What a fantastic addition to the community. The decor and theme are inspired by New Orleans/Creole/Cajun vibes, and it's beautifully put together. The layout of the location is a slight "L" shape, so seating can be a bit limited during busy times. It's a seat-yourself setup, and they provide QR codes at the tables for you to place your order and pay when you're ready. Now, onto the food and service. Unfortunately, the wait for both food and drinks were longer than expected, even as the rush began to die down. Our pretzel appetizer didn't arrive until near the end of our meal, and sadly, it was overcooked. Drinks The beer was great and a definite highlight of the experience. Here's what we ordered: Appetizers Giant Pub Pretzel ($13.99): A 12.05 oz pretzel served with signature beer cheese and beer mustard. Unfortunately, this dish was a disappointment. Despite being called "Giant," the pretzel was thin, and was a bit overcooked. While we enjoyed the beer cheese, the beer mustard could have stayed in the kitchen. Loaded Broccoli ($8.99): Steamed broccoli seasoned with Cajun spices, topped with melted cheese and your choice of chicken, beef, or pulled pork. I chose chicken, which was delicious and well-seasoned. However, the cheese was a huge letdown, it had an odd, roux-like texture and flavor that nearly made the dish inedible. Entrée Voo-Dill Pickle Pizza ($12.99): Made with roasted garlic pesto, fresh mozzarella, thick-cut pickles, and a special Voo-Dill seasoning. While the concept was intriguing, the execution fell short. The pizza crust was undercooked, and the pickles seemed like they were added at the very end instead of being baked with the pizza. The garlic pesto was the highlight of this dish. Desserts -King Cake Slice ($3.XX): Clearly store-bought and not made in-house. It also took a while to reach our table, which was odd considering it's pre-packaged. The kitchen area even had the King Cake box visible. Beignets ($7.99): Over-fried and served with icing that was overly lemony, which overpowered the dish. Side Order Jalapeño Slaw ($2.99): The star of the meal! It had the perfect balance of mayo and vinegar, with a fresh kick from the jalapeños and Cajun spices. I wish I had ordered more! I think this place has a lot of potential. The concept is fantastic, but the kitchen needs improvement. I do plan to return and give it another try because the space and the idea are great. Hopefully, next time the food lives up to the vision!
