Viking built a new home for me in Rathdrum and it was completed in early March. The process was absolutely wonderful! They had a great selection of exterior colors to choose from and I got to upgrade the interior features that were important to me and even add outlets to the house in critical spaces. Great Floors had a great selection of flooring, backsplash and countertops to choose from! The house truly felt like it was a custom build since the interior layout was perfect for me! I was renting nearby so I got to watch almost every step of the build process when I drove by. Viking was extremely gracious and set up appointments with my realtor so that I could walk through and take photographs after it was framed and the electric had been wired etc. It was refreshing to see how careful Viking was to make sure that everything was super clean before the closing! Viking has taken excellent care of me! I noticed a small chip in a shower and we noticed something that had been missed on our inspection and they sent out service teams within days to fix it. I had a few other small issues and again-someone was out in a couple of days to address them. One of them wasn't part of the contract and it wasn't strictly required but they took care of it for me! I plan on having this as my forever home (retired), and I'm loving this experience so far! read more

I contracted with Viking Const to build a home. The negotiation was handled through Mike Green Realtor. Prior to signing I had asked if all the cabinets come with 100% opening drawers (this was a huge issue with me) and was assured by Mike that they did. In the final walk through I noticed they weren't. Viking and Mike Green refused to fix the problem. I now have to pay $2500.00 to fix the problem. read more

We purchased a Viking home in Rathdrum. Our home is barely 2 years old. Before our 1 year inspection, We tried to have them fix the grout in kitchen and bathroom and they did such a sloppy job. It looks like a child did it and it is cracking again. They also damaged our door frame to the garage when we tried to have them fix the gap in the garage door. They made it worse. Once you hit a year... they do not cover anything or care about the quality of their homes or the work they do. and everything breaks after 1 year because they use the cheapest materials and the worst contractors. The AC unit makes a loud noise. We contacted Viking and they won't do anything. The contractors do not fix anything either after 1 year. Our outlets throughout the home have stopped working. They do not care. Do not buy a Viking home! read more

So far, the inside of the house is ok with the exception of a few things. The air conditioning unit outside is so loud we hate to be out there when it's on. If you don't upgrade, ACCORDING TO THE A/C company, the motor is not wrapped with the a blanket and the unit makes noise. We weren't given that option but it sounds more like a bearing is going out. Then, outside landscaping is another matter. Our property was not leveled properly and the fence sits four to eight inches above the soil in the backyard. Why would you have a fence with a huge gap at the bottom? We have landscaped but there is still space where our landscape and our neighbors bleed over to each other under the fence. We had to to build a dry rock river to accommodate all the flooding when it rains or snow melts. We get a small lake everytime it rains. It is very wet and mucky with tons of rocks. It's incredibly hard to plant in. Viking cannot close on a house unless the "landscaping" in the front yard is finished. We closed at the beginning of Dec 2024. They put five pitiful plants in a row and left one in its pot and not truly planted. They threw down grass seed in Dec which sprouted in May with tons of weeds. BTW, a family member bought across the street from us. Turns out most of the back yard is a steep slope. It is not landscaped and you must landscape with a retaining wall or you will have mud on your patio as the slope erodes. In addition, retaining walls are expensive and buyers are not told about the slope.​​ Viking will also charge you $400-450 for any changes that may be needed if something doesn't match. You have to pick cabinets before you have an appointment to decide flooring. It's hard to pick and match without seeing anything first. It's only a click of the a button for them, not Rocket Science. Viking built me a good home at what is now a reasonable price. I'm now 6 months into the house and I'm pleased with the quality. I had an issue with the heating system, but Bill's heating who did the installation responded within 2 hours of my call for help and fixed the issue. For the money, this is a great house. read more

We purchased a spec home in the very beginning stages. I understand you're a production builder but I'd like to encourage you to have a tad more flexibility with your protocol. Having a little flexibility would add so much more to your clients experience. My only complaint is we had 5 bull pine trees in ourr backyard, 3 of which were diseased and had two tops making them very dangerous. Instead of taking them down oroffering to share in the the cost with us, you did NOTHING. It cost us an additional 11,000. Buyers beware. You did accommodate us in taking them down. Other than that, we love oUr home. The quality at this price at this price makes it a great value. The SUPERSTARS for Viking are Supers, Gary and Harold. Both are dynamite and are helpful as much as allowed. I'd like to thank both again for being the highlight of our building experience. read more

