I REALLY like it here. In fact, I wear their sweatshirt that I purchased from this place regularly. Their coffee is very tasty, baristas are very nice, shop is super cute. Makes me wish I lived close-by so I could come and study! They offer pastries and other things outside of coffee that I've never tried, but hope to try someday. I'll definitely be back. My first experience at Viking Brew was a great one. walking down the strip of shops in poulsbo is my favorite thing to do with visitors. This little coffee stand is just a window on the corner passed the toy store. It's a little hidden gem. The woman helping us was kind and helpful. She let us know what they had, what she liked, was quick and made a great drink! My love for white Mochas is strong, but only if they use the power not the syrup, which they do! This has always been a favorite, even before we moved to the area. It's actually my husbands all-time favorite in Kitsap County- and he is quite a "coffee connoisseur"! We love the flavor of the beans, which I found out are always very freshly roasted from a local company; we always buy a bag of coffee when we come here. Odd. Walking in, we immediately noticed that the muffins in the case were from Costco. I'd expect better from a place with nearby bakeries. The chalkboard menus were all empty, so there was no indication of any drinks available or the prices. When asked, the barista was very vague about what drinks they serve, and when asked if they have any seasonal drinks she said no, but they have pumpkin and caramel and stuff on hand. My partner ordered a vanilla latte that was mediocre, milky, and gave him a stomachache. I ordered a tea, and the barista opened the foil packet and pulled out the teabag with unwashed hands while she was ringing us up. I didn't end up drinking it because the handling made me uncomfortable; but I'm sure I can find the tea, Stash Chai Spice, at Safeway. The location is super cute and I've seen rave reviews, so I was disappointed and confused. Maybe we caught them in a transitional time. read more

We stopped by on a quick trip to Poulsbo and were delighted. The coffee is AMAZING (especially the salted caramel latte, mmm!) and the barista staff is kind, knowledgable, and talented. Every time we walked or drove by the coffee stand, there was a bustling line of happy customers, which is always a good sign of great coffee in a small town. It's also the safest place in town, as far as COVID concerns go -- they have no actual "cafe" (it's just a walk-up window) and there is plexiglass to cover the entire opening. We loved the shop and will definitely visit again next time we are in Poulsbo! read more

If I could give less then one star I would. As someone who owns 3 businesses in our town, 1 of which is a VERY successful coffee house, I am shocked and appaled about the HORRIBLE customer service we received tonight. From asking the barista if she could please pour some of my americano out to add the extra cream and whip cream I asked for when ordering because upon handing me my cup it was missing, and her telling me "she didn't have to dump any out" To them forgetting my sugar free red bull and when I let them know we were still waiting for it, the other girl, clearly a manager, said we didn't pay for it, I said oh we ordered it, the first girl said "no, you asked if we had sugar free red bull" So I ordered one again, the first girl then rang me up for an entire spritzer, costing 6.25 for a can, I asked if that was the price for just a can, the manager came over and said no, and was going to refund me, while starting the process of refunding me, I let her know that the girl who helped me treated us rudely, that girl then proceeded to, in front of us at the espresso machine, start shaking her head and laughing at us, WOW! I pointed it out to her manager that she is now laughing at me as you can see, that manager, then called me a Karen told me i was raising my voice, I wasn't, put her boss on speaker phone, proceeded to yell at me, put the camera on me so her boss could see, pointing the phone at me, her other boss came in, heard her cuss at me, she thew my credit Card at me, AT. ME. ON. THE GROUND. Repeatedly yelling at me, badgering me, horrible, ALLLLLLL while these bosses did nothing, my mom had to record the whole thing because it was so shocking!!! Never in our lives have we been treated like this. NEVER under any circumstances is it ok to laugh at a customer, cuss at them or call them names, NEVER. This place should be absolutely ashamed. I will post on social media also and I expect an absolute apology. This whole process was stressful, embarrassing for me and especially for a small business in these times that should be about unity and absolutely shockingly insane the owners would allow this, especially in front of them. First time grabbing beer from their indoor location. I always love grabbing stuff from them. Their flavors are solid and they make a lovely coffee. The new spot is nice. I have not been back to Poulsbo in a long time. A lot has changed since then. As I visited the waterfront, and the local shops off of Jensen, I came across Viking Brew and got a coffee and scone. The scone was not the best, much to improve here. The scone looked and tasted over done. As the coffee was alright. There were other menu choices that were much more appealing like their Avocado Toast menu items. Maybe a choice from this menu would add 1 or 2 more stars. Other amenities (ie bathrooms) were not available. As with any business, these are kind of necessary. I am sure there was an explanation. read more

