Had Viking for a while. Their monthly service is good but when you call for other things such as trapping and the like, you get very bad service. To top it off they charge an arm & leg for bad service. I have canceled my monthly service. They should have taken better care of people who have a premium monthly package. read more

In October 2023 Arkadia Pest Control (now owned by Viking) was hired to eliminate squirrels in the soffits in my home. I paid to have mesh wiring placed in the attic. I called to have a technician come out and learned that Viking now owned Arkadia. I spent over an hour on the phone being bounced from person to person, each one saying I had a balance due from the previous job only to learn the records from Arkadia did not transfer to Viking properly. Each person found the issue and acknowledged it, but would transfer me to someone else who would start the same nonsense. I spoke to a Supervisor who was totally rude. All they were concerned about was collecting the $79 tech visit fee. Initially, I provided a 1 star rating based on the above. Subsequently, I was contacted by Management at Viking who offered to have a Tech come out at no extra charge to reevaluate the issue and provide support. Based on this I had updated my review, however, I am now receiving notices that I have an outstanding balance. As of May 8, 2024 I Viking's order processing system still shows me as delinquent (BTW - I never previously received late notices). Obviously, Viking Management did nothing but pay lip service. They failed to correct their records and continue to harass the customer even after proof of payement made in 2023 was provided. Let's not forget I paid to remediate squirrels in my attic yet continue to have a problem. Failure to deliver services, failure to maintain proper system records, and failure to deal with customers effectively. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM!!! read more

We contracted with Viking to deal with carpenter ants and camel (also known as cave) crickets. Unfortunately, their primary concern is rodent control. When our contract came up for renewal, the cost increased by over 20% and we called to cancel. Viking promised to reduce the monthly charge to the original price which lasted one month, then the monthly charge reverted to the new (higher) figure. We called and cancelled effective 9/30/2023. When we checked our credit card on 10/1, we saw a pending charge from Viking for another month. Seeing as it was a Saturday, we expected the charge to be removed. But on Monday, it was posted. When we called the office, we were informed that it would remain until we returned their rat detector sensor (which was CONSTANTLY reporting activity erroneously) We think their attitude is an insult to our character, insinuating we wouldn't return their equipment, either to benefit us or harass them. Finally, we had another pest control company in the past and their service included a technician that performed a monthly inspection and acted accordingly. Viking only comes out when requested and subjects you to the standard 4 hour window. BTW, we still have the carpenter ants . read more

I am sorry it took so long to post, but life and all the mayhem of the pandemic years got in the way. I just thought a job well done should always be recognized, no matter how long after it is done. We have been using Viking for several years and have a contract in place extra fees to cover stink bugs. During the last six weeks. They have come out at least three times for stink bugs even though we have repetitively said they are returning the next day, whatever they are doing is not working. I sent an email with a complaint, a tech came out and again still bugs flying around on on all house levels. There is no follow up after a visit to even check and see if the problem has been resolved by their customer service team. read more

Cesar Mercedes came and sprayed our major trees for spotted lantern flies. He said the trees will take in the spray and over the next couple of weeks we will see dead lantern flies on the ground. Well it started on the second day, and each day we see a few more dead ones at the base of the trees. We could not be more relieved, it seems to be working. Thank you Cesar for explaining everyrhing to us and doing a thorough job. It wasnt cheap but well worth it to save our very mature shade trees! read more

I'm impressed by the professionalism of the Viking team. They did an excellent job with my recent termite control service. The all year service which includes Tick and Mosquito service is really making the yard more comfortable this summer. Jon Bacote, the application specialist who recently did the monthly service did an excellent job and also let me know when it was safe to let my dog out. The technician team is local but you can't reach them if you have an issue. We have used Viking for the last couple of years on an annual contract. Their service is ok, but I didn't feel like it was a necessary monthly charge. Decided to cancel and had a terrible week attempting to get in touch with them. There is no local number - you get sent to a call center. Then they say they will have the local Denville branch call. Took three calls to the 800 number to get the local branch to call back. Once you finally reach the local branch they are very nice. And the technicians have been nice and seem competent. But not acceptable to not be able to talk to a local person if you have an issue. read more

Do NOT trust Viking Pest Control! They billed my account for services never rendered, then held the account balance while continuing to bill for other services. I then requested to cancel our account and get refunded the balance, and they never followed through. They then continued to charge me monthly fees, and still had not refunded me as agreed to. I finally have confirmation my account is cancelled, and still have not received any confirmation of refund of my account balance or additional monthly fees totaling over $250. Horrible customer service that is clearly overseas (all with thick accents and no understanding of the company). Takes long hold times to speak with someone in USA. Also very limited scheduling options. read more

Do not use this company!!!! Beware they will try and rip you off! They took over Merlin Pest Control and did not even notify their customers. Their contracts are very deceiving. I had called for stink bugs but found out that I wasn't covered and that I had to pay an additional fee of almost $500! Every time you call up someone tells you something different. I would not recommend this company to anyone!! I will be calling the Better Business Bureau because something shady is definitely going on. read more

I got services from Viking pest control, Denville and am very happy with them. Excellent customer service. They responded to my messages promptly within the hour of opening office and sent someone right away to take care of my issues. No matter if its a scheduled visit or like today an emergency call, the office responded to my message at 8:10am (they open at 8), and someone was at my house before 9. They are courteous, they know their job well and I will highly recommend this team. The guys are very professional, always wear shoe covers, take care of the issue without any interruption in the house, and check everything well. They spend enough time that's required and never rush to finish their job. They advised us what we need to do as homeowners to avoid such issues in future. WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They do not come, when you call to complain, they make you feel like it is your problem. Hung up on me. The most rude, if you want to call it customer service, people I have ever encountered. I have the Viking Convenience Plan Plus, they have not come out once in over 8 months. When I called to complain, they were annoyed. Reluctantly sent someone out, and he complained the entire time he was here and argued with me that I was wrong. I called to cancel, they told me I would have a cancellation fee, I asked what their fee was for breach of contract as they have not serviced per the contract as they are supposed to, and SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!! incredible, this place is in business. Call a local company, DO NOT USE VIKING. I have MORE bugs in my home than I did when I first moved in and that was after this house had been vacant for over 2 years! UGH. We recently called Viking to come asses our home for a bee issue. We decided to go with the year long contract, and have had a good experience so far with the techs. The only complaint I have is that they seem to have some issues on the scheduling end of things. I have had to place several phone calls to find out when I need to be home for services and the service dates written on my contract were changed without notifying me. They said I would receive an e-mail before the service was completed but unfortunately that did not happen. read more