Over priced for the quality of home. Viking uses the cheapest quality products and lowest bid subcontractors to make the largest profit possible at your expense. They will just slide things past unaware home owners and cut corners anywhere possible. Inside paint and bedroom doors used instead of outside rated door and paint!! Vinyl siding that is already brittle and within 5 yrs! Drywall has seam marks showing up every where, outside walls constantly make popping sound through out the day. The house is only a few years old and many things are falling apart due to quality of material and workmanship. Everything is lowest cost option. I can't say enough but to run away if you are looking at a Viking home. Our whole community is suffering because of their profit greedy business model and have to pay for constant repairs on our gates due to Viking going with the cheapest option. Gate is broken more than working. We really need to invest in a complete new gate system and Viking should pay for it. It was Viking that bought the cheapest gate they could just so our community would have the title of "gated community" and raise the values of all the homes. --BEWARE BUYERS......We purchased our new home at Sandy Ridge community in Spokane Valley from Viking Homes in 2012 and I caution anyone considering purchasing a Viking Home to STOP! We've finally had enough revelation of what's been going on behind the scenes at Viking Homes in Spokane Wa. to confirm our frustrations & finally post our concerns. Initially it was ONLY poor finish work on the staining of railing with fingerprints and unglued spindles. Called Viking... oh sorry, no we can't refinish the stain. Then a Fire hazard with gas fireplace, heat was causing discoloration of wall above and drywall was hot to touch. Like pulling teeth to get them to add the heat deflector after hubby researched what was necessary and pointed out fire hazard. Months later, at least a year because we discovered it after warranty of course. A bunch of stinky, slimy drywall came up out of shower due to workers pushing it all into drain. Kept cleaning shower and drain trying to figure out what that gross smell was. Had to pay plumber to come flush out the entire system. They also shoved the same drywall & debris into the vents and we had dust coming out of our ears . Had to have the entire HVAC cleaned. Obviously the hired contractors were not concerned with doing a conscientious job. Most recently discovered bathroom sink pipe was cut and glued while installing so we needed to cut it out and install a new pipe just to retrieve a small item that had gone down drain. Where was the oversight by Viking? There is debris from current construction projects in our neighborhood that they don't pick up. Contract workers have left things like broken ladders down behind property so they don't have to dispose of them. - Contractors building the homes are from Idaho (paid less $$) and may not be licensed. That is why new homeowners are stuck with messes to clean up inside and outside their homes. OK... now onto Viking and their incestuous NuVu Homeowners Association that should never have been given keys to the Kingdom or checkbook!. We don't even know the extent of their unethical business practices. But this is what I know. They always cleared the books at the end of year. They would not give us a full accounting of expenses. They didn't build a reserve. NuVu stated at a homeowners meeting when asked about a reserve that there was no reserve until Sandy Ridge was completely built.$480 x 70 homes x 10 years = $$$ Viking and NuVu never filed taxes with the IRS (2008 - 2017).More has come to light since we now have our own governing BOD who are trying to clean up their mess. Viking is still building the last homes, and because they have been negligent in keeping up the roads and cracked sidewalks from heavy equipment there is talk that we, the homeowner will need to cough up $$$ to repair. But with what? There is little reserve thanks to NuVu management practices. NuVu was/is not qualified to manage a HOA. They only manage apartments in Idaho. The property manager (not an attorney) is the granddaughter and daughter of Viking owners. need I say more:) - NuVu hired contractors (lawn maintenance, snow removal, gate maintenance) that didn't do a good job. They were padding each other's pockets we suspect. For other Viking Home Communities who still have NuVu running your rodeo... be proactive & hold their feet-to-the-fire! read more

Good price and ok home. HORRIBLE customer service. Since the beginning we have had horrible customer service from Viking. Either not contacting us, not answering our questions, or hiding information. Since moving in multiple things had to be fixed or refinished. You can tell cheap workers were hired to do a fast job. And their warrenty for the first year, good luck getting them to come out. We have had a half painted door for over a month. We put in request through the website and never get contacted. We ended up getting things fixed ourselves. read more