Arrived here at 4:45 pm, fifteen minutes before their 5:00 pm closing time and was turned away and told they were already closed. Disappointed but it actually turned into a blessing in disguise because we ended up at Hotshots Java Coffeehouse which is a few minutes down the road across the street, and they had a really delicious iced dark chocolate mocha with a cute complimentary chocolate stick. Hotshots Java Coffeehouse also has a 5:00 pm closing time and we got there about five minutes before but were still welcomed warmly. read more

I absolutely love Viking Brew. I've never been much of a coffee drinker, but during a month-long business trip to Washington, I found myself at Viking Brew very often. First off, the staff is extremely nice and quick. Every time I go to Viking there is a line; however, the single person that works each shift clears out the line quick. The nitro brew is definitely a hit. I drank it 3 or 4 times a week and the name doesn't lie. It had me buzzing all day long. Add a little bit of sugar free hazelnut syrup and you have yourself a very tasty and energetic treat. read more

A for ambience! RIP to a pleasant indoor, sit down area and inviting, outdoor patio in good weather. A wonderful gathering place now closing (a notice says they will go back to being the coffee window across the street.) But Poulsbo needs to really take a look at why businesses are shuttering and help address their needs. Now there will be this empty venue and next to it a now-gone, gourmet ramen soup venue. Several more places closed in the last few months. :( read more

I love this place! The coffee is strong and rich and delicious. They have lots of dairy alternatives ~ soy, coconut & hemp milk. The baristas are cool, interesting people who truly love their jobs. This isn't your grandma's coffee....thankfully! I highly, HIGHLY recommend! read more

Not for me but I am pretty sure it's for others. The gentleman serving us was really nice. They were running out of the milk I had wanted which probably means they are fairly busy so I had to get an alternative. The beans being used had an over acidic quality to them and you could smell it when you walked up. I probably should of walked away at that point but decided maybe my sniffer was on overdrive. I was right. Very dark roast almost too dark. Just tasted burnt. I guess we like what we like and if my father and step mom comes to town, I will take them here because I know they will love it! read more

There isn't really suitable workspace but that is fine by me because I'm trying to get caffeine and get back to my office not sit down to write "Moby Dick". Customer service is AWFUL. As I waited patiently for the girl to take my order, she held her finger up and told me simply "chill for a minute". As I listened to her phone call whom I assume is her boyfriend, and how great their night was. After a few minutes of waiting, FINALLY she was taking my order. She said she would have them right up. A few seconds later, the person whom I'm guessing she was on the phone with walked around the corner. She had me wait a few more minutes while they kissed, and talked among themselves. At this point, I walked away. No drinks, Didn't get my money back, AND left extremely pissed off. Never ever again will I even attempt to try this establishment. Had a long day and was in downtown Poulsbo with a friend and a need for coffee. I had been wanting to try this place and Poulsbohemian, just around the corner to this place had closed for the day, so we stopped at this hip espresso bar in the heart of downtown Poulsbo. I had a latte with almond milk and it was made perfect. My friend ordered the (cherry?) Italian soda and it was very flavorful. Service was friendly and efficient, and there's a little table set where you can sit and watch the cars go by as you wait a moment or two for your coffee. I liked how they had dog treats for the local dogs. Will definitely return! read more

My coffee choices are limited because I only drink decaf. Viking Brew offers a delicious, deep flavored coffee without the fruitiness. If you are looking for a great coffee at a great price Viking Brew is the place for you. My only suggestion is to market the brand by putting your stamp on your white cups. Stopped by yesterday. What a great place and people--the owner is super friendly and very knowledgeable about coffee and roasting to get the great flavor they are able to produce. It's my favorite coffee in Kitsap County, if not Washington! The folks there are very responsive and attentive to details -- probably why the coffee is great, but it also makes for an enjoyable experience. They also have great shirts and new, soft hoodies. I'll be back later this week to get a couple cool T-shirts when they come in for my kids. And of course a good latte, mocha or drip (those are the only one's I've tried there, and I've liked each).