We just moved into our new home at Twin Bridges. Mandy at the Design Center, Dawn at Twin Bridges and Cost Less Carpet were very accomodating and available any time we had questions or wanted to make a selection change (Cost Less Carpet). Dawn responsed to my emails and texts within a couple of hours every time I had a question. Gabe did a fantastic job on our final walk and within 3 days had everything we noted corrected. The quality of the house is fantastic. It closed a day early and although 8 months seemed like a long time every week there was alot accomplished at the house. She was there for us every step of the way from purchasing, selection, construction and even after home completion. She really took a lot of the stresses away of home buying/ building. Whenever we had a question or a problem she was right on top of things. If she didn't have an answer, she found one... and quickly! Second, was our site Foreman Gabe! He is awesome! He kept us informed daily. If any problems came up, which there just are in building, he did everything in his power to make things right. Recently purchased our enclave. The design was great! The lady that did the walkthrough with us was amazing and actually found more little flaws than we did and marked every one of them. Just very minor cosmetic stuff. It was all fixed before closing. They worked with us very well on adjusting our closing day so we could start moving in on a friday. Shortly after moving in one of their finish guys stopped buy to see if there was anything he could do. We had found a couple minor things and they were all fixed the next day. Everything with this has been smooth and exceeded our expectations. We couldn't be happier. Will update this review as needed but as of right now this has been a great experience!! read more

Don't do it! We've had to tell Viking how to do their job since the moment they started building. To begin with they installed our island BACKWARDS had to bring that up to them even though it was printed correctly on the blueprints and floor plan right in from of them. They installed different cabinets then what we saw in pictures and thought we were getting, which completely changed the cabinet layout in the master bathroom.l, even though it was in the virtual walkthrough and on the blueprints and floor plan. During our initial walkthrough we brought up some things which we though would be easy fixes, such as the garbage drawer that upgraded to add into the island not working properly, along with several soft close drawers in the bathrooms that were not and do not open and close properly. They've had 3 different people come out and look at them, one of which made so that it was completely inoperable. Viking ordered parts for the drawers, and then stated it was a manufacturer issue. The manufacturer came out and said they fixed, but didn't even look at the bathroom drawer that literally falls out every time you open it. The kitchen faucet has been leaking since the initial walkthrough, which even their realtor notices and not a single person has even come to look at it, and we've been in the house for almost 2 months now. They installed the WRONG WATER HEATER. Which they knew about, because a week before closing we went to look at the house and there was a loud beeping from the garage, we didn't think anything of it until the night we moved in and out hot water didn't work. And a loud beeping sound was coming from the garage. Long story short, they had to come shut off the water as it was a safety hazard the way it was installed and install the correct one, since it was not hooked up to the correct gas. They stained the front door which we upgraded to a wood door, the wrong color, and have tried to get out of fixing it, even after admitting it was wrong. They've had to repaint parts of the garage several times simply from not completing it the first time, and again from not cleaning it before painting. The day we moved in the handle for the garage door kept falling off, which we told them about and ended up fixing ourselves because it was so annoying. And these are just a few of things! Save yourself the headache if your contemplating building with Viking! I don't think it's too much to ask that you have working cabinets and water heater when your spending this kind of money. Most of your response to this review is inaccurate. Yes Huntwood came out and looked at the garbage drawer and never once looked at the bathroom drawer. He didn't have the rails to fix the drawer that you guys said you ordered before you decided it was huntwoods issue. And the water heater was the incorrect water heater altogether, which there is documentation of. Yes it was fixed quickly, most likely because it was a major safety hazard, which you guys would've known had you looked into the beeping issues prior to us moving in rather than just resetting the system. The kitchen faucet was NOT replaced according to YOUR Viking representatives we've been dealing with. After the initial walkthrough they said it was TIGHTENED in an attempt to fix it NOT REPLACED. It does not leak only after using the water, it leaks at all times. AFTER BRINGING IT UP AGAIN they started the claim for the faucet two weeks ago and have yet to do or hearing anything more about it since. All of these issues could have been fixed and been relatively minor issues if you guys actually stood by your work and did things right to begin with. The MAJORITY of all these things would not be issues if they had just been DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. read more

We recently moved into a Viking home (may 2016. Twin bridges neighborhood: Prasada). We moved here from California and after looking at homes around the area we quickly realize for about the same price we could have a brand-new home. Overall we are happy with Viking. That's not to say that we didn't have problems but that's just how it goes when building a home no matter who you build it with. Some quality control was frustrating to us but at the end of the day we had a AMAZING realtor ( Amy Parrish highly recommend her!!!) who fought for us and Viking ultimately did the right thing. We are in our house now and absolutely love it! Definitely worth all the ups and downs. Also talking with some of our neighbors I have found they feel the same way. I've heard from quite a few people they would build a Viking home again. Tips: - make sure you get everything in writing! And I mean everything! - double check the selection sheet before you sign them. (We almost had white pickets after I know I said I wanted stained. Thankfully Viking did the right thing and corrected it) - if possible have Viking give you a price for the backyard. It is WAY cheaper than any landscaper will give you. (No joke: We saved $8,000 doing this!) - don't sign the final contract until you have everything you would like pricing for. Once you sign the contract they are done making changes and "working" with you. - if you think something is a "given" chances are it's not. Double check on locations of things, optionts, look etc. - you have the option of doing an electrical walk-through and a lighting fixture meeting if you request them. - you're also able to upgrade appliances if you go directly to Fred's appliances in Spokane Valley. Some neighbors who have the Standard appliances have had a lot of issues. - trust in the contractors. If you check on your home and you see something is wrong wait a few days and chances are they will have it fixed. They are doing a lot of houses and overall they have a pretty good checks and balances. - Your closing date will get pushed! Repeat IT WILL BE PUSHED! (We closed almost 2 months after our original closing date. Our closing date was pushed three times ) We were responsible for the mortgage rate extension, Hotel ( we gave notice to our apartment and was rented out so we had to move into a hotel for a week...was not happy!). A lot of the reviews I see are over quality. If you go to any other builder anywhere you're going to run into the same thing. I have a friend who build Greenstone and had nothing but problems. (Also green stones price per square foot is quite a bit higher!) Now that we are in I have had a few punch items I wanted them to address. ( faulty toilet, electrical plug not working etc.) I called them and they have been out to fix each and every problem to 100%. Granted I called him once a week until they come. The warranty guys are awesome though! They are super busy and could really use some help. However everytime they come out they are very nice and eficient. They are a busy growing company and if you want something done you need to be on them. At the end of the day we absolutely love our home, all the options and are very happy. I would build with Viking again. read more

Leaking pipes and loose flooring are easy fixes that could be done any day of the week while their crews are building a couple blocks away, drafty windows sagging mantel separating sheetrock and faulty gutters are a bit bigger and might need to be scheduled out but Viking doesn't even return calls about warranty issues or to come back to do the thinks they noted for finishing during walkthrough. I don't have room to type half the problems with my house here let alone problems with their realtor (Becky Randals) or other staff lying or just not doing their job. read more

We are still trying to resolve our dissatisfaction with the appearance/changes of our Viking Home in Twin Bridges. Appreciate the work done by most of the Viking team however the refusal to fix an obvious problem with our home's appearance is unacceptable. I would like to begin by quoting from the Viking Builders public website: "As one of the area's largest builders, we understand the importance of customer satisfaction. Our warranty and service program provides you with peace of mind." The appearance of our house & the Viking Tully brochure/pictures we were shown are significantly different. You will immediately notice the elevation of the front of (our) house which creates a huge "red barn" appearance. We are dissatisfied with the extensive red vinyl siding over the garage door. This IS NOT what we were shown & agreed to at the Viking Design center in June 2017. Since Viking senior management may not be aware of the background here is a summary: June 2017: Selected & paid good faith funds for a lot in Twin Bridges neighborhood. The lot required a $8K premium. June 2017: Met with the Viking Design center supervisor for a 4 hour meeting to make option selections on our Tully home. At no time were elevation or significant design changes discussed. July 2017: Returned to Tampa FL. (Note: we were unable to watch the construction of our home as we live 2,800 miles away.) August 2017: We were Contacted by Viking personnel on the necessity of building steps to three entry points to our home. Lost a 3 car garage due to this change. We did not like this but were told it was necessary based on architectural analysis of our lot. AT NO TIME WAS A CHANGE TO THE HOUSE EXTERIOR DISCUSSED. We reluctantly agreed to the steps. February 2018: Agreed to close on our home with the understanding that Viking would fix any remaining problems. During this time we discovered a gas leak from the garage heating unit. When repaired, the heating contractor stated the original installer had not done a correct job & the leak could have lead to a fire/danger to anyone in the house. March 2018: Clearly stated that our home looked significantly different than any Tully depictions we had seen; we are both clearly disappointed that the red vinyl siding is no longer an "accent" but an enlarged red "barn" look. BOTTOM LINE: All we want is for Viking to make this right by adjusting vinyl siding on the front over the garage to approach the presentation of the house we were sold & shown in JUNE 2017. As a 30 year Army Veteran I thought the Viking commitment to "customer satisfaction & peace of mind" was an full/honest commitment to buyers - apparently not This is our planned retirement home. We have consistently cooperated with Viking during the bldg. process; we hope Viking will decide to do the same with my wife & I. read more

I won't bore you with details if would like more specifics just talk to the owner wendall who declined to give me his name and than hung up Me acting like a 2 year old or the superintendent Travis who didn't care of what we had to say to get things fixed before they moved on to the next step, or how about Terry the warrenty man who says everything that needs to be fixed per bad construction or lack of caring is now a courtesy to us to fix their mistakes! I do feel it's necessary for me to write a quick update, as we are at our one year warranty point. I have been dealing directly with Jerry and Dennis and they have been absolutely wonderful to work with. During our one year walk through a couple weeks ago a few things were pointed out. The appointment has already been set up for all those things to be fixed. One week after our walk through we had a horrible wind storm that had heavy snow drifts. This was the first time we've had this kind of weather since living in the home. Well during the storm a few things were noticed that otherwise would have been overlooked had we had "normal" weather. I sent an email to Jerry and, if I'm honest, I thought I would get a "sorry, we already did your one year walk through two weeks ago and we can't do anything about it now" response. Instead, I was contacted by Dennis and he contacted the HVAC company. As I'm writing this the HVAC technician is at my house seeing what needs to be done. Where I still stand behind my initial review because that review was directed towards other Viking employees, I do feel I needed to point out Jerry and Dennis and top shelf men to deal with at Viking. So Viking, if you're reading this, make sure to give those fellas a good pat on the back, a raise, and maybe a few extra days vacation. read more

Had a viking Home built in the Five Mile area (Prairie Breeze) a little over a year ago. We had problems from the get-go. Their sales representative Karen O'Donnell straight up lied to us about our lot. We asked her repeatedly about the slope at the back of our lot, because she told us that our lot would be graded and made level. When we saw this wasn't happening, she assuring us that it would be made level. When the framing started, and we saw the house was only 6 feet from the slope. No backyard! When we spoke with the excavators, they told us there was no plan at all the grade the slope. We ended up having a meeting with a building supervisor, Karen O'Donnell and our realtor at the job site. Karen got all snippy with us, saying she never told us that the lot would be graded an level, we must've misunderstood what she said, and that we must've imagined that our lot would be level! Viking told us that since Karen didn't put this claim about the lot in writing, they weren't obligated to do anything about it. So now we were looking a great expense of having to build a retaining wall to push back the dirt in order to have a backyard! After that we had our realtor deal with Karen. We did not want that liar in our midst. When we got to know a few of our new neighbors, they were also having trouble with Karen, and she told them the same thing about their lots! As of now, we are all having to put in retaining walls. The workmanship has been shoddy to say the least, and they use the cheapest of materials. Every one one of our new neighbors has their own Viking horror story. Viking is in our new neighborhood daily fixing and replacing their bad work and things that are already broken. We have had a leak behind our shower wall in our master bathroom for over a year now. It drips 24/7 and it's loud enough where we have to shut our bathroom door at night so we can sleep. Viking has been out three times and we still have no resolve. We are really worried about mold or water damage. There seems to be no hurry on Viking's part to resolve this issue. The problem has been narrowed down to the furnace; some kind of condensation is dripping when the heater is on. Still waiting to get that fixed. Our stone veneer on the front of our house has fallen off twice so far, still waiting on that. Our water valve to turn our sprinklers on and off is so deep in the ground (8+ feet) that we can't get anyone to turn our sprinklers on. All the paint is peeling off the side garage door. Our kitchen tile already has cracks in it. Our shower in the guest bath has wide cracks in the grout. We just has a bedroom wall fixed that had screws poking out. We know that there always things that aren't going to go right with a new home. But we believe the biggest problem is that Viking is in no hurry to fixed them. that is the sad part. For a lot of the younger folks, this is their first home and all their savings and hard earned money went into purchasing their homes. I could have went a lot smoother for them if Viking stood up to their customer service claims. I have two suggestions if you are contemplating a Viking Home: 1: Get your own realtor! Viking realtors are working for Viking, not for you. 2. Viking has in their contract that you are not allowed to visit or inspect your new home during the building process. Do it anyway! Go at a minimum of at least 2-3 times per week. All of us in this neighborhood have caught so many serious mistakes and were able to catch them in time. We all just came in the evening when the builders were gone, so we didn't disturb them. Viking has some of the best floor plans. They just need to be supervised from beginning to end when you choose them as your builder. read more

My husband and I are extremely satisfied with our Viking Home in Post Falls! We understand the construction business and you will never have perfection. With that said, we are in a wonderfully built home. From the very start we were involved in the construction of our home; everyone of the contractors we came into contact with were more than willing to answer our questions and concerns. This spring (2016) we paid full price for one of the most expensive houses in the development. The foreman rushed us through our walk-through, told us not to worry about things like electrical, and assured us that everything would be handled before we closed. Once we finally got our keys to move in, we parked our U-Haul in the driveway on a rainy day and opened up the garage - the floor was still caked with mud (had been addressed in our walk-through). On moving in, we found plenty of blue tape where we had marked cosmetic areas to be fixed - still there, not fixed. One of our screens was bent and we had asked about it on our walk through - still not fixed. We had asked for our property line to be marked so we could put our fence in. I've asked about that four more times now over the past 4 months and it still isn't done. Our central air came on, but the AC unit wouldn't come on - turns out it was never actually wired in; I'm not sure how that passed the inspection for certificate of occupancy. Once we fired up our AC, it was short-cycling - turns out the filter was full of drywall dust and hadn't been changed out after they were done with the build. Our sprinkler system was a joke. They landscaped our front yard with 4 zones. Our backyard was about 6x the square footage of the front yard and they only used a 7-zone wire (leaving us just 3 zones for the entire backyard), so I had to buy another $100 worth of sprinkler wire and trench it to the opposite side of the house to have enough zones to control my backyard sprinklers. There was zero though put into our overall electrical and our sprinkler planning and multiple neighbors I've spoken with feel the same way. I've lost count of how many of my neighbors complain about run-off from their neighbors' packed clay yard - since all of the topsoil was stripped off all of our lots and never put back. I've got a neighbor who expressed concern about needing a sump pump if his crawlspace flooded and the foreman told him he wouldn't need a sump pump... turns out several of the surrounding houses had already been retrofitted with them. Overall I think our house will be okay in the long run, but I can already see lots of things I'm going to have to repair or replace long before I should, and our concrete already has small cracks in it - including my garage slab. It feels like they're throwing houses up as fast as they can and moving on to the next. Their warranty department is slow to respond, and I think their foreman is flat out dishonest and lazy. If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't choose Viking. read more

They don't back up any of there work done by them or their sub contractors. The warranty department is a joke, you have to contact a girl named Emily who has the power to do nothing. So you end up waiting 5 months to get your request denied. They do use the cheapest sub contractors they can find, and it shows in the "finished" product. Do your research and find a different builder if you are able to. read more

We moved into our new Viking Home in late July of 2016. We had some issues as one would expect in a new home. We have had both the stove and the microwave go out, we had no power in either bathroom because they put the ground fault outlet in backwards, we had a bowed wall because they tried to put a 5 inch dryer vent tube into a 2X4 wall and then covered it with sheet rock, we ordered an oversized garage so we could put the boat in it only to find that they measured outside to outside so the boat still did not fit, we had flooring that was damaged from the factory but they put it in anyway, but probably the most concerning is the quality of the concrete they use and the contractor they use to pour it. The concrete on our patio, parts of our driveway and inside the garage is all chipping and flaking due to using bad product and poor craftsmanship by their concrete subcontractor Allen at Stone-Crete, Inc. To make matters worse when we contacted Viking about fixing the concrete issues they sent out Allen from Stone-Crete, Inc. to inspect his own work. He said that their was no quality issues and accused us of using salt on our concrete surfaces which is not true. He told me what a great concrete guy he is and how he has been pouring concrete for over 15 years and he is the best. I asked him well if that is true then why are their at least 10 driveways out of 25 homes in our Crosby Landing Development that all have flaked and chipping concrete. He said they all used de-ice or salt of some kind. I have had several other concrete professionals inspect our damage and they all say that the flaking and chipping is caused by using to wet of concrete mixture which makes it easier for the contractor to work with saving him time and money. Not one other concrete professional blamed it on chemical. Wouldn't it be nice if every time you make a mistake at your job or get a bad grade in your school work if you could be the judge and the jury and blame it on someone else? Viking is all about selling and inferior product for a premium price then leaving the expense of fixing their mistakes for their CUSTOMER to absorb. They claim they are all about Customer Service. If you want to see for yourself check out the driveways in the Crosby Landing Development off of Adams Between Mission and Broadway in the Spokane Valley. If I was to do it over I would definitely pick a different builder and your should also to save yourself a lot of pain and suffering. read more

DON'T USE VIKING BUILDERS!! We had the Victoria floor plan built in the summer of 2015. I wasn't a huge fan of Viking from hearing negative reviews over the past 15 plus years, but we decided to use them anyways due to the location. Well, that was a mistake. We've had issues with just about everything and now we're past the warranty phase and are still having issues we now have to pay for out of our pocket! Let me list examples: there was overspray paint on the wood floors from where the trim was painted. We had to get down on hands and knees with a razor blade to scrape it off. Outlet plates and heat vents are not square and loose. The sprinkler lines were placed outside our property lines (found out when we installed a fence) They didn't sweep the subfloor before installing the carpet. When you walk around without shoes, you can feel all the debris. The carpet was cut short in places and had staples sticking up. Ouch! One of the lower base kitchen cabinets wasn't fastened to the wall. When they built the house next door to us, they didn't grade it low enough so all their water drains into our yard. Our concrete driveway cracked along with some of the exposed aggregate ribbon. The first winter the driveway came up about an inch at the base where it meets the garage and has since cracked. One of our large windows had a broken seal and had to be replaced. The paint on the man door and trim on the side of the garage peeled off after six months. There's no vent screens to keep birds and other animals out. We are missing some covers to the crawl space vents. The garage door quit working. There was a loose wire that wasn't fastened. The furnace they installed isn't large enough for the size of the house. The quest bedroom hardly gets any airflow. It's freezing in the winter and hot in the summer if you don't keep the door open all the time. Viking just said it's the longest run from the furnace. Unacceptable! Viking doesn't have street lights, instead they have individual yard lights. Well, ours is possessed. It only comes on once in a blue moon. We've changed the bulb, so it must be a faulty (cheep) light fixture or POOR wiring. The electrical line is underground across the whole front yard so I'm sure it's going to be quite the mess to fix if it's the wiring and not the fixture. The worst thing I feel, we had a GAS LEAK since the first day we moved in. It was behind the stove/range. I don't know how we made it this long with out blowing up! Avista was nice enough to fix that for us. If you are planning on using Viking home, ask questions, babysit the contractors, get everything in writing and make sure to get you're 1 year final walk through. Something that wasn't communicated to us. We learned from a neighbor after the fact. Also, if you're wanting to build in any of their developments off Barker Road in Greenacres, be prepared for all the traffic. It's only a 2 lane road and traffic gets backed up from the stop sign at Sprague. When church is out on Sundays, be prepared to wait awhile, a very long while. They have an off-duty police officer directing traffic to accommodate all the church goers. Yet, Viking is now building another 55 homes in Morningside Heights for 2018 (that's at least another 110 cars) and another phase of Twin Bridges is going in on South Barker. More and more I'm sure before there's no more land to develop. Say goodbye to all of our wildlife! There are so many builders out there. Choose wisely. read more
